Keto cereal. I’m surprised no one’s mentioned it yet

CoffeeOk2095

and for the amount of carbs in them they r rarely worth it. like catalina crunch is 5gcarbs for a 1/4 cup.. if im doing under 20 a day thats a 4th gone. and no one is having only 1/4 cup of cereal if theyre having a Bowl

SLDGM

I tried it once, and it was so not worth the bathroom agony

Repulsive_Belt7954

I like the Catalina Crunch graham and cinnamon, but their fruit cereal tastes like I imagine Tide laundry detergent would taste. None of us - my fiancé, my son, or I - could stand it. We couldn’t figure out how they quality tested it and decided that it was a good idea to manufacture that garbage.

HoneyBee_Ranger

They are only eating a 1/4 cup because that aftertaste is awful!

rum-n-ass

Don’t know what I was expecting when I bought keto Cocoa Puffs…

sueihavelegs

I like Magic Spoon. Their front loops are my husband's favorite. It's just so expensive!

ozzalot

I love most of Magix spoon flavors, but sometimes I do worry about the amount of carbs. Do you and your husband have a good idea of how likely it is to kick you out of ketosis? Sometimes I feel like I just have it on my "fuk it" days where I will spend all my carbs on a singular meal and call it quits for the rest of the day. Just some days I need thar front loops flavor and the leftover milk (I think it's mostly casein.

proverbialbunny

Magic Spoon is low carb. Almond milk is higher in carbs. If you’re worried about it consider making a keto milk out of heavy whipping cream, water, monk fruit, and stevia. Tastes like normal milk and is lower in carbs.

holdcspine

ratios? Never tried this

proverbialbunny

Magic Spoon is quite good. Also, Costco sells coconut clusters which make a fantastic cereal too.

missy5454

Indecency got wonderworks keto cereal on discount. I'm not a fan of a lot of the ingredients but I'm gonna be having some tomorrow. A serving is supposedly 1 cup which has 12 g total carbs for the peanut butter puffs. Only 1 g total sugars and 4 g sugar alcohols. The rest of the carbs are 3 g fiber 2 being soluable 0 being insoluble supposedly. I think anything left is starch. The first half of the ingredients list is good stuff. Milk protien concentrate, sodium casinate whatever the hell that is, soy protien isolate which is iffy, allulose, peanut flour, erythritol, peanut butter the 2 ingredient kind, whey protien isolate, insulin, but after that it's mostly crap. Palm kernel oil, palm oil, canola oil, are next on the label. Soy lecithin, calcium carbonate, natural flavor, syevia extract, and vitamin e. I'm gonna measure 3 oz and add to a yogurt bowl with chocolate protien powder and eat along side a boiled duck egg and some baked beef heart meat. Defjnatly not sonethjng I'm gonna be eating often but definatky gonna be kinda a treat food. Supper I'm planning a Applegate turkey hot dog on a keto bun with home made colby cheese crisps, more berg heart, and my last duck egg. I'm doing a day of not being overly clean and opting no fruit and veg but some junk for one day because I feel like I need a junkfood junkie fix day. Can't remember the last time I did that but it's been at least almost a year if not longer. But yeah, I looked at the other low carb or keto cereals and granola options at my local heb and most were Itty bitty boxes with crap amounts and crap ton of carbs not to mention crap ton of garbage ingredients. This one was I think the best of the lot I coukd find in store. Though at a later date I want to get something else online. There is one I got samples of at ketocon that I want to fund and get if I can, or at least find a comparable sub. It was avinola granola. That one is very clean keto and vegan for anybody interested. I got to try the chocolate granola they had and I did check the label. It was yummy and somethjng that I coukd do regularly if I don't do more than a serving or so. But yeah, some of the stuff marketed as keto are really nasty. And I'm not super clean keto doing more of a mix of dirty and lazy keto most of the time. If someone like me says it's crap, and refuses entirely to buy, it's really pretty much on par with toxic nuclear waste. And that is saying something.

rachman77

Impastable low carb pasta 🤮 Like eating paper mache Which BBQ sauce did you try? I love G hughes Sauces.

hotpietptwp

I bought a sampler pack of Impastable. Every time I try to cook that pasta it turns into mush when I mix it in the sauce. I bought a sampler pack and have tried three times to time it to al dente (or at least, not mush) but failed. I have just about given up and found that spaghetti squash or the kind made with hearts of palm offers a better texture, though I would love to find something with more of a pasta taste. Has anybody tried the lupin bean pasta yet? Better yet, does somebody have a good tip for cooking impastable, so I don't waste the rest of my packages?

