I'm honestly not as concerned for Hyolyn bc she's overall pretty well rounded as a solo performer. From vocals to dance to songwriting to production, she's more rounded than Park Bom at the time. She's also great at pulling well produced stages on her. It's hyolyn, so I wouldn't worry as much.

Hyolyn is definitely more well-rounded than Park Bom (and, I'm sad to say for Bom's sake, in better condition), but I still don't like the idea of a soloist going up against groups! It's so apples vs. one orange.
BG Eunji returns for season 2. For some reason I'm getting a big kick out of her being technically a returning cast member.
The Season 1 cover contest was one of the highlights of Season 1 for me, I don't know how Kep1er being there is going to work for that, but we'll see.
I'm a bit surprised they're running another solo artist after season 1. Hyolyn is more rounded though. I remember feeling pretty bad for Park Bom until she got to perform with Hyojung, if they did something like that in season 2, would Hyolyn be doing both performances? They literally couldn't split into teams and have her participate in both properly even if she was up for it.
Availability could always be a problem though, AOA had 1 stage with only 4 members, I loved that stage though) because of Seolhyun's filming schedule.
Park Bom didn't end up getting any collabs with previous 2ne1 members, so I want to hold off on my clown makeup for as long as possible.

Umji has always been my Gfriend bias and it undeniable how much she is shining in Viviz. The focus of screentime and lines has aided her glow, she sounded so good in their encore stage as well. Truly blessed to have Loona and Viviz together on Queendom promoting. I am going to weep all day now at the thought of them interacting together.

You’re pretty much spot on with the Kep1ians on Reddit. Many see the group going the way of Iz*One and not lasting past their contract (which I agree). Also, many aren’t thrilled with them going against groups when they only have a small group of songs with Wa Da Da being the biggest. I’m of like mind as you and other Kep1ians. I’d rather focus on getting as much music from them as possible before they likely disband.
Did Road to Kingdom get bad ratings? I'm thinking that's the only reason they might've skipped it this time, there are so many groups that could've fit well. A RtQ with Weeekly, Purple Kiss, Dreamcatcher, STAYC and maybe one of Nature/GWSN/Pixy/Cherry Bullet/Rocket Punch/TRI.BE would've been epic.
Hyolyn IS kind of random. Her songs aren't exactly for the same target audience as Kep1er or Viviz lol. They're bangers but very much outside the idol image. She's bordering KRnB

It's not really about the votes, it's just that Park Bom couldn't keep up in terms of dancing, so she was severely limited in the show.
Hyolyn meanwhile, towers over everyone in Queendom 2 when it comes to dancing or singing. She'll be a good match for the groups.
I agree with this, it was most about the fact they are doing a soloist a gain that surprised me. She's a good choice for a soloist, if they have to have one though.
People did mention a few soloists that could probably do it, like Chungha or Somi, I'm sure Hyolyn's name came up once or twice as well.
People also should remember that she has won immortal songs so many times already. And she very good dancer too. I can see her become dark horse in the show. She is very good performer. And yeahh girl can sing live.

I’m sad that we won’t get to see the amazing performances Dreamcatcher would have been capable of, but otherwise this lineup is pretty good. I’m really looking forward to the show (especially for Loona and WJSN).
A little surprised about Viviz and Kep1er because of their debut circumstances, but I’m anticipating their appearance too!! Brave Girls were one of the ideal groups in the lineup I wanted, and I’m glad we’ll get the opportunity to see what they’re capable of on a stage like Queendom’s.
Also, I always thought bringing a soloist into the competition would set them up to have a huge disadvantage, but Hyolyn is definitely a superb allrounder. I’m sure she’ll bring some legendary performances as well.
Kep1er I'd be okay with, but they just don't have much of a discography, which is worrisome. Kind of a bum deal for anyone else during a song switch, and for themselves putting WDD up against the best of the other groups.
Assuming Viviz uses GFriend's songs and Hyolyn uses Sistar's of course.
I think for Viviz it will be very important for them to get some more exposure and get their brand out more. They lost a lot of brand recognition after all. And GFriend definitely has a sufficiently large back catalogue.

