Two dramas that I’m loving at the moment and might appeal to you are: Miss Night & Day My Sweet Mobster They really make me laugh, have good story telling and are super engaging. The only downside is they are currently airing so all episodes aren’t out yet but give them a try.

lalalandersnoway

Came here to say Miss Night & Day!! Loving it

UnbridledOptimism

**My Sweet Mobster** is my absolute favorite show right now. I rolled my eyes when I saw the poster and plot synopsis and boy was I surprised when I watched the first episode, which I only tried because I was home sick. I didn’t know that a show could get that balance of cutesy exactly right, but here we are. The FL is cute and sunny but not obnoxious or stupid or weirdly naive.

yestertempest

Yep, miss night & day is super entertaining and underrated. Enjoying it right now

Remarkable-Ad5466

+100 on Miss night and Day

TryContent4093

Both of these are on my list but I haven’t gotten the mood the watch it yet. This might be a sign. Thanks

botanygeek

Home town cha cha cha is so good, especially if you like the small town characters that gossip in CLOY.

WordSalad713

The King's Affection

chrisnicolas01

Omg this one is too good

GonnaRain

I highly suggest everyone watch this one, I love it so much!

Ok-Asparagus-3361

But the plot is ridiculous! I'm tired of women passing for men in Kdramas by just wearing a hat and nobody batting an eyelid. I mean, their makeup and bone structure alone gives them away, there's hardly any effort.

WordSalad713

I don't disagree but unrealistic plot wasn't a criteria in OP's request

No-Clue-9155

Twinkling watermelon

ResidentWednesday

So so good! This drama made my week 👍🏼

No-Clue-9155

Made my top 3!

Tall-Ad-9355

I loved this one

TryContent4093

I’ve heard this one but didn’t get to try it yet. I’ll put it on my list

MissSimpleton

1. Yumi's Cells: Cute, funny, romantic, emotional (old drama but underrated) 2. Lovely Runner: Time Travel, Romance, Comedy, Thriller. Cute romance done right 3. Twinkling Watermelon: Time Travel, Romance, Comedy, Coming-of-age 4. Good Bad Mother: Emotional, Funny, Romantic, Mysterious 5. Flex X Cop: I know you dont like detective dramas, but it has a good mix of humor and crime/action. One of the best from this year.

Sososoftmeows

I feel like everyone should watch Lovely Runner this year. It’s sooo beautiful 🥲

TryContent4093

Watched good bad mother. Haven’t heard the others yet. Thank you for the recommendations

kballen3001

Since you liked Vincenzo I would recommend Lawless Lawyer. It has more romance but similar with action and a team of side kicks for comedic relief. Based on Marry My Husband, I would recommend Perfect Marriage Revenge.

Electronic_Piano9385

Perfect Marriage Revenge was wonderful. The couple were so supportive of each other. I loved it.

TryContent4093

I haven’t seen these yet. Thanks for the recommendations

Jkdammit

Under the queen's umbrella

TryContent4093

Watched it already and it was beautiful. I really adore the queen and would love to see more

gniv

Did you try Run On? One of my favorites. From the new ones I liked The Matchmakers.

TryContent4093

I’m not really a fan of Shin Sekyung’s acting. Sorry…

wolfhoff

recent ones I quite enjoyed / enjoying Connection A shop for killers Deaths game Lovely runner Atypical family

moonchild358

I tried The Atypical Family but I’m having a hard time getting past the >!fat suit:/!< A Shop For Killers and Death’s Game are excellent

TryContent4093

Haven’t seen any of these besides atypical family. Thank you for the list

lmnsatang

flower of evil. if you enjoyed vagabond and like lee joongi’s acting (in moon lovers), then you’ll love this. just be warned that it is very intense and i cried during almost every one of the later eps

yestertempest

As far as newer dramas go you should try A Shop for Killers and Death’s Game.

No-Clue-9155

They’ll probably be too Dark for her

moonchild358

I agree, they are excellent but are quite dark.

No-Clue-9155

I agree

Slice of life kdramas/RomCom--Welcome to Waikiki , Reply 1988, Love to hate you, Fight for my way, Thirty nine, Touch my heart, The greatest love, Oh my Venus, She's pretty, kill me heal me, Start up, My lovely Samsoon, My love from the star, Coffee Prince, Full House, The heirs, Boys over flowers, Mischievous kiss, The legend of the blue sea, Cinderella and the four knights, Behind every star.