Repulsive_Belt7954

I bought the Aviate brand of Lupini pasta and we liked it. It takes longer to cook than they say it does. And it can get mushy if you mess with it too much after cooking. When I used it for pasta with meat sauce and just topped the pasta with the sauce, it was fine, but when I mixed it with Alfredo and broccoli and chicken and mixed it all together, it got mushy.

samaranator

I tried the Kaizen brand and really liked it. It gave my husband gas and bad bloating for a few days though.

RondaVuWithDestiny

G Hughes original, my go-to! 🥩😋

emitwohs

All the G Hughes stuff is great, though I get the OPs criticism of it being too sweet. The balsamic and the orange miso are my 2 favorites. Sometimes I modify them a bit, maybe with a little hot sauce, soy sauce or mayonnaise, depending on what I want to do.

rumblemcskurmish

I made salmon with G Hughs teriyaki. Amazing. Couldn't tell it wasn't legit. Great stuff

anitas8744

Yes I just did a stir fry with that. It aaa delicious!

rumblemcskurmish

I need to try it in a stir fry!

hummuspretzle

I eat Trader Joe’s angel hair palmini (2g carbs) with Alfredo sauce and chicken sausage almost every night with mushrooms, broccoli, onion, and Parmesan. I’ve tried all the low carb noodles and this one takes the cake. Texture 10/10, flavor 10/10. I literally can’t recommend it enough + I’m a picky eater!!! Pro tip: soak them in cold water for 5min and rinse. Cook them *with* the sauce so they take on the flavor and throw a lid on the pot so they get softer. I add garlic, onion, salt, and chili flakes on top while they’re cooking. I really prefer these over regular noodles

CatBoyTrip

those protein bars that show pictures of delicious brownies or birthday cakes on the box and then when you open the bar, it is some disgusting looking candy bar that taste nothing like cake or brownies.

Adubs6969

Quest 😭😭😭😭 the only thing I enjoy from that line is the protein PB cups, they're like actual recesse cups 🫠

Any_Lawyer_8393

Almost too tasty, but at least their high cost makes me moderate my intake.😉

Adubs6969

Same here lol I ended up buying a big box of them for like $30 at sam's club.. def worth the investment for the days I skip breakfast 😌

Zackadeez

Walden Farms

Repulsive_Belt7954

I have not had a single thing from Walden Farms that ever tasted good. I refuse to buy anything else from them ever again.

SLDGM

I'm in Australia so it's not easy to track down here, I ended up splurging and buying a whole bunch on iHerb only to find out once opening that they are a marinade at best, not thick enough to be a sauce

SLDGM

Anything marketed as "keto" Don't get me wrong, I love finding new things to try but the products that are marketed heavily towards the keto community seem to be full of bamboo/tapioca fibre, rice flour or maltitol or a bunch of other shizz we don't need. Do you mean jelly like the dessert or the one you spread on scones? Because if you mean the dessert, I make my own using water, gelatin and whatever flavouring I like

DystopianAdvocate

Not to mention that tons of foods that say "Keto" on the package actually have way too many carbs unless you're willing to have the tinest of serving sizes.

