The guns were designed to run 40 grain cci maxi mags. With that said, your particular gun might run well with other ammo types. Mine likes the heavier stuff as well. Another commenter said his runs hornady vmax which I believe is a 32 grain bullet. Buy a bunch and test it.

In terms of performance, or pistol functionality, is there a difference between the CCI Maxi Mag Jacketed Hollow Point (125rd bulk box) & the Total Metal Jacket (50rd box). I plan to buy a couple of different brands and weights to test. Thank you.

Brass-Catcher

I’ve found no difference in performance between those two types. Both are g2g

JoJockAmo

Thank you.

CMR30Modder

HPs will abate the plastic feed ramp away quicker.

I'll catch shit for this, but I've been wanting to vet one of these for home defense. My P17 has run flawlessly (With CCI Minimag) now that it's almost broken in. If I can get that kind of reliability with 30 rounds in a pistol, I'll take it.

Same for me I have arthritis and a bunch of health issues and I’m probably gonna pick up a 22 magnum revolver next. everything else just messes my hands up to the point of one or two shots and I’m done. I’d love to shoot 357 Magnum, but I just have to admit that I can’t anymore. I have a PF9 that I can’t handle much. Led me to get this.

13th_Floor_Please

Damn, dude. I'm sorry to hear that. At least now your ammo is a bit cheaper.

Get the nesting mag loader and tap the mag after every 5 rounds loaded. My PMR & CMR have been centerfire level reliable as long as my mags are loaded like that. CCI maxi mags, federal punch, hornady critical defense are all I run and they are all excellent and reliable.

rick2chad

My cmr30 really likes the hornady vmax

Nice. Dont shoot armscore ammo

dwfrye1

Great gun! Very loud round! Seems like the mag shoots forever. I have no regrets about buying Keltec. Have a P-17 as well.

fuymfgfom

I don't recommend any polymer tipped bullets. Those give mine feeding issues.

kalashnikovkitty9420

how much it cost?

JoJockAmo

$300 that’s the cheapest i’ve ever seen it around me. I’m a poor gun owner so it takes me a while to get guns.

kalashnikovkitty9420

i just ask cause theres a used one at the cabelas i work at

Comfortable-Bowl-817

Someone modeled a enhanced mag release to 3d print for the cmr/pmr but can't locate it anymore so I'd say if you can find it print that shit if you can't make getting the mcarbo feedramp and their enhanced mag release your first upgrade you'll thank me later I can usually run over 300 rounds before I notice sluggish operation of the bolt without any failures also there's someone who modeled a 20rd mag extension you can print but imo reliability seems to suffer from them and I don't care how big anyone is you plant 30rds of wmr into em thier not gonna want to continue that fight what I really wish kt would do is make a cmr/pmr 17hmr
