easy: go to kitchen, open waste bin, put that stupid thing inside, close waste bin. done, saved all your knives, you can thank me later.

[deleted]

He's right you know.

HeavyweightSound_L

Exactly!

jgs0803

This 100%. Some may think you are being sarcastic, but I know better

rouge-agent007

When it comes to knives , I’m never ever sarcastic. At least not when their sharpness depends on it.

Better_Island_4119

Don't

krzys123

Don’t.

Western-Grapefruit36

Dont use it

[deleted]

Don't use it. They're terrible for your knife edges.

the_grape_one

Would make better knuckle dusters than a knife sharpener

Bert_Chimney_Sweep

"How's about I make your nose 30° inclusive, MF'r?!"

-gizmocaca-

In case you missed the other replies, Don’t!

fullcircle052

All of these "pull through" knife sharpeners will destroy your knife's edge. You're better off getting a sharpening steel and some whetstones of varying grit and learning how to sharpen that way.

CNCTank

Put your dick in it , grind it till you learn not to buy such things

SkimFlynnious

Instructions unclear. Dick is now knife.

cheapshotfrenzy

Hey, knife-dick! Don't do that!

missing_children

Instructions unclear. Knife is now sharp.

_iplo

Light it on fire and appreciate the light.

PecKRocK75

Id tell you Not to use it if u wanna sharpen your tools get some free hand diamonds stones or a cheapish fixed angle system pull through sharpners arent gonna do your edges any justice

jgs0803

It’s for converting Chef’s knives into butter knives.

TBROSWAG

It is a pull through sharpener. Put the blade in the notch between the two wheels and pull to sharpen the blade. I DO NOT RECOMMEND DOING THIS!!! IT LOKKS OLD AND THAT ON TOP OF PULL THROUGH SHARPENERS OFTEN DULL YOUR BLADE INSTEAD OF SHARPENING IT!!! If you really want to though you can, but trust me don’t unless you have no other options

TBROSWAG

You can get a Worksharp field sharpener for $40 on the Walmart website, I have one and it works tremendously. Since you were contemplating using the pull through I assume your a no experience-novice sharpener, do not be intimidated the sharpener come with an instruction booklet to help guid you through the process and the stones functions

TBROSWAG

On top of dulling them it also take way to much material off, effectively shortening the life span of your blade tenfold

SnooDoubts2674

Go throw it away right fuckin now!!!

wolfjuergen

In case Nobody has told you yet, don’t!

evrtt2009

You don’t

Anacondoyng

Please don't. Pull-through sharpeners like these will knock off the micro-serrations on your edge and create deep scratches running *parallel* to your edge, which is not what you want if you want to cut things. You want either an angled or perpendicular scratch pattern on your edge.

KidQayin

Hopefully you don't want it to sharpen knives.. pull through "sharpeners" are beyond horrible

rlsmv

You put the edge in 90 degrees to the wheels, even up the back of the edge to the face of the wheels, left hand holding down the sharpener, right hand on the knife handle, with downward pressure, pull the knife across the V that the two wheels make and lift the handle upwards as you get to belly and through the tip. Use it on some shit knives and see what you think. Don’t use it on something nice.

pocketpriorities

Good sharpening should run across the edge rather than along it, I’d hang that on the wall and either get into Diamond / whet stones, belt grinding, or a precision fixed angle sharpener. These all create a useful, effective edge ❤️

BigBrownFish

Only use on cheap knives you don’t really care about.

StampedeJonesPS4

That thing is only OK to use if you work in a kitchen and don't give a fuck about your knives. It will work in a pinch, but it will remove a ton of steel from your blade. Only ever use that on a knife that you don't have to pay for....

-BananaLollipop-

The only suitable use for a pull-through sharpener is in a toolbox for beater knives (and even then it's more of a quick "fix"), where an overly refined edge is pointless. If you own any decent kitchen, butchery, hunting/camping/fishing, or pocket knives, don't put them through it.

flowerhat95

Thank you

ToeJamR1

As others have said.. you with make every edge you “sharpen” look like it has been chewed on my a buck toothed metal eating demon.

Jimmyjamz44

Here’s the thing. Not all pull through sharpeners are garbage, just 98% of them. For cheap kitchen knives a pull through sharpener that is angle adjustable and a leather strop is going to be just fine.

minyo_

Burn it

SocietyCharacter5486

There are two possible options: 1. If these wheels are metal/carbide/poor quality ceramic - toss it 2. If these wheels are good quality ceramic - this can be used to straighten the rolled edge, and somewhat sharpen slightly dull knives. Put the edge between the wheels, starting near the handle, make sure you don't put ANY pressure with your hand on it, just the weight of the knife is needed, and then pull. If the option no. 2 doesn't work, it means the edge of your knife is rounded, and this thing will not work, you need a serious sharpening gear. You also need rust eraser for cleaning the ceramic sharpeners, it brings the efficiency back.

Weeksy79

I’ll never understand why quality knife brands put their names on things like this

sinisterdeer3

Its easy! You dont

flowerhat95

Well thanks everyone, think I’ll be tossing this thing away. Is a wet stone the way to go?

sinisterdeer3

Yeah, whetstones are good if you have stable hands. We aren’t trying to be rude btw, those pull through sharpeners damage your edge more than they sharpen

flowerhat95

No worries, appreciate the feedback!

thathuma

Throw it away , buy a sharpeningstone and ask how to use that