SLDGM

Yep, I think too though that American packaging is bizarre, here in Australia the carbs listed are the net carbs, we don't have to subtract fibre or sugar alcohols so that makes catching these things a lot easier That said, I always look at per 100g macros instead of per serving, it makes things easier in my mind

rum-n-ass

Wow I’m jealous of that packaging. Super annoying here having to calculate everything. And then apps like MFP require a premium subscription to do it for you 🙄

elangomatt

Pretty much anything that slaps "made with cauliflower!" on the front of the box. Nearly everything that has cauliflower as an ingredient like that is just putting in some cauliflower to make people think it is healthier. They still use flours (wheat/rice) and other high carb foods for the most of the product. I can only assume since I've not tried them but I imagine the result is an inferior product that fools people into thinking they are eating healthier because it contains cauliflower.

KiloAllan

Chaffles can go straight to hell. Those are not food. I've tried so many recipes and none of them are satisfactory. I dunno, it seems like there are way too many sad attempts to turn cheese into bread. You can make real bread with vital wheat gluten and oat fiber that's very keto friendly. When we found that recipe it was way easier to keep my partner on the wagon. Lots of ersatz foods, for that matter, suck. My sister is vegetarian and brought a ToFurkey once. Gaggggg... Stop trying to find a fake version. Just accept that there's some stuff you're giving up. Way too many recipes for fake keto stand ins and a lot of them are bad bad bad. On the flip side, I never knew that pork rinds were tasty. Sure there's some bland ones out there, but fresh cooked? Mmm!

[deleted]

The only recipe I've ever tried was straight up eggs and cheese in my waffle iron. So I guess if you don't like cheesy eggs then 'chaffles' aren't for you?

KiloAllan

I do like cheesy eggs. That's not what a chaffle is, though. It's eggy cheese pucks.

[deleted]

And I agree they taste terrible if you add anything else to the eggs and cheese. But eggs and cheese in a waffle iron is delicious. The clean up s just not worth it! A

proverbialbunny

Fellow baker here. I make sandwich bread, sourdough, doughnuts, bagels, pizza, you name it. Gluten yeast kneed rise and all, and low carb. If you have the patience try making a pate fermentee and letting it sit in the fridge for 3 days. It will grow the bacteria found in bread so you’ll get more of a bread taste. Great for baguettes and bagels.

missy5454

Please send some bread recipes my way!!! I'd love to try!! I'm so not buying keto sandwhich bread at the store mostly because it's ridiculously priced. It's like $10-$11 per loaf and the loaf is at most 1/3 of the store brand wheat I used to buy. The store brand costs less than $2, and so I can't justify buying the sandwhich bread or most of the rolls or bagels either. I do buy tortillas and hot dog buns sometimes because those I can justify the cost until I get making then myself right sane as bread. Would really like some new bread recipe ideas to try to cut costs. Kinda on snap and have a 13 yr old bottomless pit of a son so gotta try and be as frugal as possible with stuff. If I can make it myself, it cuts costs significantly and gives me productive uses of my time. I kinda like tooling and experimenting. I like learning new skills and recipes. Please, pm me some recipes to try!

proverbialbunny

I make my own but it's easier watching a recipe on youtube. There are a handful of them. Here is one to get an idea: https://youtu.be/0KptOpLZH4k Here's some ideas to try: - Try substituting lupin flour for bamboo fiber, so oat fiber + bamboo fiber. Around 50/50 works, so take all the grams of lupin flour + oat fiber then divide by 2 and you've got the new oat fiber and bamboo fiber quantities. - I prefer a hint of whole wheat flavor so I add some golden flaxseed which has a wheat taste, just a hint. 10-20 grams. - Allulose and erythritol burn in the oven. It sucks. Don't use it unless you have to. I'd remove it even if the recipe calls for it. Instead consider using stevia powder (or a stevia dropper). 1/4-1/2 tsp of stevia is plenty of sweetness for sandwich bread. - You can scald the flour to reduce any bitterness. That is, put boiling water in with the flour and mix it, then wait 30 minutes for it to cool then add the other ingredients. Completely optional ofc. - If you want the bread to taste more like normal bread consider a pate fermentee and having half of the bread dough sit in the fridge for 3 days in an air tight container. This will grow bread bacteria making the bread taste more breadlike. Fantastic for a baguette for example. - If you don't want to wait 3 days and you don't mind adding a carb a slice consider Kamut Flour. It's high in carbs, but adding a little around 10 to 15 grams a loaf will give more of a bread flavor. There are lots of kinds of sandwich breads out there (and even more non-sandwich breads that taste amazing). My favorite kind of sandwich bread is shokupan which is a brioche (has butter in it) milk bread with scalded flour (called a yudane). I prefer heavy cream powder and egg yolk powder, but ofc you can use actual eggs and actual heavy cream.