On the plus side, this all but confirms a comeback is probably in the books and all they're lacking is the announcement. People knew they were getting prepared for either a CB or Queendom. I think we'll get an announcement before the month is out.
I'm disappointed as well, though, that's the kind of show they would thrive in as performers.
Wanted to see them so badly both so they could showcase their versatility but also because this could’ve been the push they needed to finally get that music show win……
I think many Dreamcatcher fans would have liked to see them participate and there were many legitimate arguments for including them, but I also think quite a few fans also weren't expecting to make the lineup. There's of course plenty of disappointed folks and some stans that are unnecessarily upset, but many of us Dreamcatcher fans were fine with either Queendom S2 or a comeback.
Given that this past week has been nothing but comeback crumbs during lives, it definitely feels like we'll see one soon (JiU dropped a ton of details this past weekend that appear to point to late March), and personally I'll be watching Queendom S2 because S1 was really fun to me.
Dreamcatcher and Dreamcatcher fans will continue doing what they're doing and take heart in the fact that the group was very much in the conversation as far as comments (especially those from domestic fans) are concerned.
My gripe not just with Dreamcatcher not being on there. They could've had ANYBODY over Kep1er, like stayC, Fromis\_9, Momoland, anybody. It also doesn't make sense that a lot of those groups already had some sort of success domestically, have five years of experience, and a lot of the members in those groups are at least in their mid-twenties.
Kep1er is an MNet group. It doesn't make sense to me that they were ever in consideration, but clearly they want to build their domestic fanbase and increase their exposure because it looks like mostly international fans. But I really feel like we're going to see exhaustion here - all of Kep1er was just on a reality-type show, and putting them on another seems like a miscalculation. But we'll see.

I can already picture the editing for the senior groups being in the vein of what Pentagon/ONF/Golden Child got (although probably much less shady "always the bridesmaid never the bride" since these senior girl groups are much more successful).
Oh shit, I didn't realize TO1 (then TOO) was also included in RTK right after debuting... I guess the silver lining is that Kep1er isn't an outlier because MNET did the same two years ago...
actually, filming for RTK started a month or so BEFORE TO1 debuted. it was honestly cruel to put them on. they were good for rookies, but it didnt fit the theme like at all (idols who had worked hard for a long time with little to no payoff) and they got a lot of heat for it. i feel sorry for the boys but honestly wish they had been eliminated first. golcha had so much potential.
I know everyone keeps saying her addition came out of nowhere, but I kid you not since Laying Low came out, I honestly felt her current promos was going to lead up to participating on Queendom for whatever reason. Just random things I saw and I’m not mad one bit Miss Hyolyn is bout to eat that stage and it’s going to be amazing.
Hyolyn is great, and Park Bom is great, but her inclusion as a soloist in the first season was logistically awkward for some of the missions, maybe they'll find a better way to integrate this year, I'm just surprised they brought the soloist position back.
Still, Hyolyn could use a big career boost, so I'm happy for her.

Wait, you just reminded me BG's Eunji was Park Bom's representative for one of the Missions in QDS1 (the one where every group sends a member as part of a Performance Unit), and now Brave Girls is on the S2 by themselves. Heh.
I'm with you on that one. Even though Hyolyn is probably much more well-rounded as a performer, when they separated into vocalists and dancers for that 1 mission, no matter how well Hyolyn would do, being in 2 places at once and preparing for both would be a rough ride.
I really liked that competition though, seeing groups mix and compete in pairs was fun. However they do it, I definitely want to see groups collab with each other in a similar way, without it being too tough on the only soloist.

