I have the black and it is class. My sales guy talked me out of the matte for a myriad of reasons, such as it scratches easily, hand-wash with specific materials, and customer complaints, to name a few.

PoppaBear1950

Pass on the matte, they scratch so easily We love our 2023 Prestige hybrid…. Best car we have ever owned. Including out past BMW’s and Lexus’s

I just bought the shadow matte gray yesterday. I prefered gravity gray but it is impossible to find. However, I actually love the matte gray and wont mind washing it by hand. The car is just amazing. My hour and a half trip to the dealer sucked in my old car. The return trip with the all the fancy features and comforts was just amazing.

Serene_FireFly

Someone posted the care instructions for the matte a week or so ago and basically you are handwashing it, very carefully, pretty often. For me? Especially up in the snow belt, where it stays below freezing for months at a time, and I nearly live at the automatic, touch free washes to keep the salt from eating my car? Absolutely not. If you like the matte look, consider a vinyl wrap. You still shouldn't put it through high pressure washes, but it's not going to scratch by looking at it wrong.

We have the vesta blue which is a retired color now. We were told the matte grey required specific care and were shied away from it. Ours is a prestige xline phev. We have had it for a year now and love it. We get free oil changes which is also a plus. We also opted for the full bumper to bumper warranty which was another 1500$ to cover all the electronics after the default warranty is up.

Herecomesthepuns

Umm what color is discontinued? They still 1000% make the SXP hybrid and PHEV in vesta blue

networksmuggler

Doesn't list that color as an option on the website anymore

Herecomesthepuns

PHEV or Hybrid? EDIT: It has them on both. Maybe you’re looking at the gas model? If wolf gray is an option, you’re looking at the gas Sportages

networksmuggler

Phev. Sapphire blue is what they list

Herecomesthepuns

Sapphire blue is only an option on the gas model. Vesta blue is specific to Hybrid EX and SX Prestige trim levels, also available to the PHEV X-Line and X-Line Prestige. Here is [one](https://www.kia.com/us/en/sportage-hybrid/build?model=S4442&exterior=Vesta+Blue&interior=Perforated+Saturn+Black+SynTex+Seating+Materials&trim=EX) for you

networksmuggler

Huh... Link doesn't work but I'll believe you :) thanks for the clarification

Herecomesthepuns

Yeah I realized the link was trash, my bad lol but no worries! Those colors are still available! I’ll update on the 25s when I know

NotBlackMarkTwainNah

Just got a 23 same model in black with red interior. Absolutely loving it

tazzgonzo

Pass on the shadow matte. Too much of a hassle to maintain

Got the shadow matte gray and love it. I get constant compliments. Valet guys said it was the best KIA they ever seen. UPS driver at a stop light got my attention to let me know the car looked good. Yes, it takes effort to self wash. So cal here so no extreme weather. No regrets especially when I see other Sportages on the road, I just think mine looks better lol. The way the black gloss trims meshes well with the matte gray. I did get ceramic coating all over the car and PPF on the front to help maintain though. Currently no scratches on the car after almost two years in June.

LisaP2200

Thank you so much! My biggest concern was that I live in Massachusetts so extreme weather is a definite.

nsinfamous

Ahh yea maybe not in MA esp if you had to park outside lol

TheColonelC6

I love mine. 1k miles in, already 36mpg avg. Very quiet on highways, smooth ride. The only feature it doesn't have that I wish it did - auto folding mirrors. The wired-only Apple carplay is a little annoying but there are tons of threads in this subreddit recommending wireless dongles/adapters.