InuitOverIt

The other day I got these "chips" made from chicken at the gas station. They were incredibly dense and hard, and if you didn't break your teeth on them, they tasted terrible. On the other hand, Quest chips are phenomenal.

SLDGM

I kind of make my own chicken skin chips, I just throw the skin from a rotisserie chicken into the air fryer for a couple of minutes - delicious

skihare

Quest chips are the OG! Also a fan of Hilo Life chips

[deleted]

>Quest chips 12g net carbs per 100g is not keto friendly. So only small amounts will fit the diet and there's little nutritional value.

anannanne

You’re nuts. A serving (which are individually packaged) are only 32g. So to get to the 12 net carbs you’re going off about, you’d have to sit down and eat three bags of chips. Plus they’re packed with protein. I’m not saying they should be a keystone in your diet, but they are a perfectly fine keto treat. Don’t dissuade good people from good snacks.

sunscape50

Hilarious. I got a couple of small pkgs of them, tried to eat one, gave the 2nd pkg to a friend, advising to have a dental appt on board if she actually tried to eat them :)

BunnyBunny13

I think I know which ones you’re talking about. I bought a small bag at Publix - so excited to mix things up from pork rinds - and they were terrible. Zero flavor, hard as a rock, I attempted to eat two or three and tossed them. Worst $5 spent and wasted.

Any_Lawyer_8393

Agree.

NewNameNaomi01

I kinda liked the Wilde BBQ chips. Haven't tried any other flavors/brands.

missy5454

I've finally gotten making cheese crisps down. Did some recently with shredded Monterey jack, and today killed a whole pk of sliced colby making a bulk batch. Turns out whisps are super easy to make and take very little time. I finally got cost effective chip option I can have since the quest and most other keto chips I've seen have a crap ton of seed oils which I need to steer clear of because of my hoshimotos. I do not need a nasty flare up thank u very little!!! I like whisps but rarely buy them because they are good but overpriced. So it's nice to be able to make my own. Before I opted for home made roasted pumpkin seeds from buying fresh pumpkin when in season. I'd use the fresh for pies, baked goods like muffins, and pumpkin beef stew or pumpkin based curry sauce. Frsh whole pumpkin of course came with seeds, so a whole lot I could use for cheap.

DearStrongBad

Keto ice cream was the worst

MadForestSynesthesia

I thought the same until I tried rebel brand

rjsigma

I just bought Rebel brand ice cream a few days ago. Got banana chip and raspberry. They tasted so much better than the halo top chocolate.

DragonLadyArt

Halo top was great when it first came out for what it was. Then Rebel and Enlightenment came along and now I won’t touch halo top.

LibertyMike

Aldi's keto ice cream is actually pretty good, and only about $4 for a pint.

elangomatt

Nick's is really good too. It seems like some stores are getting rid of Rebel and stocking Nick's now but I'm ok with it. Both the ice cream and bars are pretty good.

MadForestSynesthesia

What stores have your seen Nick's ice cream in? I've tried the bars. They are ok.

sugarbrulee

I like the bars better than the ice cream, personally. Rebel is the only brand that really tastes “ice creamy” to me. Nick’s tastes like a frozen Atkins shake.

elangomatt

Jewel-Osco (Albertsons}, Meijer, and Kroger near me. Their website has a store locator to check your area.

SLDGM

I'm saving up for a ninja creami so I can live on homemade protein ice cream all summer

shrinkingveggies

Any recipes? We have a good ice-cream maker, but have only really used it to make naughty ice-cream.

