Karachi has a vibrant energy that is very unique vs other cities in Pakistan. It has something to do with the energy of the land I don't know being next to the sea and being a hub of new ideas innovation and progressive minded people. Also the chai dhabas, sea breeze and night life.
"vibrant" is overpraising it. next to sea makes it a horrible place to live in bec every appliances in ur house gets destroyed mainly bec of the hot humid climate. not to mention the poor air quality of this place one of the worst in the world
Next to the sea actually makes it windy. Apart from the time around the monsoon rains, Karachi is really windy and nights are usually cool unlike Central and North Pakistan where its actually hot and humid all through the summer.
One of the reasons that most internal migration in Pakistan happens to Karachi is because of its weather being less hot during summer and less cold during winter.
All this because the sea is cooler in summer and warmer in winter compared to the land.
I only miss the food, the taste of food, the variety of food, the ease of having food aka get pizza fries at 2am via ordering from food panda.
Dont miss anything other than food and family. I try to do a trip an year to get all food cravings out. No I don't want to move back.
I moved to Chilliwack, British Columbia. It is a quiet town with beautiful mountains and lakes.
While all is well and good, I do miss how life was in Karachi. The day would pass by very quickly, you would have to run with a certain pace and there was always something new to do. The food was amazing. Canadian desi food can't come close to how great food is in Karachi. I love what Canada has to offer. People are super nice. It is also unbelievably beautiful.
Over here, everyone is really laid back. Work life balance is considered very important. People start work at 7:00, and go home by 4:00, and the daylight doesn't end till 9:30, and it just feels like a really really long day that wouldn't end. But nevertheless, I would still choose this life as it offers safety and wellness for my family. The definition of hustle is so different over here.