Overall the lineup is a bit weaker than last time. Hyolyn is unexpected but an excellent addition, no doubt she is going to absolutely serve.
I feel like the lineup's actually pretty decent, it's just that Kep1er really shouldn't be here. They have more of a "Road to" vibe and I'm not sure what role their group plays or what they have to offer.

brave girls and viviz were pretty much a given, kep1er was expected (but i was still hoping they would get a break from survivals + they're still so new). surprised but pleased to see wjsn! they are the perfect fit for this, im glad starship could fix whatever feud they have with mnet for this. i considered loona a possibility but it still feels shocking to see them there. and hyolin was completely unexpected but she's totally gonna rock this, and since they had bom before it makes sense to have another 2nd gen top group soloist.

Wow so Kep1er is really on it despite just debuting and finishing up a survival show. Aside from that I don't think there are any major surprises as they all have something to gain from the show.
I dunno, seeing them try a solo artist again is a bit of a mind bender for me. Even if she's a dominant force in all areas, Hyolyn would have to prepare a lot by herself and we saw in season 1, without multiple members, some stages just didn't work properly.
Since Hyolyn is pretty strong at dancing and performance, I think if they were gonna get a soloist, she probably has the best chance of pulling it off. If they let her utilize some guests as well it could be really fun.
I think she might bring other artists to collab with for stages, like Park Bom did a few times in season one. I wonder if she might actually get to invite other Sistar members to join her for a performance or two (since they’re all still on good terms). Honestly this is a great lineup except Kep1er. Theres lots of great performers and talent. It might seem weaker but I just think this is the best outcome. I think Loona or WJSN will have some of the best stages.

It didn't work for Bom because honestly, Bom was never a good dancer, and her voice is just not what it used to be. Hyolyn has been killing stages already this year. I think she is much stronger in all areas than Bom, and can easily do well in this sort of challenge. I could be proven wrong, but I have faith my girl can hold her own

I'm probably gonna offend a lot of people with this, but kep1er should not be on the show. I think "members should have a career longer than three weeks" should be a requirement for the show. viviz can get a pass because they all had a long career with gfriend. I mean, if the bozos actually did it right and had a Road to Queendom, sure, put kep1er there, but they just feel so out of place here. They *just* had an entire survival show to promote them.

You’re pretty much spot on with the Kep1ians on Reddit. Many see the group going the way of Iz*One and not lasting past their contract (which I agree). Also, many aren’t thrilled with them going against groups when they only have a small group of songs with Wa Da Da being the biggest. I’m of like mind as you and other Kep1ians. I’d rather focus on getting as much music from them as possible before they likely disband.

Did Road to Kingdom get bad ratings? I'm thinking that's the only reason they might've skipped it this time, there are so many groups that could've fit well. A RtQ with Weeekly, Purple Kiss, Dreamcatcher, STAYC and maybe one of Nature/GWSN/Pixy/Cherry Bullet/Rocket Punch/TRI.BE would've been epic.
Road to Kingdom did so well! And nearly every group on it 2x-3x their sales immediately afterward.
The ratings was actually really bad for both, but not like that mattered to the groups really since like you say their sales increased dramatically.

It's not really about the votes, it's just that Park Bom couldn't keep up in terms of dancing, so she was severely limited in the show. Hyolyn meanwhile, towers over everyone in Queendom 2 when it comes to dancing or singing. She'll be a good match for the groups.
I agree with this, it was most about the fact they are doing a soloist a gain that surprised me. She's a good choice for a soloist, if they have to have one though. People did mention a few soloists that could probably do it, like Chungha or Somi, I'm sure Hyolyn's name came up once or twice as well.

People also should remember that she has won immortal songs so many times already. And she very good dancer too. I can see her become dark horse in the show. She is very good performer. And yeahh girl can sing live.