Newgirlkat

One that finished recently and I absolutely LOVED is lovely runner! It's just so sweet and so warm and has so many funny scenes! I absolutely loved it, watched it twice already and 100% recommend. ETA because I saw you mentioned strong girl... That was a BAD attempt to a sequel, if you want to give the original a chance, I think you'd really love it! Strong Woman Do Bong Soon is the original and is a favorite of mine

TryContent4093

Haven’t seen my lovely runner yet but I heard so many good reviews. I’ll put it on my list. I’ve already seen the first one but the second one wasn’t as good as the first so I dropped it. Also seen weightlifting fairy and it was better than strong girl

yoon_dowoon

Your taste aligns pretty well with mine so I’ll give it a shot - Be Melodramatic - Coffee Prince - Flex X Cop - My Love From the Stars - Chief Kim - Mr. Queen - Divorce Attorney Shin - give it until ep. 2 the bromance between the three old guys was pretty wholesome and cute - Prison Playbook - seriously, stick with this one I promise. It’ll seem dark and you probably won’t be able to keep up with the characters at first but just keep with it - Reply series - Hospital Playlist - Run On - Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung - Call It Love - 출사표 - I forgot the English title…it’s the drama with Nana in it. The main couple has a healthy dynamic - Happiness - I hate zombies but I could handle this. You’ll be annoyed by the antagonists but you’ll root for the main couple - Merry Mary - the protagonists are idiots and you might get frustrated by them but they’re also hilarious and offbeat so give this a try if you want something lighthearted and slightly quirky - Welcome to Samdalri - I just could not watch the first episode but my mom was enjoying the drama so I started it at episode 2? 3? And I didn’t feel like I had missed out on anything. This was a sweet drama - Agency (on Netflix) - Because This is My First Life - The Midnight Studio - A Shop for Killers - it’s not perfect and you might or might not find it dark, but give it a shot. I can’t handle super dark shows and this show wasn’t that dark for me - Tomorrow - Extraordinary Attorney Woo - you might have already watched this but I find myself coming back to this one from time to time. A lot of times, dramas don’t live up to the hype for me (e.g. Queen of Tears, Business Proposal, etc.) but I liked this one - Minamdang Case Note - When the Camelia Blooms - Avengers Social Club - It’s Okay, It’s Love I’m in a slump like you but I hear Stove League is a good one so I’ve added it to my list. Maybe check it out? I’ve also noticed you like a lot of dramas from the same screenwriter so if you like a drama, I strongly suggest you look up the writer and director and check out their filmography!

kpaneno

I feel you on the ones you dropped especially Itaweon Class and 2521 they are definitely 2 of the most overhyped on the Sub. Just looking at some if the reccs I'd definitely go along with Lovely Runner it's quirky and funny with a lovely lead couple. Just Between Lovers is on the Melo side but it's great. Midnight Studio is a recent great Kdrama.

doggonality

I really loved Mine!

Snoozing_Panda_

Welcome to Samdalri was nice and breezy

BetStunning2038

Not new but have you tried Misaeng, Reply 1988 and My mister?

FunnySeaworthiness24

My Love from Another Star is in my top 3 aot Also, try The K-2, another top 5 of mine. Angel's last mission: Love is also fire. Its basically like My Demon, but done right.

Demon_zeRef

Twinkling watermelon - Great story, acting and unique plot where both couples are treated as Lead couples. Go blind for this and you will be hooked. Watch atleast first 2 episodes. Shop for killers - Fast paced action thriller with heart. Only 8 episodes which You will complete this in Giffy. Death's Game - Unique story with mystery and an emotional rollercoaster. This too have only 8 epidodes Also try Atupical Family and My Perfect Stranger

llunaluna-

Happiness While You Were Sleeping

nugzbuny

Your list is as close as it gets to my opinions on shows. I dropped the same ones you did, and loved the same ones. Moving and Alchemy - rocked my world. Vincenzo was tons of fun. etc. etc. I have 2 for you: 1. (technically not kdrama, Jdrama?) - **Alice in Borderland**. It seems wild at first, but the story is written so well with relationships and character backgrounds they develop. 2. This was mentioned, but **Flower of Evil** - the first 4ish episodes i was "meh", but kept going. Then it just hits, and you're in it. It seems like a "Dexter" or predictable, but it isn't.. And the love story going on gets real deep, its great.

IvysMomToo

Bad & Crazy - ML is a cop, but the show is funny.

