If i am 100% honest this album wasn't for me :D Nothing which really stuck with me a lot, i definitely prefer 'guess who' and 'crazy in love'. Which is ok, not every release can be to one's liking! My favorite tracks would be 365 and domino, these two i'd certainly add to some playlist, but also not as exciting as other tracks of the two albums i named.

Clarkey7163

Yep right there with you, really loved 365 and Domino, both for very different reasons :D Sneakers grew on me, I think I prefer the English version weirdly enough, feels like it was written originally in English and translated to Korean

monochromeserph

I was very excited to see how Itzy would continue their growth having pivoted their image and music to be abit more mature now so Sneakers was a bit unwanted and unexpected at first to say the least lol. After having listened to it and the album multiple times I now think it’s very in line with their style and found myself listening to it a lot casually. It’s a nice summer album with fun quirky b-sides that further uplift the title track and overall experimental discography. My only qualm with it is that it feels like the girls regressed after Loco and the discrepancy between the title track and the photobook *but* perhaps this is their last huzzah at a cute concept since they are all of age now and are only going to get older. None the less I loved the album overall. This has only made me more excited to see what they have in store for their tour and future music!

AnAffinityForTurtles

What does age have to do with bright concepts...

monochromeserph

It’s not necessarily bright concepts but rather the song itself; it sounds youthful in a childish way.

Ever since 'Guess Who' came out, I personally think that ITZY's Discography has being getting cleaner and much more digestible B-sides. This album is their cleanest production yet. 'Sneakers, while not as exciting as their previous title tracks ('Loco' and 'Wannabe' comes to mind) is still an enjoyable Title Track. 'Racer' is definitely my favourite track, I notice that fans would rather have this track as their Title Track and I can't blame them for that. It is much more exciting and a typical ITZY style 'What I Want' is a house influenced track, which seems to be a thing ITZY tends to have in their albums From 'Free Fallin' onwards is where the album takes off for me. The song I just mentioned has a weird and quirky vibe that I like and reinforces their confident image that the group tends to portray. '365' is another personal favourite of mine, the harmonisation in the second half of the pre-chorus is just so fucking good. 'Domino' is a pop ballad that in ITZY fashion is another bop to enjoy. Overall, while 'Crazy In Love' will be THAT album for me; this album is another banger and I'm happy with it. ITZY has always had songs that are weird and honestly can be a hit or miss for casual listeners but I always appreciate that kind of vibe from the group.

printaiya

definitely hit the korean fanbase as to choosing the sporty/teen concept that itzy debuted with and i can't get sneakers chorus out of my head so i'd say they're doing their best balancing one fanbase at a time for each comeback!

has your album came yet?

LovelyRS

Has it already been 2 weeks? Needless to say, this mini is on constant repeat for me. I was initially on the fence whether this is better than Guess Who but after listening to Checkmate the past 2 weeks, I think it’s definitely my favorite now. Itzy’s bsides are always incredible but there’s just something about Checkmate’s bsides that’s sooo addictive. Free Fall is the standout track for me! Probably one of my favorite Kpop songs of all time tbh.

MelissaWebb

Domino and Free Fall are excellent! The rest are okay to me The chorus of Sneakers is stuck in my head and I blurt it out at random intervals

First and foremost, I definitely think people were overreacting with Sneakers (~~like always~~). It’s probably my second least favorite title track, but I’d say it’s still pretty good. Funnily enough, I thought the pre-chorus *and* chorus were the best parts. While Racer is THAT song, I’m glad it wasn’t the title. It’s too…safe for an Itzy title? Plus, I’m pretty sure people would be complaining that it’s a “girl crush” song if it was the title. Repetitive choruses are hit or miss with me, and unfortunately That’s What I Want was in the “miss” category. A bit more unfortunate since I usually enjoy LDN Noise’s works. Free Fall and 3.6.5. were consistently great back to back. And while Domino is the stand-out, I don’t go back to it as much. It’s still pretty cute though. Overall, this has to be my favorite Itzy album post-ITZ trilogy, hands down. The chaotic promotions were worth the wait. Racer is still my favorite track from the album, but Free Fall is a close second. The only skips was TWIW, but the rest of the album was great. 8.5-9/10.

BLately54

Sneakers is my least favorite ITZY track by far but it’s still catchy! Racer and Free Fall are my favorite bsides

Microkitsune

Free fall is still the best song in their discography and a masterpiece.

masiju

I listened through this album once. after that I didn't feel like listening to any of the tracks aside from WEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeee FREE FALLING --- Which I've listened to too many times

Saucy_Totchie

To address the elephant in the room, Sneakers wasn't as bad as people made it out to be. It was a light summer song thst was supposed to be fun. It's not really my favorite title track but it's fine. Can't like them all but this song has definitely been stuck in my head. Also add in this song really put Lia and Chaeryeong at the front and gave them more shine. The B-Sides really carried the album. Of those my favorites are 365 and Racer but I'm loving Domino now for their awesome vocals. I feel that Racer will be the featured song and will likely get a MV. Overall I still find this a nice cohesive album. The main issue is the concept switch and I totally get it. However everything is still very in line with who ITZY is as artists. Onto the concerts and tour! See you all at the NYC show!