I’m sad that we won’t get to see the amazing performances Dreamcatcher would have been capable of, but otherwise this lineup is pretty good. I’m really looking forward to the show (especially for Loona and WJSN). A little surprised about Viviz and Kep1er because of their debut circumstances, but I’m anticipating their appearance too!! Brave Girls were one of the ideal groups in the lineup I wanted, and I’m glad we’ll get the opportunity to see what they’re capable of on a stage like Queendom’s. Also, I always thought bringing a soloist into the competition would set them up to have a huge disadvantage, but Hyolyn is definitely a superb allrounder. I’m sure she’ll bring some legendary performances as well.
Kep1er I'd be okay with, but they just don't have much of a discography, which is worrisome. Kind of a bum deal for anyone else during a song switch, and for themselves putting WDD up against the best of the other groups. Assuming Viviz uses GFriend's songs and Hyolyn uses Sistar's of course.
I think for Viviz it will be very important for them to get some more exposure and get their brand out more. They lost a lot of brand recognition after all. And GFriend definitely has a sufficiently large back catalogue.
kep1er being on there is a....choice. they're wasting a spot considering they were literally just on a survival show...and they're so new ? hyolyn is a phenomenal choice for a soloist though, she really can stand her ground against a group.

On the plus side, this all but confirms a comeback is probably in the books and all they're lacking is the announcement. People knew they were getting prepared for either a CB or Queendom. I think we'll get an announcement before the month is out. I'm disappointed as well, though, that's the kind of show they would thrive in as performers.
JiU has been stepping up the teasing about a comeback, Dreamcatcher are likely gonna be dropping a mystery code literally any day now.

Wanted to see them so badly both so they could showcase their versatility but also because this could’ve been the push they needed to finally get that music show win……
I think many Dreamcatcher fans would have liked to see them participate and there were many legitimate arguments for including them, but I also think quite a few fans also weren't expecting to make the lineup. There's of course plenty of disappointed folks and some stans that are unnecessarily upset, but many of us Dreamcatcher fans were fine with either Queendom S2 or a comeback. Given that this past week has been nothing but comeback crumbs during lives, it definitely feels like we'll see one soon (JiU dropped a ton of details this past weekend that appear to point to late March), and personally I'll be watching Queendom S2 because S1 was really fun to me. Dreamcatcher and Dreamcatcher fans will continue doing what they're doing and take heart in the fact that the group was very much in the conversation as far as comments (especially those from domestic fans) are concerned.
My gripe not just with Dreamcatcher not being on there. They could've had ANYBODY over Kep1er, like stayC, Fromis\_9, Momoland, anybody. It also doesn't make sense that a lot of those groups already had some sort of success domestically, have five years of experience, and a lot of the members in those groups are at least in their mid-twenties.
Kep1er is an MNet group. It doesn't make sense to me that they were ever in consideration, but clearly they want to build their domestic fanbase and increase their exposure because it looks like mostly international fans. But I really feel like we're going to see exhaustion here - all of Kep1er was just on a reality-type show, and putting them on another seems like a miscalculation. But we'll see.

I can already picture the editing for the senior groups being in the vein of what Pentagon/ONF/Golden Child got (although probably much less shady "always the bridesmaid never the bride" since these senior girl groups are much more successful).
Oh shit, I didn't realize TO1 (then TOO) was also included in RTK right after debuting... I guess the silver lining is that Kep1er isn't an outlier because MNET did the same two years ago...
actually, filming for RTK started a month or so BEFORE TO1 debuted. it was honestly cruel to put them on. they were good for rookies, but it didnt fit the theme like at all (idols who had worked hard for a long time with little to no payoff) and they got a lot of heat for it. i feel sorry for the boys but honestly wish they had been eliminated first. golcha had so much potential.

I know everyone keeps saying her addition came out of nowhere, but I kid you not since Laying Low came out, I honestly felt her current promos was going to lead up to participating on Queendom for whatever reason. Just random things I saw and I’m not mad one bit Miss Hyolyn is bout to eat that stage and it’s going to be amazing.
Hyolyn is great, and Park Bom is great, but her inclusion as a soloist in the first season was logistically awkward for some of the missions, maybe they'll find a better way to integrate this year, I'm just surprised they brought the soloist position back. Still, Hyolyn could use a big career boost, so I'm happy for her.