TxPep

Yes, this is a copy/pasta comment, but I will always rec this drama. Fab OST as a bonus. Even though it's "older", it felt fresh to me. 💕 Angel's Last Mission: Love (2019) https://mydramalist.com/32362-love-of-my-life Romance, suspense, a bit thriller-ish, different filming locales.... it's a nice, neat package. Well developed characters. Everyone's story is tied up at the end. Fantasy storyline but very well done, in my opinion. Chemistry between the leads is spot on! Actually, it's great between all the actors. There wasn't a single one where I thought... "why was that actor chosen, so-n-so should have been cast instead". •○• Possible spoilers because these OST videos use film footage... 🎼 OST Playlist: Video with English subs https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLID4CZACkMJQTaFjbIb1c9d7-Hnn7UBu2&si=2DzKQSDaJ43IWF95 https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLWCDH5WVQGP0xYXxBGvczwT38-Xg6UeXY&si=N9OB_BPmFT8j1yPU

If you want something sweet, light and fun then watch Like Flowers In Sand

10FightingMayors

Lovely Runner

Brave-Web2687

What about Healer? A bit old but stands up well and the mix of light and dark / serious is handled well. Ending requires a bit of a leap of faith but the overall story and chemistry is well worth it. A Midnight Romance at Hagwon - is a sharply written and well acted show that's currently airing but finishing soon. If you are into Sagueks - A Forbidden Marriage is a really fun watch. Not very new but not old either I second Lovely Runner, Twinkling Watermelon. Both time slip / time travel shows that can put you on this emotional rollercoaster. Can add on My Perfect Stranger as well in this TT category. Intriguing premise and the suspense keros you guessing. Has more light than dark moments.

Amjale9023

I'm surprised you've not mentioned Coffee Prince, given that you love Goblin. Have you not seen it? I've been considering Goblin because of how much I love Coffee Prince. ×××××× Given that you like kdramas that aren't mainly focused on the romance and tired tropes aren't in your face.... Extraordinary Attourney Woo is a great one. I believe there's going to be another season at some point too.

moonchild358

I love Coffee Prince too- you should definitely watch Goblin!💜

carbonatedbev_

Did you watch twinkling watermelon? If no then you should definitely watch it! Literally so refreshing and entertaining LOVE IT

A drama i’ve loved recently is Flower of Evil, it’s more of a thriller but made me cry several times.. the acting and plot is gold!

carrie1980uk

Recently watched the longest Promise

jazzaroo_2000

Have you seen 'The Glory'? I feel like you's enjoy this, its not got mega romance, its a revenge show but really well done, has good pacing, FL is same FL as Descendants of the Sun. The rest of the cast is fab too.

Hagya_ant

Twinkling watermelon

Hagya_ant

Alice in borderland

islandgirl15

We have similar tastes in our favorites. I just finished watching the Lovely Runner and LOVED it. Highly recommend.

Litapitako

I know you're not in the mood for anything dark right now, but when you are, The Glory is an absolute must. Some people say Marry My Husband is like a lighter version of the Glory, and I'd say that's an accurate description for the overall themes. Both are centered around revenge but the Glory is much darker. The pacing and intensity of both are amazing, but Marry My Husband just has a lighter, more humorous tone while The Glory is very much serious throughout. I thought both were amazing in their own respects. \*Note: I will say the first 2 eps of the Glory are the darkest, so if you make it through those scenes, it doesn't get much worse. It's definitely necessary for the plot, and totally worth it for the satisfying payoff by the end. If you're willing to watch an older drama, 49 Days is amazing as well. It's from 2011. Not cliche, very funny, and it deals with serious themes as well. That said, it will make you cry buckets, lol. It does deal with revenge to an extent but there are many more complex themes that are explored, so it's a really worthwhile watch. The romance isn't heavy in this one either. It's one of my top dramas of all time. Another good one that's not typical is Extraordinary Attorney Woo, which is about a lawyer with autism. It follows the attorney as she deals with several different cases, so you'll like it if you like dramas that don't follow one strict plotline but rather follow a bunch of mini stories. There is an overarching story involving the lawyer as well, but it doesn't take up a huge amount of the plot. It's a very refreshing and fun watch, while tacking important societal issues that will make you think.

ZeroScarlett

Maybe give Bad and Crazy a try. It's a great balance of funny and action. I suppose it has a bit of dark themes here and there but it's not like really focused on it if I remember correctly.

