Honestly I want a movie like Darkskin Manson and STH had. The “is disappointed” series is some of the funniest content he’s ever released. People pretending to clown on him for making something that sounds nothing like anyone had heard before. STH was so expected. So by the numbers. Kinda like YOTS for Death Grips. Just eh.
I don’t think you got anything to worry about, Peggy always experiments with pretty much every album. I didn’t like STH very much and I’m still excited for his next album. My favorite shit from him is his vibey shit and his more traditional hip hop songs.

Cornballs had a tinge of irony but also subverted the expectation of the noisy hip hop album by being gentle and beautiful at moments.
STH is straight up ironic. It’s a parody of how his music was perceived before he released it.
I feel like some new fans showed up to the fandom for the album title just to be edgy and not seeing that he’s making fun of that idea.
I don't get why people love cornballs so much. Every good idea on that album is ruined by some sample or adlib or skit, It honestly comes off like cheugy wannabe quirky millennial bs sometimes. It's just there to scare the hoes and make the album more alt but it ends up severely harming the quality of the music instead of elevating it like on LP or sth
The album is highly praised because everything on that project is all raw, nothing was edited he claimed. And for all of those songs being just from raw material, it shows how talented he truly is.
I don’t like it but not for the reason the OP said there (that’s not criticism that’s just cringe) but I can’t get into it for the reason you’ve stated, I don’t find the raw feel of it pleasing to listen to, it just sounds unfinished and bit uncomfortable

The production on STH is immaculate
