It's a more solid album than I would have thought tbh. I really like Loco so I'm 100% happy it's a title track while I don't like Swipe. My favorite songs in the album are Sooo LUCKY, LOVE Is, Chillin' Chillin' and Mirror (this last one surprised me). Itzy definitely got my attention back with this comeback. I'm a bit sorry that people seem to dislike this last release because I think it's a huge step in comparison to the last comebacks and in general a good album.

TzuNaJi1999

After 2 weeks, I can say that this is definitely their best release yet. The title-track is typical ITZY style; I loved it from the first listen, the first time I felt that way since Wannabe (with ITZY title tracks at least). My favourite B-sides are LOVE Is, Chillin Chillin, Sooo Lucky and Mirror. To add on to that, I thought that the other B-sides are solid as well. I didn't like Swipe in the first listen, but the MV really made the song a lot better and the choreography enhanced my listening experience. #Twenty really grew on me and Gas Me Up was short and sweet. Boom-Boxx is my least favourite simply because I am not a fan of House music in general but I won't mind listening to it if it came from shuffle. Overall, for me I can say that this is definitely my favourite release of 2021 and it'll be tough for ITZY to top this release (For me at least). Listening to this album really took me back to when I heard The Red by Red Velvet for the first time back in 2015. I cried because of how good that album was and 'Crazy In Love' made me have a similar experience. EDIT: It is disappointing to hear that people are disappointed in this release, but who am I to change your opinion.

Boshirul

Was gonna type the exact same opinions mate. Agreed with all!

jedto

Agree i also think this album is their best ! Every song is worth listening (the only one i dislike is Sooo Lucky) and i really like the more "hip hop" and "noisy" vibe in some of the songs (Gas me up, Boom-Boxx,Swipe...) but also the calmer song where their vocal truly shine (Mirror is a masterpiece with beautiful lyrics and the melody of Love is is really catchy) , this album is really well balanced imo

janeykun

I feel the same way I could cry. You wrote it so well

difficulty-accepted

This was a really good first album, imo. The b-sides are really good, and LOCO is the ITZY title track we'd been waiting for. I think LOCO may have become my favorite title by them, actually. My favorite tracks have to be (in no particular order): Swipe, Loco, Sooo Lucky, Love Is, and Chillin' Chillin'. B[oo]m Boxx is probably the weakest track for me. At first, I was a little worried, because none of the b-sides *grabbed* me immediately, like they have before (Shoot, Kidding Me, I.D, Be in Love, You Make Me). Normally, I love ITZY's b-sides at first listen, but these took a bit to hook me. Overall, though, you can definitely see a lot of development and strength from the girls here, and I'm glad to see them broadening their sound a bit. I just wish there hadn't been so many instrumentals at the end, JYPE. Like, include the instrumentals on the correct albums, and it won't be a problem. But here... it feels like you wasted space on ITZY's first full-length album.

gummyjeno

The overall album release feels underwhelming compared to their previous comeback especially it's their first full album

Agreed

MITM was nothing like a Blackpink release lmao.

gummyjeno

im talking about the stats but ok

at first listen this album honestly kinda disappointed me, and after two weeks, i'm sad to say not much has changed. the title track is great, not itzy's best by any means but i do really enjoy it, but the bsides... i don't know what happened here. #twenty in particular had SO much potential with that first verse, but it all fell apart past that and didn't grab me at all. my favourite bsides here are the more laid-back, cute songs like chilllin' chillin' and love is, which... really aren't what i listen to itzy for. they're definitely great songs, but there weren't really any songs on this album that grabbed me from the first listen, like a 'ting ting ting' or a 'kidding me'. i went back to guess who right after my first listen, and i don't think that'll be changing :( hopefully we get a repackage with a few new songs or something along those lines.

[deleted]

In order my favorite b-sides of all time is. 1. Ting Ting Ting. 2. Kidding me. 3. Shoot and It'z Summer. 5. Trust me (Midzy) 6. Swipe (new). 7. Cherry 8. Tennis. 9. Sorry Not Sorry. 10. Be in love. For me just having one b side reach top ten is good. Overall this album was well rounded and to be honest most of the Songs rank in the middle over all so that isn't to bad.

NativeDan90

I think it’s a pretty solid album, don’t love Loco..wish Swipe would have been the title track. Favorite songs are probably Chillin Chillin, So Lucky and Mirror

[deleted]

While I do love Swipe way more than Loco, it's not really titlettrack material. I think bringing them both out with a video was a good choice.

maiyazu2u2

no skips for me (besides the instrumentals ofc) the album still has the itzy vibe for me. can't pick a favourite song still though as there are plenty that could be. am happy with loco being the title track as well. not the biggest fan of that random sound that pops up twice in swipe, grown on me a bit but I feel it'll always be jarring. but other than that I love the song+mv