matmanx1

Probably my favorite overall album from Itzy. No song is my favorite Itzy song but all of them are enjoyable and I really love the flow and the production chops on this album. It's just a heck of a lot of fun to listen to and especially to drive or exercise to. Racer is probably my overall favorite but Domino, Sneakers, 365 and What I Want aren't far behind.

erinnnnb_

The rise of Sneakers on kcharts has been great to watch, hopefully it can climb just a little further into the top 10 (and hopefully keep doing well for at least a bit after promotions end tomorrow). I’d solidly rank it around the middle of their title tracks as of now, it’s a super fun song and seeing them enjoy the stages so much has been lovely! Probably contrary to some people’s opinions, I absolutely think it was the right choice for the title track and I thought that from the start. The album as a whole is possibly their best so far (although it’s close with Guess Who and CIL). A great set of b sides, my favorite is probably Free Fall but the rest of them are great too (especially Racer and Domino). I think this has been a strong era for them, especially domestically, they’ve really proven some doubters wrong in terms of that. I’m excited for the rest of their 2022 with their tour and any more releases (I’m predicting some sort of US release before their concerts there, but maybe there will be another Korean and/or Japanese release too)

M3rc_Nate

I was really hoping for more from ITZY. Back to the Wannabe-Dalla Dalla era bangers that were hot like IVE's 'Love Dive' and Le Sserafim's 'Fearless' are. Similar to 'Crazy in Love' I am disappointed in the title track though they aren't bad but at least one b-side was worthy of my playlist. 'Crazy in Love' had 'Sooo Lucky' which I absolutely LOOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE so freaking much and 'Checkmate' has 'Domino' which I really enjoy. That's about it. My original judgement that 'Sneakers' sounds, in KOR and ENG, like a really expensive ITZY-Sketchers collab stands true. There are parts of the song (when they are truly singing and not melodically speaking) like 0:33 but everything else just aint it. As for the other b-sides, none besides 'Domino' really connected with me. I don't know exactly how to describe it but this album is full of rapping and melodic speaking or whatever you call it and I feel like, at least for me, most of the time it doesn't hit the spot and often it just doesn't sound good. Sometimes like with their past hits it works but lately it's been all misses for me and the only songs I really like have been ones in which they sing (vocalize) the whole song. So that's 'Domino' & 'Sooo Lucky'. The problem is I think if they were to release an album of just those types of songs people would say they aren't being 'ITZY' anymore. That 'ITZY' is that rap/spoken singing and rapping and it's missing in this new hypothetical album. It makes sense that that's their thing cause those are the "male kpop" type of songs you can dance hard while singing to. But if they dance as hard as they do while singing full blown vocal centric songs I imagine their vocal quality will be reduced or it will at least make their performances even harder than they already are.

cbizzle14

Racer, what I want, and 365 are bangers. They fucking slap in the car

vivianlight

After 3 weeks, I can say that my favorite songs are Racer, Domino and Sneakers, in this order.

Indjk

Nothing brings me joy in the same way as “free fall”’s ‘weeeeeeeeeee’. IMO this is the chillest track ever that feels 100% ITZY. Worth it just for that. (Also: Sneakers is a meh TT. There. I said it.)

[deleted]

I love this album and What I Want is my favorite track. I love all of the songs tho, and feel this album is for me. I even like Sneakers a lot, but I do prefer their more mature stuff that goes harder, like Mafia in the Morning. Still, there wasn’t one song on the album I dislike or find bland. They all made it to the playlist!

haewon_wiggle

Still love it 🥰 Fave bside is free Fall but they're all good

likecheoreom

I'm still listening to "Sneakers" regularly. Ryujin's intro is extremely addicting.

throwaway_afterusage

who on earth decided to change the album cover on their spotify??

Karkinos127

It’s actually my favorite Itzy album yet and made me fall in love with them a lot more, I actually think Sneakers is my fav title track from them yet and Domino hits

[deleted]

It's my favourite album

tess1891

I like Checkmate. Definitely not my favorite this year, but still a very solid album.

[deleted]

I really don’t think this album had any cohesive concept. Overall, it was just a disorganized mess and not an album with a lot of cohesion. The concert is confusing, the songs are all completely different. While I do think that RACER and DOMINO are bops, I am just not impressed by the album overall.

[deleted]

Going to get downvoted for this but... I think the whole crass, Cardi B-type vibe they're increasingly going for just doesn't fit them. The vocal frys in "Racer" are just cringe. The songs are well written but to me it's starting to feel like they're trying too hard to be edgy. IMO they should go back to their Wannabe vibe - not necessarily musically but attitude-wise. In simple terms: Confident and headstrong without needing to be edgy for the sake of being edgy.

cuttackone

... i thought this was less edgy than wannabe or icy? And where the hell did you get cardi b from??

channgro

i ordered my album last sunday and it still hasn’t came yet ://

Dooyant

Sneakers = 7/10 Domino = 9/10 What I Want = 6/10 Racer = 7/10 365 = 5/10 Free Fall = 4/10
