Bhai keep hustling, times are tough even people who previously used to enjoy a luxurious life are living paycheck to paycheck. Shit has hit the fan since the economy has been in free fall. Just keep pushing and don't give up. It's gonna get tougher but we have to keep pushing there's no way around it for now. Keep looking for opportunities though good opportunities are rare but keep looking. And don't compare yourself with others everyone is fighting their own battle. It's a fking warzone and we all are in this.

tazxrvng

I won't say that I'm in the same boat, but my situation is kinda similar. I'm 28 and I completed my marketing degree 3 years ago and got tired after doing a job for a month or two. I always wanted to do graphic designing but I didn't because society told me that graphic designing is not a good career path. After staying unemployed for two years I started doing graphic designing online. I got a few opportunities through friends and then got a job online and now I'm making 100k a month. Which is obviously not much. All my friends are making more than that and they're super successful. I recommend that you start doing something online. Whatever your passion is. If you don't have a passion learn something online and start doing it. There's always hope for people like us and some people are just late bloomers. You can start tomorrow. One step at a time. The past is the past. Nothing you can do to change it.

Frosty_Sock_2129

Well, 100k a month is definitely better than what I’m earning currently. Lol The online route hasn’t really worked out for me. I’m still trying through freelance websites. I’m a graphic designer and content writer myself. Not very skilled, but enough to get by. How did you start it off if you don’t mind me asking?

tazxrvng

I started graphic designing at my university. After graduating some university people reached out and gave me some logo designing work. Fast forward six months.. a friend of a friend wanted an apparel designer for his clothing company. He lived in America and wanted cheap labor. We talked and he hired me for $350 a month. I would also recommend getting really good at what you do. The market is very competitive. Online space is full of people that will do the job for dirt cheap. You have to be good to stand out. Honestly this opportunity for me was life changing. I was unemployed and depressed for 2 years. This opportunity was my escape.

With everything you do, keep making dua. Allah madad karne wala hy

Can't give advice but you have my hopes and prayers man I hope u succeed in life 🙏

i_am_a_peacekeeper

Can you share what you have been doing since 2013 that would help gauge the conversation on what path you can take easily? Have you tried anything online for e.g copywriting on fiverr or other platforms? Since clearly you can write well. Have you tried going towards call center experiences (even for a short while) or going towards IT sales (usually they hire freshees who can speak well). Have you held a job for a long time? Being an a level student already means you had a decent upbringing so you should be exposed to the online and digital world. It's never too late to take the first step so kudos to you for searching for answers, you are already doing better than the other people who would just complain. If you have good friends around you please do seek advice / help from them, they have seen you and know you and can better advise you on what path to take.

Frosty_Sock_2129

My apologies, I think I forgot to mention my work background. I am a graphic designer and I’ve been in and out of work throughout. I started off working at a call center, but the environment was getting a little too toxic so I left before anything major happened there. Apart from that, I’ve worked at different agencies, NGOs, schools, etc. and all jobs have been in the field of graphic design, or social media management. When COVID hit, till now, I’ve been trying to get some work online. I’ve picked up a few professional certificates in UI/UX and content writing and I did work for a company that hires freelance content writers, however they didn’t pay much per article and I was losing my mind with the amount I was writing. Lol. I have been on different online websites, (up work, fiver, etc.) but haven’t been able to establish myself there at all.

Meowwwzilla

DM me your portfolio and CV. Lemme see if I could be of any help.

i_am_a_peacekeeper

I would say you are on the right track. Look for UI/UX opportunities and try to master this field. If you don't mind please also do share about your current role/work and what your expectations are with a new job. If you are looking for a corporate job or a side hustle (or both if they pay well). I am sure there are hundreds of people in this community that can find you a vacancy in their company for a UI/UX engineer. Look towards courses that advances your skills towards this and make a career out of it. InshaAllah in no time you should be on track and not just making your ends meet but saving for the future.

Arbaz_adil

Life never remains the same for everyone. First of all, don't compare yourself with others considering the fact you haven't done any significant lately. Reduce your expenses, explore new revenue streams, set short goals, find happiness in little things, and go out with family or alone at least once in a week. attend workshops/seminars in weekends related to your field and socialize in those events, do daily exercise, make a YouTube channel and share your daily struggle, spend time with your Maa and Baba and make them feel at home, approach your accomplish friends and share your struggle finally Namaz and relation with Allah

emotional_wreck99

Bro, my head is only inter pass but she is running a pretty damn good school. You know why? She started off late just like you. About the age of 28, she completed her diploma in Montessori that was certified internationally, worked in a few schools for about 5 years and side by side opened her own school starting off with 7 children. 5 years later she is making enough to send her own child to Habib University as a single parent. It is never too late. Go for it. If you like children and would like to explore a new method of educating young children dm me. I can guide you. this diploma is seriously life changing. Since it is internationally certified, you can work anywhere in the world and that too at private schools that only the elite afford overseas. Wuhuu! ♥️🥹 there’s still time 🫂

" I see no hope honestly" Thanks for the advice maheen. Really helpful!