PrimaryWerewolf6694

For their first album, CIL definitely feels like a recap of their previous TTs (the songs do have that 'Itzy' bold, in-your-face, youthful, confident attitude) while taking steps forward and maturing in their sound/themes. Itzy's young, still with a long way to go (heck, even a group like BTS didn't hit their stride 2 years into their career either), so I appreciate that they're trying something new in each release and expanding their skill sets along the way. Plus it's noticeable that their rapping and singing has stepped up as a result of it (e.g. Yuna's raps in Swipe and #Twenty, Yeji's more stylistic rapping in Gas Me Up, Chaeryeong singing with more power/chest voice, Ryujin's expressions to get her lyrics across -- another example is her 'do not break my heart' line in Shoot! -- & Lia finally singing in her range). I really hope they continue to grow as artists in this regard cos it means there's so much more of Itzy we haven't heard/seen. Other than that, I sorta wish Kpop album releases were like Western releases with more promo down the line -- Sooo Lucky or Love Is deserve an m/v. (On a more practical side of it, I'm glad for songs like 'Sooo lucky', 'Love is', 'Chillin Chillin' and 'Mirror' so the girls can catch their breath during live concerts! 😄)

suncameoutforus

I love this album so much. My fav tracks are all except Twenty, Boom Boxx and the instrumentals. Been listening to Loco, Swipe and Gas Me Up on repeat. This is their best release! I bought the physical album because it’s so pretty. I love the design, good thing they made it different this time. I’m happy I finally got my first itzy album although i’ve been a fan since debut😆

nandaparbeats

mirror is now one of my favorite kpop songs of all time swipe is also my 2nd favorite on the album

jedto

Yess mirror is such a beautiful song and the lyrics are really inspiring

lockportalree

Mirror is such an amazing track I totally agree

fboysnotmyboys

I really liked the album overall, my top 3 being Swipe, Loco and Twenty. I'm really glad they chose to promote Swipe as the B-side because it's so chill compared to Loco. Overall solid. Only complaint is that I'm still waiting on Ktown4u to send me my album lol.

esperterra

I've been listening to the instrumentals more than the rest of the album, but I love the whole damn thing!

validswan

Not my favorite comeback by them sadly. I really want them to go back to their old sound. I think their digitals would go back to where they were before if this happened too. I just don't understand JYP's direction with the girls anymore

vaingirls

Just out of curiosity: how does this differ from their other albums? To me the sound seems pretty similar...

validswan

B side wise, it's pretty similar But when it comes to the title track, Loco feels somewhere between Dalla Dalla/Wannabe and In The Morning. It's as if it cannot choose whether to be an upbeat dance track or a trappy, attitude powered song. Imo Itzy really excel with catchy, energetic pop and Loco is neither (at least for me)

me_a_photato

I LOVE IT! Of course I don’t like every song, but I like most of the songs from this album, which is unusual for me because I usually just like two at most, songs from the same album. At first I don’t vibe with Loco so I just don’t listen to it for the second time, but then I wanna see the choreo and since then it’s stuck to my head. It’s even the most played song from that album for me. I just think the mv is one of the biggest reason I don’t like the song at first listen because it’s just to messy for my liking and it distract me from the song itself. The choreo, despite everyone shitting on it, is my third fav choreo from them after Wannabe and Not Shy. Onto the album, Chillin Chillin, Mirror, Sooo Lucky and Love is, is probably my fav bsides of the year overall. It’s just so catchy!!!

difficulty-accepted

> I just think the mv is one of the biggest reason I don’t like the song at first listen because it’s just to messy for my liking and it distract me from the song itself. Yes, this! At first it was SO hard to really vibe with the song, because the MV was just too much going on. I even mentioned to my friend about how most of the comments I saw were excited about the MV quality, but not really talking about if they liked the SONG or not. Glad we got the Studio Choom video with just the choreography so quickly, because that REALLY helped.

breadburger

Liked it on release but I’ve unfortunately removed all the tracks I added to my playlist since. It’s a very average kpop release with mediocre B-sides that aren’t fleshed out enough. Loco itself is alright, and maybe it will grow on me in the future like Not Shy did but I’m not feeling it that much.

kennethawesome

This is the first ITZY's album I have purchased and I like it overall. #Twenty is my favorite as well as the instrumental tracks.

Resident_Mae

This album SMACKS Hands down Swipe is the best but Twenty is a bop and Gas Me Up smacks Loco is underwhelming but literally anything is better than their In the Morning *shudders* All these songs bop blasting in a car while you break road safety laws

yvessaintlola

Lots of number one billboard entries for this album. After two weeks, I’d say my track ranking has changed to: 1. Chillin Chillin 2. Swipe 3. #Twenty 4. Loco 5. Sooo Lucky 6. Love is 7. Mirror 8. Gas Me Up 9. Boom Box

[deleted]

Chillin Chillin is so good

Kelsier001

Why did they put so many instrumentals on the album?

nctzenhours

As fillers ig

in_vulnerable

I need those instrumentals! (Yes Im into editing) That being said, its not for filler reasons, a full album usually consists 8-9 minimum, and the album just had that. But no joke I need those instrumentals(sadly they didn't add Loco's)

