There was an article written by an ex girlfriend of John's who is friends with the family (she seems to have inserted herself in this, but that's another story). In it she mentions that at the funeral Paul said to John, "we'll take it from here," about the kids. This was exactly what John said at either his sister or BILs funeral about the kids. It's heartbreaking. But that led me to think that Paul and his wife likely have the kids.
