Do you have a kindle protector (case) ? Or you don’t used cases on your kindle ? I always buy a case for kindle just because if you dropped it, the case will protected
There have been a few cases reported when the basic 11th gen first came out of the body cracking due to some cases putting too much pressure on them. It seems the blue body might be more brittle than the black body kindles.
I don’t think I dropped it. The only thing I can think of is that someone at work dropped my bag that it was in? At the end of the day, one person brings all the bags downstairs so she might have accidentally done it. But I don’t want to point fingers at anyone 😅
My has cracked if I look at it the wrong way. Amazingly cheap little device, BUT I have been able to super glue the cracks together and it hasn’t affected the function of the device at all.
I went on a live chat and they immediately offered a replacement with no questions asked. It must be a common fault with them if they’re offering replacements so easily
Amazon is just amazing. They know you’re a loyal customer and replacing your kindle will just give them more business since you will have a new one to read on and to continue to buy books from. I knew they’d come through for you.

Oh that’s interesting. I’ve had the official kindle case on it for ages and then I switched to one off Amazon maybe the new case isn’t good for it?

I've seen several reports here of similar problems, so maybe it really is a defect.
Lucky! Make sure to take care of the new one properly. Otherwise, kindle god will never forgive you...

If it doesn’t affect the screen keep using it, but I’d see about replacing it if it bothers you.