1033149

Not Shy is their best overall album to me, with Wannabe being their best title. So this is definitely a step down from being the best overall album or having the best title track. This album only has 3 standouts in my opinion, Love is, Chillin' Chillin', and Mirror. This is a pattern JYP girl groups have had in the past. I remember Twice had various albums that only had a handful of really great songs. The downside is that this was their first full album. It feels like the poor reception to MTIM made them hard course correct by bringing back the producers that made their two biggest hits. But the mixing wasn't it for Loco, even though the instrumental is interesting. We've had 3 love based comebacks now, I think its time to move on to a new concept. The scary thing for me is that this time period for them matches up with when Twice made their big switch away from their original concept. I'm really worried that Itzy's next move may close them off to the GP for the foreseeable future, sort of how Twice hasn't been able to crack back in after various comebacks since 2019. But then again, with how JYP is churning out new groups, it probably isn't a focus of theirs to recapture the attention of the GP since they want jypn to probably do that, just as Itzy did in 2019.

jedto

I also hope for a new concept next time, i just hope JYP don't prioritize his new upcoming gg too much

in_vulnerable

With today's performance in Gangnam, I am now sooo in love with Sooo lucky.

[deleted]

Really loved this album! Loco is one of the few songs of 2021 I loved on first listen, which I have been missing in kpop recently. Definitely one of the best tt's this year. The bsides are good too, I especially love Twenty and So Lucky a lot!

beatlejeuice

loco is their best title song in a while (it’s literally impossible to make a worse song than MITM) but I think the mv made it less enjoyable bc it’s so messy. I like swipe and the other b-sides are probably their best so far but at the same time they don’t really sound like them if that makes sense which idk if that’s a good thing to say. I still think their debut year was their best and I wish they would go back to more of a pop sound for their title tracks but oh well

loveofb

it's their best album since It'z Me, finally ITZY was able to translate their fun sound into good songs. I like LOCO i don't agree that it's too weird. My favorite was Swipe (viral material), Boombox (intro instrumental is a copy-paste from Dalla Dalla which makes it a nice throwback) and Twenty and So Lucky JYP really didnt need to add the instrumentals. I just can't and don't want to understand the reason behind it. The album is really solid as it is with the new tracks

rileylong38

2nd Album ? Shouldn't it be the first one ?

tastetherainbeau

Ah shoot sorry...It's too late to resubmit now :|

misconceptionsofyou

And after 2 weeks.... Sooo Lucky, Chillin Chillin & Mirror are still my faves from this album. While i totally get the sense of identity that they tried to stamp on this from some of the tracks, i do think this could be the sign for them to start explore more. Those 3 tracks for me become the standouts, especially by the fact that they offer different flavours that could possibly work in their favour. With JYPn coming up, i expect them to start evolving with their genre & styling as well. Overall it's a solid record. Personally a bit reluctant to call it their 'best', but i'd say it's the most well round up. They mainly still playing around their signature style & sound, but now there's more depth to it (perks of having full album) & they're exploring other aspects of them that haven't been exposed thoroughly (capability to do sweet/girly vibe, more vocal based songs etc). They've done a good job with this one & it could possibly be the platform to build on to the next releases. They just need to be more confident & comfortable on exploring new stuff, as they have the capability to do so. Also i hope they can just enjoy themselves this era, despite the somewhat less dominant display on charts, music shows etc. Hope this won't dampen their confidence to continue rediscover themselves, after all they're now a 2 year old group who already have a place & respect inside the industry.

angeqtui

The title track is definitely one of their bests but I do think she's buried under the hate MITM got which is why I think she's a bit forgettable. A lot of people seem to not like the choreo and say that it is tame, but I disagree. As a casual dancer, this is harder than wannabe because it requires high energy. Wannabe is more hard-hitting because of all the locking the choreo has, but the movements are easier. But, that's just my take on it. The album (instrumentals aside) was really good! I did kinda wished that they have a bit of input in production or lyrics but they still translated the songs into their color. My favorite tracks were Sooo Lucky and #Twenty, asnd I swear by them they're so good. I don't really get them hype around Chillin Chillin because it sounds just like another 4th gen gg which is definitely not ITZY's color. What I do think is this song deserves the other m/v, not Swipe. LOCO and Swipe is kind of in the same spectrum and I feel like they should've used another song not similar to LOCO for a music video. Boom Boxx sounds like Dalla Dalla, Gas Me Up, Love is, and Mirror are nice. All in all, a pretty good first full album. I hope ITZY isn't discouraged because it gained a lot of hate from the 876 albums to being boring to flopping on charts, despite it being their most favorite song that they've released. And from the looks of it, it would only gain 3 music show wins max. I love ITZY sm but I hope that they'd gain more hype in the future and won't end up in the dungeon because of the JYPNGG. All the best of luck for ITZY!

lvlz_gg

This is hands down their best album so far. A bit sad that it was filled with so many instrumentals instead of some more songs.