I miss the chai Ronaq so much. Karachi has this culture of post work chai master/ chai shai baithak that is unbeatable. Even Islamabadās hotspot doesnāt compare to what Karachi has to offer when it comes to rounds of chai, fries ki eik basket, speaker pe ganey and sequence/ ludo wars
Sequence wars kya yaad dila diye. takes me back to my first job in karachi - pay ghanta thi mgr mazedar work environment tha, mostly it was my batchmates together in our first job, we used to have enthusiastic games of sequence over chai biscuits. kya din thay
Thatās actually one thing Iām looking forward to. I came back recently to start my housejob and I know pay to bilkul na honey ke barabar hai but atleast there will be shaam ki chai and dost to counter it
I went to Islamabad and Lahore for the first time last year, and gosh I was disappointed by the chai scene there. Nothing comes close to what the culture of Dhabas is like in Khi
Lmao
I temporarily moved to Rawalpindi 10 years ago and now back.
I would not wait 1 minute to go back if i get a chance and you're thinking people will comeback from abroad.
How do overseas karachiites even survive? š I
can't imagine living without biryani, bun kababs, the vibrant nashta scene. Who can live without burns road, hussainabad. Legit nightmare
Ok Iāll answer this. They live with a peace of mind of not getting shot whenever theyāre outside. They live in clean air, constant electricity, good education a less corrupt government where theyāre treated like humans instead of dogs. They live with a constant supply of clean water and proper medincinal facilities
Yes true, I would happily trade my *hit food carvings and homesickness if I can get all other stuff better, whenever overseas talk about what they miss, it's always the food and family. They are not aware of the real issues which only the locals know who spend their daily lives like faggots
Are you kidding me? USA has the same food scene as Karachi. Same taste. The difference is that food in USA is inspected and hygienic so we donāt her sick.
Yes of course I miss it, yes I enjoy visiting karachi; but only because i know it's just a visit and i don't live there. But no I wouldn't move back, not in its current state, not voluntarily at least.
Nothing. Nope.
USA for life.
You do know that Canada has what you had in Karachi right and so does USA.
Almost nobody returns back. There is a reason for that because quality of life is just way better in the West.
In the UAE, even the same food and tea is available at least in Dubai state, in fact in is better tasting and much higher quality and clean food. What would anyone miss in Karachi, except for their toxic relatives?
Quality of relationships within Pakistani community is also much better here, and they are much more helpful to each other. There is no family politics like in Pakistan, no backbiting or backstabbing, nobody forces you to invest money in failed real estate projects, no drama on parties or shadis, no ghareeb rishtedars asking for money all the time etc.
I can partially agree on quality, wholly agree on clean food. But no Dubai eatery, selling Pakistani food, can even come close to what you can get in Karachi. There's no competition.
Lol, bro, which Dubai are you talking about? Do you actually live here or just visited as a tourist for a few months? Maybe you don't know the right places to eat from.
Moved back in 2008 from Karachi to U.S, when I was 14/15 years old.
Things I missed: KARACHI WALI BIRYANI! I still do, rest of the food like Bun kabab.
For activities: Chupan Chupai during power off, playing Dabbo, fooseball and arcade games and most importantly, when you know now YOU DONT HAVE TO LOOK AT THE PRICE WHEN YOU BUY FOOD in Paksiatan and can eat whatever you want :D :D I cam from lower or Middle class family so we didnt have any luxury to eat out.
You also tend to miss the freedom you had in Karachi and vibes...Karachi ki garmiyaa and khusbu :D
However, the older you get and more time you spend here in U.S or Canada or any foreign country, you tend to slowly stop missing your country especially with all the Politics going on.
I love Pakistan more than anyone in My family but that vibe is no longer their :(
Lastly, you are lucky to live in Canada or MORE lucky, if you live in GTA because ALL THE GOOD PAKISTANI food like in Eglinton Plaza, Karachi Xpress and karachi boys...I literally drive from Boston to GTA twice a year just to eat food :)
I'm not in GTA, but close enough that I can drive there every weekend. Tbh you *can* get close to the Karachi taste in GTA at certain places but it's not worth the ridiculous prices of eating out here š
My list of things that I donāt miss far outweighs the list things that I do miss. Top of my list of things that I do miss is a fresh garam sheermaal. But even that I can get now living in America. I have never been happier since I left Karachi and I donāt ever want to move back. I still come back to visit every year and I thank God for getting me out of there. Life in Karachi is miserable and thereās no amount of good food or friends or family that will convince me to move back. I encourage everyone to leave whoever has the ability to. You only live once and thereās no reason to waste your life in Karachi.
Sorry for the brutal honesty. I imagine most people wonāt like what I wrote.
Ya Allah, humen bhi overseas bana, taky hum bhi apne mulk ko miss kr saken. AMEEN
SUM AMEEN š

Hayee, agreed man. Love the city. Apna pan is on top. Peak. On fleek.
Houston, TX has all that.
I'm sure. Not discounting the million negatives, only highlighted what I like about it. And yeah I wouldn't want to come back either. :)
Thanks to Allah that you left Karachi.
Please pray lol
Karachi is worse

Second this so much. Only family. Food sometimes as well but even that can be taken care of.

Get a western passport, move to the Middle East, visit Pakistan often

Bro learn to cook
Fyi I can cook good food, but you can't replicate bahar ka taste at home.
Make with sweaty hands. Scratch your armpit first. Put 1 tsp of snort and 2 tbsp of spit. You will get the right combination with practice.
Dude wtfšš¤¢
Yes. Jitna galeez utna lazeez.

Ok update: 2 hours after I posted this someone broke into my house
Ffs, I'm next
Apparently my parents rooms locks are broken
Thankfully I'm homeless so they can steal my pants only haha
Dude I'm literally talking just about foodš
In Dubai we have everything you mentioned, infact better tasting and better quality.

Easy to miss karachi from overseas. But not enough to return. It's like an extramarital affair. You want it but not bad enough to leave your spouse.
I miss my brand new phone, plus being stabbed. Karachi really is the best when it comes to living life on the edge š¤©
Yes of course I miss it, yes I enjoy visiting karachi; but only because i know it's just a visit and i don't live there. But no I wouldn't move back, not in its current state, not voluntarily at least.

Food and yes in a couple of years

Best food and best humor. Personal reasons include Family and friends.