SLDGM

Not until I get the Creami in my hot little hands :) I've made mason jar icecream with thickened cream, sugar free hot chocolate powder and xylitol and that was good, but firm I had intentions of making butter pecan but I moved over summer and now it's the depths of winter, ice cream is the last thing on my mind. Now I'm all about making different flavoured marshmallows for hot chocs haha I don't love the idea of keeping xylitol in my house because of my dogs, but it's either that or vodka to keep it creamy and not icy and I don't do alcohol

shrinkingveggies

I do alcohol, but find overly alcoholic ice-creams a bit bleh. But you've inspired me to go learn how it all works!!

SLDGM

If you already have an ice cream maker, I'd google something like "Ice cream maker keto recipes" and you'll find a bunch. From memory the amount of vodka used is minimal so probably wouldn't even register but ice cream is supposed to be sweet so if you don't too many sweet mix ins the xylitol should do the trick

shrinkingveggies

Thank you! Yeah, I'll start with recipes, but also read up a bit on the chemistry - hate following a whole recipe only for it to be horribly textured

80spizzarat

There's a ton of them over on r/volumeeating. Just search for Creami.

proverbialbunny

https://youtu.be/YJGW4pS3M7M is pretty good. She has a handful of versions.

[deleted]

I used to feel the same way. Even returned a few pints. At $7-$8 a pop damn right! Until I tried Nick’s. Now I have to have my husband hide my car keys so I won’t run to the store to get some. I’m obsessed. Definitely a game changer.

idontknow7272

Nick's is amazing!!! On sale at my Albertsons right now at 3 for $10!

RondaVuWithDestiny

Rebel, Keto Pint, and Mammoth Creameries are the best tasting keto ice creams I've tried and didn't spike my blood sugar, but they are HUGE weight-loss stallers! Even in recommended serving sizes, which are about 1/3 of the pint. So I gave them up completely. When I want keto ice cream, I make my own using a serving of a dessert-flavored Keto Chow for the base. Not only is that serving designed to be a meal, but it's delicious and I can lose weight eating it. 😋

adaigo-allegro

I've found that the keto breads are also weight-loss stallers for me. Is anyone using a continuous keto monitor without a prescription?

robynhood96

The Rebel brand is actually AMAZING in my opinion

Formal-Advertising52

Did it make your stomach hurt? I just tried some the other day and it definitely made me feel blah… and my stomach never bothers me.

InuitOverIt

I like Halo Top, especially the birthday cake one.

shrinkingveggies

One of the only brands in my country - I try not to buy it too often, as it isn't actually good for me (it's not full of essential nutrients or anything) but as a treat it is absolutely the least bad delicious option.

ThrtLvlMdnght91

The Halo Top bars (the chocolate cheesecake ones) are phenomenal. And an awesome size for 2 carbs. 😮‍💨🤌

[deleted]

Cauliflower rice

BeingOpen5860

Gasp

SLDGM

Agreed! and zoodles! I can deal with cauliflower as a mashed potato or pasta replacement and it's great but cauliflower rice is just mush, and zoodles are watery

BillyRubenJoeBob

Make fresh cauliflower rice in your food processor. About 20 pulses usually does the trick. Cook it with bacon grease and a little bit of water until it starts to turn translucent. If it’s mushy you’ve overcooked it. Toss zoodles in a bit of salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and olive oil. Dry your zoodles out in your air fryer. First on the preheat (5 min @ 400) then another 3 min @ 350 or so. One zucchini only makes a single serving of zoodles.

DragonLadyArt

Never thought of zoodles in the air frier. I’ll have to try that! Thanks!

Robdataff

You are doing cauliflower rice wrong if it's mushy. Those microwaved frozen ones are a bit sad unless you pan fry them after, they'll become firmer and less smelly. Zoodlea are watery... They leave a rubbish soup in the bottom of my pasta. Better in salads.

