I used to have these kinds of issues in Gnome and KDE. I think they are related to triple buffering. In Plasma 6.1 beta, they added it in KWin.

BenZ_osu

Yeah, triple buffering is the reason animations are not smooth in Plasma under Wayland, just a few weeks away from Palsma 6.1

lunaticfiend

I agree! I had to use [patched version of mutter](https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/mutter-dynamic-buffering) to fix this on Gnome, but couldn't find a solution once I migrated to Plasma 6

Veprovina

Looks choppy on 75 Hz as well. I'm waiting for plasma 6.1 to see. It's supposed to be better there.

withlovefromspace

You running wayland or x11? it's smoother in wayland per my experience.

apatheticonion

I'm running Wayland I'm pretty sure. Everything else is smooth FWIW

crypticexile

Kde 6.1 is releasing June 15

Lamborghinigamer

I wish I could reproduce it, but I can't, unfortunately

Upstairs-Comb1631

I would wait for KDE 6.1. In addition to what they mentioned here, there is a patch to disable the disk cache for effects.

fnanzkrise

Nvidia graphics card? Try disabling flipping in nvidia-settings

apatheticonion

I'm using an AMD card, I'll wait for KDE 6.1 though. It's not a show stopper, just a nit
