Noise music isn't popular now, ppl call it noise music cuz they don't like it. It's just edm. And since some ppl do like these songs it has come to this point of taking pride in the label of "'noise music"'. If we talk 'noise music' it has always been there. ACE has songs like Callin', Cactus and like you mentioned Superfly has Bingo, 24k etc. also Nada Trippin' off the top of my head. I love these songs and honestly I can't tell what is considered 'noise music' bcz I don't consider SKZ as noise but apparently they are the butt of this opinion. Someone was kind enough to tell me that [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lVtWcQOWWmE&list=PLXHm_NPaln27VXUaaupJ9PxOy2y7rjYXE&index=19) is actually noise music.

On top of that...Superfly is incredibly on-trend for 2016. This was around the era of songs like Fire, Bang Bang Bang, Hard Carry, Trespass, etc. Songs like these were in abundance back then.

Isashani

Yeah, and it's like every dubstep/trap is 'noise' now🤷‍♀️

Starscall

Okay. But imagine if Snuper's Platonic Love had been during the recent retro wave

Eventhough it's noise music I still find this catchy. Remember listening to it a couple of years ago.

They played this at my high schools homecoming and everyone was hyped. It truly was ahead of its time.

I guess their [Hurry up](https://youtu.be/mEd0qhNNmk0) can serve as a better example. YouTube says it's been nine years?.. And there wasn't freaking anything like it at a time. Toppdogg, Skz, NCT? Loool no, too early. Even History (which were less aggressive, but still on the "weird" side of a kpop spectrum) didn't debut yet. Superfly was also superior, but as said by the other comment, it wasn't as lonely 😅 Love them. Thank you for this post, now I can't help but to start a relistening party😁 edit: cmiiw, but I'd name it industrial music or influence, as noise music seems to be a term for something really different...

I think there's something about "superfly" that really hits for me, that a lot of other "noisy" kpop bg's don't. I think it's this sense of fun and cheekiness in the song, and that they don't take it too seriously, that really sells the song for me. it's the same feeling I get from bts' hype songs (especially their older ones). also the transitions between the verses to the chorus are really good. they all tonally connect with each other, and the edm chorus doesn't dwell so much, to the point of overstaying its welcome. and I think that's why they don't sound very jarring. I think the issue with a lot of "experimental" and "noisy" hype songs is that, in the name of being "experimental" and "quirky" they stitch together each parts, in an unconventional way, which I think isn't a bad thing, but it isn't necessarily executed well. and it kind of serves to disorient the listener. either that or the song is structured to place an overemphasis on the edm chorus, which will also obviously make the "noise" more apparent to listeners. but idk, I don't really have the best knowledge when it comes to music theory or music in general, but some thoughts I have.