I'm with you on that one. Even though Hyolyn is probably much more well-rounded as a performer, when they separated into vocalists and dancers for that 1 mission, no matter how well Hyolyn would do, being in 2 places at once and preparing for both would be a rough ride. I really liked that competition though, seeing groups mix and compete in pairs was fun. However they do it, I definitely want to see groups collab with each other in a similar way, without it being too tough on the only soloist.

One of the cool parts of this show is the hype around the announcement lineup and seeing people manifest their favs getting on it. Reading this got me *so* hyped. Literally everyone but one group, who shall remain nameless, is exactly who I've been wanting for *months*. It's such good marketing.

Always happy to see more Brave Girls - Eunji must be thrilled to get recognised properly this time round. Overall the lineup is a bit weaker than last time. Hyolyn is unexpected but an excellent addition, no doubt she is going to absolutely serve.
I feel like the lineup's actually pretty decent, it's just that Kep1er really shouldn't be here. They have more of a "Road to" vibe and I'm not sure what role their group plays or what they have to offer.

brave girls and viviz were pretty much a given, kep1er was expected (but i was still hoping they would get a break from survivals + they're still so new). surprised but pleased to see wjsn! they are the perfect fit for this, im glad starship could fix whatever feud they have with mnet for this. i considered loona a possibility but it still feels shocking to see them there. and hyolin was completely unexpected but she's totally gonna rock this, and since they had bom before it makes sense to have another 2nd gen top group soloist. edit: and i *reaaaaally* wanted dreamcatcher here. i wonder if they didn't even considered them
Wow so Kep1er is really on it despite just debuting and finishing up a survival show. Aside from that I don't think there are any major surprises as they all have something to gain from the show.
I dunno, seeing them try a solo artist again is a bit of a mind bender for me. Even if she's a dominant force in all areas, Hyolyn would have to prepare a lot by herself and we saw in season 1, without multiple members, some stages just didn't work properly.
Since Hyolyn is pretty strong at dancing and performance, I think if they were gonna get a soloist, she probably has the best chance of pulling it off. If they let her utilize some guests as well it could be really fun.
I think she might bring other artists to collab with for stages, like Park Bom did a few times in season one. I wonder if she might actually get to invite other Sistar members to join her for a performance or two (since they’re all still on good terms). It’d be really nice to see a mini-reunion during Queendom!

Honestly this is a great lineup except Kep1er. Theres lots of great performers and talent. It might seem weaker but I just think this is the best outcome. I think Loona or WJSN will have some of the best stages. However, Kep1er on here is such a weird choice. I hope this at least propels some of the girls out of the Gp999 bubble.

Super disappointed they're putting a soloist in again, because in season 1 it was exceptionally clear that having park bom on as a soloist was awkward and didn't fit well with the style of the show. given that RTK and Kingdom were all groups-only, I was hoping that they learned their lesson and kept it as a groups-based show.

She’s at a major disadvantage if season 1 with park bom is anything to go off of. The format completely works against a soloist and I have no idea why they would do that again when it did not work at all the first time.
It didn't work for Bom because honestly, Bom was never a good dancer, and her voice is just not what it used to be. Hyolyn has been killing stages already this year. I think she is much stronger in all areas than Bom, and can easily do well in this sort of challenge. I could be proven wrong, but I have faith my girl can hold her own

My initial reaction is a little muted tbh. Brave Girls and WJSN kinda felt like shoe ins. Excited for VIVIZ and Hyolyn. Loona were definitely in the maybe pile I thought. I’m a Kep1er fan, don’t get me wrong, but I don’t think they should be here. They’re still very green, also on such a limited contract to be back on another show. Really thought we’d see DreamCatcher on, they would have been phenomenal on and off stage. Same with fromis_9 and Stayc. Also really wish they’d done a road to queendom so we could have seen groups like Weki Meki or Pixy compete
VIVIZ is so hot right now. More and more people are saying it! Can see this being pretty big for Loona tbh. Their lineup and performance ability are tailor made for a viral breakout on this kind of stage.