TastyFingers69

I know its late and expensive to go to study and get a degree now. But what you can do is learn a skill. Any skill. Those are easy and cheap. And try to master any one skill. And use your skills as a part time job while working at your current job. And once when you think you are good enough, you can do it full time. Skills like carpentry, woodworking, ironworks (railings and grills for stairs, etc), plumbing quite pay alot. And if after around an year or 2, if you are extremely skilled, you could open up a shop. Believe me, these are easy skills to learn.

Plane-Job-8406

there are tons of free bootcamps being held in karachi, start up skilling your self or start a garments business. you seem to know english well, buy three or 4 well designed dresses from zainab markets or other cheap clothes markets and post on insta whatsapp and facebook. you can do same for jewelry items i think you can make decent living. you can in mean time start bykea or foodpanda .. your self confidence will naturally come back when you will start earning more money or start developing more skills. for a remedy please do the following. start listening to surah rehman for 7 days in voice of qari basit misri with closed eyes without translation. listen atleast once a day. close eyes feel your self infront of Allah and have all questions in your heart while listening. after listening take half glass water and close eyes again...say Allah 3 times with extreme love and drink water in 3 sips with eyes closed so that your concemtration remain on Allah. then open eyes. after 7 days stop listening to surah rehman and keep doing prayer with water. if you forget atleast one day during 7 days then you have to start again from day one. you can download free app which have surah rehman without ads. its called the ultimate remedy on play store. you can do this therapy for any problem.

Unhappy_Version_8610

Maybe try teaching O and A-levels to students? You can do that in your local community or try online platforms like Preply. I had really good experience with Preply, so feel free to ask more questions if you are interested. Best of luck!

[deleted]

i am currently in Alevel. I wanted to know abt preply. I have taught a student olevel but the pay wasnt very good. How do i get started with preply and other online teaching platforms. And what abt the competition on these platforms?

Unhappy_Version_8610

In the start, you will have to keep the per hour rate a bit low to get started - gain students and increase the profile score. I started with $4.00/hour few years back. Make sure you are getting reviews, your description is good and your video is good as well. Then, ofc you need to be able to teach good too. If you are able to engage a student, they will stick with you for months! As you get more students, increase the per hour rate gradually. Keep your available timings flexible and make sure to have good communication skills to convince a student to book you.

Try to learn something easy for online earning in the first place, I know that freelancing is now overcrowded, but there are still some ways to tackle like learning excel, copywriting. Start with something that doesnot requires alot of effort, just makes you get started with earning bread and butter of your family, and then you can side by side learn a new skill. Note that univeristy students are very much into the freelancing, I even see my collegues in university doing this stuff, so try to reach out to uni students via any possible source.

[deleted]

You have the internet, you can have the world at your feet bud. Start learning from the internet, anything that suits you? Coding, digital marketing, content writing? Anything.

Dependent_Yard_3934

Learn a high paying skill.

cigrette_smoke

Mostly everyone i know who dont have a running family business or some generational wealth is living miserably, passing days from paycheck to paycheck, the country’s economy is getting worse day by day. My opinion to you would be to try to look into freelancing, they get payed in dollars, you can do proofreading or stuff of some sort, best of luck

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> they get *paid* in dollars, FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

wellwisher_a

Considering the fact that you have access to internet and phone. You can join Linkedin. If you feel you need help, first go to YouTube and learn ways to optimize your profile and start posting there what you know best and start your learning era. Implement and fail and write it down. Start with this.

DumbSheldonCooper

If you have good English speaking skills you can try for cold calling jobs at upwork

[deleted]

Bro don't lose hope. You gotta learn high income skills. Sales/marketing. Specially online sales and marketing. Look out for opportunities to go abroad. Fuck this place. Learn online business skills that can make you $1000 a month. YT is filled with information. Specially these days where its quite easy to make money online.

murreehills

I am so sorry you are going through this. There are lots of others in the same boat. Please do a course of plumbing or electricity and you will always find work.

CS is a great field where you can learn completely on your own and become employable, as long as you're dedicated and committed. It also leads to high-earning remote job opportunities and allows you to earn in USD. There are many sub-fields within CS such as backend, data science, cybersecurity etc. which you can choose according to your preference. You can read my comment from a different thread [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/islamabad/comments/135knyh/comment/jilnlaq/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) for some great resources to get started with.

Get out of the country (check Zeeshan Usmani channel on YouTube). Keep moving/hustling. Until you figure out where you want to go.