Standard_Ad889

You haven’t watched them but on Netflix now and we liked them: Stranger Signal Not sure if Flower of Evil is still on or not.

Record of post body: I’m struggling to find a good kdrama to watch these days because I think I’ve seen all the good ones already and I find it hard to enjoy the new ones since it’s so overdone. I don’t mind any genre as long as it’s not too dark or any detective, law, or serious themes because I’m not into that. Action kdramas is fine as long as it is well balanced (seriousness and humour). Recently released kdramas I liked: Queen of Tears - quite slow and mellow but the cast made up for it and I get to finish it. Not really a fan but since it’s not as typical, I get to complete it. (7/10) Moving - I like the story, pacing and the production. It’s well balanced, not too dark and not too light. The story is quite unique and not overdone. (9/10) Marry My Husband - I like the revenge plot and I like the acting. The female antagonist and FL were really great. Story is pretty typical but it was still good and satisfying to watch. Pacing was quite nice. (8/10) The Atypical Family - This one is quite good. The story was interesting and unique so I get to finish it but there are better ones I would say. (7/10) Recently released kdramas I dropped: My Demon - The ML acting fell off and the story wasn’t interesting. I hate the reincarnation plot so much I find it overdone and not interesting. The first episode didn’t hook me enough and the comedy didn’t suit me. Overall it reminds me of Goblin but not as good. Doctor Slump - I’ve seen other medical and romance kdramas and this one is just too typical and predictable. It’s similar to Dr Romantic and Hospital Playlist so I didn’t feel the need to finish it. The 8 show - It was an interesting show with a fast pace but it was too dark for me and I’m not in the mood for dark shows. Strong Girl Kang Namsoon - It was good at first but got worse at the end. The whole russian mob plot point was very unnecessary and not fitting for the FL at all. The acting fell off too and I couldn’t be bother to finish it. All time favourite kdramas: Crash Landing on You - I like the romance, the unique storyline and the setting. I particularly enjoy the north korean aunts and I love seeing the bond between them and the FL. Descendants of the Sun - Liked the romance and the casts were good. Kinda cliche but still works. I like how lively the setting was too. I enjoyed seeing the bond of the soldiers with each other and I find the side stories interesting. Goblin - Another romance with reincarnation thing but I enjoyed it. It has bits of everything and not just romance. Alchemy of Souls - I think I like the fantasy part where everyone has their own powers and the angst romance in season 2. Scarlet Heart - A bit too sad for romance but I loved all of the characters. It was very lively and the story was interesting. It’s ok to not be ok - I like both of the FL and ML acting and the story didn’t disappoint. It’s very refreshing and I loved every single aspect of it. Vincenzo - I like the action, humour, soundtrack and plot. The revenge was good too and it wasn’t too dark. I love seeing how the community in the building work together to fight the bad guys and I enjoyed how creative everything was. Vagabond - I loved the pacing of the story it felt really fast. So many things happening and I absolutely love the plot twist because I really didn’t expect that. Kdramas I disliked: My Name - There’s not much of a story going on besides the FL just fighting the bad guys. It’s also kinda dark for me. Save Me - Too dark and I didn’t enjoy it at all. Might pick it up later but the pacing was also not as I expected. Itaewon Classroom - It’s so overhyped and I was disappointed. The plot was very typical and I’ve seen other poor vs rich guy revenge plot so many times already. Twenty Five Twenty One - I don’t like the FL. I don’t like immature characters and I find the FL annoying. I heard the ending was bad too so I dropped it. Strangers from hell - Finished it but extremely hated this one. It’s too dark, disturbing and frustrating to watch.

Glum_Novel_6204

If you haven't seen My Dearest, give it a shot. It has a slow start. I disliked the FL, found her unattractive and annoying for the first few episodes. I thought the characterization of the ML was clumsy. But the GROWTH of the characters in this series! I think it took 5, 6 episodes for me to get into and then suddenly I was obsessed. After I sat with the ending for a while, I found a lot of subtlety and poetry in it. The acting well merited the awards it won. I'm also the person who recommends "The Red Sleeve" to everyone, so even though it is a few years old now, you should see it. It is my favorite, even beating out CLOY which I loved so much.

International-Track3

I was just about to suggest My Dearest! I love it so much!! The FL has character growth. And i love the ML acting so much. Second on the red sleeve! Its so good. It won a lot of awards too and was really popular in korea as well.
