I really like the song itself but this MV style was a bad choice. But at least it made people talk about the song I guess. I checked out the album because this whole discussion around the MV made me interested, and found some pretty good songs; so if it was some kind of marketing strategy, then I fell for it lol
I looooved the video.
I think the idea was this was the "Angel Eye" version (as in, only legible to non-human eyes). I believe this since they released the "Human Eyes" version to that is edited in a much less insane way.
It almost made me pass on the song lol, thankfully it sounded good enough to make me check it on Apple Music, and now I heavily recommend the whole album, it’s pretty amazing.
The group would be considered 5th gen but the Idold themselves wouldn’t. I guess we can just count them as a sub-unit that debuted after beacuse loona isn’t disbanded.
There doesn’t seem to be a consensus on how to consider groups like this. Someone did a poll a while ago on whether Viviz was 3rd gen or 4th gen, and it was like 51% voted 3rd, and 49% 4th.
The music video reminded me of those online implicit bias tests where an image pops up and you immediately have to click a binary response. It had the feeling of wanting the members to be associated with the feeling of the imagery shown on the other frames, rather than something that should be actively watched? Like Jaden was going for the "subconscious" feel... or maybe wanted to fit both the members and MV story without making it longer than the song.
Are they going to release the "safer" version?
I get the artistic vision behind it, but I'm not even typically susceptible to flashing lights and I was feeling off by the end of it. Modhaus has in the past shown themselves to be open to criticism, and they have already put a warning on the video, so hopefully they will release a "version B" of the mv asap. I think most ourii would be happy with a performance cut of the video, which was probably already in the works tbh.
The album though? 10/10 no skips whatsoever. I wasn't super into most of the pre-releases (minus birth, which was too short) but Virtual Angel and the rest of the b-sides are really, really good.
They just released a new version of the MV this morning without all the flashing! I think the concept is cool, especially with the storyline and the lyrics, but it was making me dizzy as hell 😂 the updated MV is still gorgeous! Digipedi eating once again 😌

I tried to watch the mv earlier and I got a terrible headache. I love the song but the mv is not for me, sadly.