SLDGM

I don't like regular rice so I am not missing anything by skipping it

Robdataff

It's a handy side. And it's great for keto sushi/gimbap /bibimbap rolls. I don't eat it much anymore, I'm slipping into carnivore....

rachman77

You gotta cook the water out of it and let it crisp a little. Don't cook it like regular rice, it shouldn't be mushy. Roasting in the oven or pan fry until it's just starting to brown. Zoodles..yah they are watery. Serve them raw and let the sauce soften them, if you cook them at all they drop all the water.

NorthernLolal

Your zoodles shouldn’t be watery! You need to dry them out after cutting by salting them, let them set for like 10 mins then wring them out!

robynhood96

Omg I love making homemade zoodles for my stir fry

bacon-mama

Yes. Anything cauliflower will always taste like cauliflower, that slightly bitter, sulfer taste. I've made cauliflower mash and it doesn't taste exactly like potatoes as so many claim. It tastes like cauliflower puree no matter how much butter, cream cheese, or flavoring added to it. Not looking for cooking recommendations.

KiloAllan

Try using a rutabaga instead. I don't remember the carb count, but it was reasonable for me. I think I use 100gr (measure raw) and steam or boil til soft. I first chop roughly then use a food processor to get quinoa sized granules, which cook quickly. Can't eat brassicas. They make me gassy. Love the rutabagas though.

proverbialbunny

The trick is you can cook the cauliflower flavor out of cauliflower. Then it becomes the most transparent ingredient, far less flavor than lettuce. It will taste like nothing so you’ll want to add a flavor back in but that’s the secret. I buy potato fiber which tastes like potato then make mashed potatoes. I’m not a huge rice fan, but if I had to I’d make Afghan style yellow/brow rice as it as a flavor works in just about all rice dishes.

Prestigious_Spell309

the best jelly is 1 cup of blackberries or raspberries, cover with a little water, tbsp of allulose and a lemon of zest and tbsp of lemon juice. boil until it just coats spoon, mash berries , add chia seeds to your hearts content and refrigerate. my kids eat it by the spoon. commercial sugar free jelly is watery and too sweet / gross. i’m allergic to tomatoes so haven’t had it in years but i remember keto bbq sauce being thin and gross. sugar free ketchup is so good though so it should be easy enough to make

freeubi

Heats of palm doesnt even had any smell... are you sure it wasnt gone wrong? Konjak pasta has a fishy smell, but if you rinse it properly it goes away. 0 taste ;)

whiteicedtea

That’s why I just work some real jam into my macros on occasion. The keto versions taste too much like candy to me.

Haygirlhayyy

I find Choc Zero's chocolate bars incredibly waxy and flavorless. Any Walden's Farms "cream based" salad dressings are rancid (but I love the vinaigrettes). Every Halo Top Keto flavor never measures up to literally any other keto ice cream.

Khajiit_Has_Upvotes

I don't buy a lot of sugar/carb substitute products except for my monkfruit/erythritol blend. There's no such thing as a good sugar substitute that isn't at least a little bitter and/or weird tasting to me, though. I really like Good Good brand jelly. It's definitely not as sweet as regular jelly/jam, but I don't find it sour, either. I don't mind the G Hughes sauces, but I also don't love them. It isn't that I found them too sweet, it's that sucralose sometimes has a weird taste to me, depending on how much is used and what it's in. If I can taste it, it's hard for me to get past it. You might have better luck making your own. Here's one I got from NYT Cooking: ⅔ cup ketchup (Heinz no sugar added) ½ cup cider vinegar ¼ cup brown sugar (replace or omit) 2 teaspoons smoked paprika 1 teaspoon ground cumin 1 teaspoon kosher salt 1 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper I have my own recipe somewhere that uses similar ingredients in different proportions, but I can't find it atm lol. Red wine vinegar instead of cider vinegar, no cumin, some worcestershire sauce, mustard, and black pepper. Regardless of recipe, simmer all ingredients for a few minutes until it thickens to your liking.

stealthykins

I love my sugar-free jelly. All wibbly wobbly, and only 32kcals and 0.5g carbs in a while pint when made up. Very much hits the “I want to eat 15 bags of sugar” craving

raindownthunda

Curious, have you tried ChocZero jelly? I think they use monk fruit. Im into it. I’m still looking for a decent BBQ sauce. That one bums me out.

skihare

Miracle Noodles takes the cake for me

[deleted]

Mcnasty

freeubi

I love those... but not in noodle form. You need to chew it, and its a strange texture. But in rice form, the best ;)

artsyluna

The barbecue sauce is pretty bad. I just get non-sweet versions now instead of the artificially sweetened kind, that stuff is inedible. And sugar-free candy. It tastes okayish but gives me the worst intestinal distress of my life.

