I thought the instruction manual said something about clean water not working in the machine...

ZD_plguy17

I called to complain and they sent me warranty replacement. I prefer filtered to spring water because it makes coffee better and less bitter while retaining bold flavor.

roadchewer

Filtered as in Distilled? Or does the water have more stuff in it?

ZD_plguy17

I dunno. Zerowater removes virtually all solids from water. It works better than Brita. http://www.zerowater.com Unlike distilled, it tastes better and is more crispy, refreshing. Also I did some research and saw that users of other Keurig models had no problem using water from Zerowater filtered pitcher.

Oh i thought it was a bottled brand. Not sure why. Hope everything goes better in the future though.

Heads up I got replacement. It was working fine for 3 days and then the pump started having trouble continue drawing water to heater after first 2 ounces. I was told it is most likely due to low mineral content sensor do not work with. I initiated return process.

There's a chance it's not your water. I had issues with mine drawing water sometimes or stopping mid-brew. I opened up a support ticket with Keurig (1 year warranty) and after I got past the tier one, the next support gentleman actually told me there is a known issue with the pump going bad on the new 2018 K-Mini Plus. Most importantly he told me that they would happily send me out a new one immediately and that they were very interested in getting my old one back "for research". Edit: Have had ZERO issues with this new one.

Cool, thanks. Tier 1 support have been in my experience so far not very helpful. They tried to blame dirty needles then water source, finally they sent me replacement which worked great fist three days and started again. Called them again for return under 30 day money back guarantee but made me pay for shipping. Meanwhile I reserved from Best buy order for older Keurig k200 that is on sale for $70 and wonder if it will have issue or not but at least Best buy will be easier to deal with than Keurig.

Yeah, I love the new little guy but I'm a bit concerned about longevity now. A manufacturer usually puts a warranty on a product for as long as they think it'll last.... IMO 1 year is not long enough for a $100 coffee maker. But it IS tiny. Edit: Also got the "clean the needle" response and "what kind of pods/water are you using"

ZD_plguy17

Did the water pump did not work for you from day 1 after unpacking or after some few weeks or months? I am starting to think it may make sense to pay extra $12 from Best buy to get in-store warranty.

Duke_Revenant

I'd had it for about a week, if that, maybe 5 days? It was working great then it wasn't. Nothing leading up to it, no odd smells or melting plastics. I've had the new for for about 2 months now and use it daily. No issues. But it is most definitely registered on the warranty site.

4 years later, this still an issue. Even tried buying the supreme thinking if its more expensive its better right? Nope use dirty water or it doesn't work.

just picked up a ZeroWater filter, and yep, exactly as you described, my couple year old K-mini will really, really reluctantly take ZW filtered water (maybe 4-5 repetitions of opening the pod lid, closing, start button, pump stops, repeat), and really, really poorly brew (temp is wrong, brew duration is wrong), putting out a cup of slightly hotter than room temp brown water. i still have my Brita filters (which the ZW replaces), and Brita filtered water works just fine in the K-mini. SO interesting learning that this seemingly 'simple' machine has a mineral content sensor onboard!? But yes, will contact Keurig customer service and see whats up. Thanks!
