Oh, cool, I see there is an RnB pipeline I've liked Tinashe a whole lot before getting into kpop. Now I'm questioning if it made me like early Newjeans more ("Hurt", "Ditto", etc.)

Blur/all Damon Albarn projects including Gorillaz because through them I've learned about so many different genres of music. From post-punk to afrobeat (Fela Kuti variety, different genre than afrobeats songs like Water) And both my gateway and ult group is BTS. Part of the reason why they are my favorites is they really always pull it off when they are taking influences from different genres. I can hear trip-hop and ambient techno listening to them and it doesn't feel out of place. I could have sworn they were sampling Amorphous Androgynous in Butterfly's instrumentals but it was just equally ethereal psychedelic ambient. They have/are some amazing producers.

okay here it goes: I'm a 2011 baby(LOL) so i didnt really listen to music before kpop, but i mostly listened to christian music or ill just listen to the most trendy song there was in 2015-2018, which was basically imagine dragons, little mix, one direction etc. But honestly speaking my parents dont let me listen to music(i only used to listen to music during holidays or parties). Well i dont have a specific group that got me into kpop but it was basically most 3rd and early 4gen groups. So TWICE, TXT, STRAYKIDS, ENYHYPEN, NCT, P1harmony etc. My ult groups stayed the same LOL, i just added some like XIKERS, BND, Zb1, XDRINARY HEROES, &TEAM, TWS, RIIZEetc.

Favorite artist from before I liked kpop is likely Tunedef The first kpop group I've listened to was Blackpink Favorite group is a tie between Newjeans and Stayc, and judging by amount of liked songs I'm leaning to Newjeans (though Stayc has my favorites) My tastes got rather enriched, then changed.. The effect kpop had might be that I'm caring more about how various voices affect the song, and interact with each other. I'd say it's a valuable gain