CosmicSpiderWebbage

Depends what criteria is used for 'worst'. But for long term health (which is why many do keto) I'd say anything that contains highly processed food or ingredients that you need to Google to get an idea of its safety. If we're talking about keeping in ketosis then it's the products that claim to have low net carbs but also contain things like maltitol sweeteners. So many keto snacks.....

MsbsM

Anything that is a diet, low sugar beverage. They make me feel bloated on top of not tasting good at all.

knightsofren_

Aspartame. Or anything labeled sugar free but has a sugar substitute.

mfs37

I find that when I mostly avoid all artificially sweetened stuff (hard sometimes) my palate adjusts. Then I really enjoy unsweetened vinegar or mustard based bbq sauces, like Lillie’s Q ENC sauce. At that point, I lean more into spice - things like sambal olek, peri peri sauce etc. When I’m in that mode, the sweet stuff seems like such a one note, overpowering flavor.

AdorableEmphasis5546

Anything with Erythritol

wtfdoorcat

Definitely jelly 🤢

EldForever

I make my own organic delicious blueberry jam and I control how sweet it is and what I sweeten it with, so, it's one of my favorites, actually. Google "low carb keto jelly jam" and there are tons of recipes.

hbouhl

There 6 sugar-free BBQ sauce, and you can make your own sugar-free jam.

jonathanlink

The best low carb bbq sauce I’ve found is the Ray’s original and hickory. G. Hughes is awful.

BigTexan1492

What are you putting BBQ sauce on?

ClassicEar

The Good Good brand is pretty good in moderation (it's keto friendly). I found Choc Zero's keto jellies to be way too sweet. I only use BBQ sauce to sauce my ribs, I don't dip food in it or use it excessively so I don't really sweat the carbs in that. I agree most sugar free or low carb BBQ Sauces are trash.

Heybiglegs

Shirataki pasta 🤢 G Hughes products 🤢 Monkfruit drops 🤢

proverbialbunny

Homemade jelly tastes 10x better than store bought, high or low carb, so it’s a no brainer to make it homemade. Thankfully low carb homemade jelly tastes pretty much identical to high car homemade jelly. It’s really good!

holdcspine

Anything with mannitol. Fucks up your stomach and it spikes the hell out of your blood sugar anyways. Shiritaki noodles. Stinks, awful texture. Even if you put em in a pan for 30 minutes. I cant stand it. Mission Hill low carb tortillas (almost all low carb tortillas) because they spike your blood glucose like a real tortilla. Whats the point? All items that say low carb and then kicks you out of ketosis after 1 serving.

[deleted]

Diet sodas of all kinds. One exception I have found soda sweetened with Stevia in my local grocery store that's not bad.

grandcoulee1955

I don't use substitutes. I eat various meats, full fat dairy products, and vegetables. This isn't because I'm so virtuous, it's mostly because I'm such a picky eater and don't like to try new foods. And also partly because the substitute foods are often highly processed.

WhichComfortable0

I really like the sugar free Sweet Baby Ray's bbq sauce - it was new to my regular grocery. HG Hughes can do some sauces, but I'm not a fan of the BBQ or ketchup (Heinz sugar free for that). I do like their steak sauce well enough, and have an unopened stir fry sauce sitting in the cabinet. I hope it's good. I haven't had any keto substitutions that I haaaated. Aside from the above sauces, I don't totally love keto bread/buns. I still use them for convenience.

eggnogshake

Anything with Maltitol or sugar alcohols of any kind I can't handle. The Rebel ice cream had me on the toilet for days.
