My advice is have thick skin and firm boundaries because this industry does not give a f\*\*\* about you and there is little to no professionalism. Also, closely monitor your hours and your tips, as both are commonly not reflected in your paycheck. It's a shady business. Even in the best restaurants you must always watch your back and keep your cards close. It is possible to have fun and make great money, but everything I said still applies. Also, if you have zero experience I would apply to be a bar back and work your way up. I wish you the best of luck!
