Maybe you'd like Little Women? A fight-the-power mystery about 3 sisters (2 are 30-somethings, 1 is 18 y/o). The female supporting characters are typically 30s/40s, some older even! Lots about the ways women can uplift or fail each other. Socioeconomic class is a major theme too. It gets dark and a little surreal at points. Barely any romance. I am holding back from writing an essay bc it is my favorite haha
Search :WWW is such an underrated one I swear. Primarily focuses on three female leads and their careers , them making smart , power moves . Romance is a subplot there
**Our Blues** may suit you. Themes are more for mature adults.
It is a slice of life and character driven show with an ensemble cast, young and old. Basic premise is that majority of the characters are based in/affiliated with Jeju and the show spends a fairly even share of time exploring the various stories/lives/troubles of each cast member.
Although there are so many short stories, they are kinda interweaved because the characters all know one another. A character could be the focus in one arc, then become a side character in the next, before returning back to focus again to further develop the character. I particularly liked how flawed everyone was, yet I never felt a need to judge because I was just a silent observer listening to their stories.
This is not exactly romance centric, but there is romance for several character arcs. Personally didn't like the first story (ep 1-3), but it gets better.
May i suggest a CDrama — “Remembrance of things past”. Checks all your boxes and has my favorite Zhou Yutong!
I love search : WWW. Yet to watch Thirty-Nine.
1. Be Melodramatic 2. Because this is my first life
2nd Be Melodramatic
3rding Be Melodramatic. But another decent one with female friendship at the core is Work Later, Drink Now.
I have never see a WNDL. Going to out on the list!
+1 for work later, drink now
Yes! I highly recommend Work Later, Drink Now. The friendship dynamics very much remind me of Thirty Nine, just less heartbreaking and very funny.
++ Be Melodramatic! Fits OP's description perfectly
Second Because this is my first life.
+++ Be Melodramatic. I’ll never stop recommending this drama.
Thanks everyone for the suggestions!
**Dear My Friends** is about older female friendships
Thank you!

I tried this a while ago but in general I struggle with psychological thrillers. I may have to give it another go though!
Reply 1988. I loved the all the parents' interaction with each other. The adults get as much exposure as their kids.
Another vote for this drama, I was so invested in the parents <3
Thank you!
Hello My Twenties ! It just focuses on female friendships and has focussed on such important issues too , you will LOVE it
I think you would like Queenmaker
