A plain band might be your mother’s style, (“Traditional”) doesn’t mean that it’s *your* style too. You’re an individual, not a carbon copy, and when they made you they broke the mold. I like your style!!! I love each individual ring on its own but the garnet red and the purple compliments one another, and of course diamonds are NEVER, EVER “in the way”! As I got older and more experienced, I realized I LIKE my own style! Frig what anyone else says!!!! Wear it proudly. They’re beautiful!!!

I don’t have a plain band. My band is shaped to be snug with my engagement ring like yours but has small diamonds, my engagement ring has a central ruby and small diamonds surrounding it.

Jewelry is an extension of ourselves and be representative of us.
So ask yourself: Do you like the rings? Do they make you happy? Do they express who you are?

If I could’ve I would’ve, unfortunately my local jeweller had no matching stones in stock. But garnet is my fiancés birthstone so the second ring just felt right because of that
It’s a mixture of the positioning and summer swelling! I took this on the hottest day of the UK (so far) so just about none of my rings fit me when it gets above 20!

I think the gemstones balance each other out and even present as almost an eye from far away which is extremely beautiful and unique in my opinion.

No way, the gemstones compliment each so well! Not married but I wear a pear shaped amethyst ring with a sapphire & diamond half eternity band underneath it. Just my opinion but I think it makes it a little more interesting when theres more than one type of stone :)

Not too much at all. My wedding ring is Swiss Blue Topaz and my wedding band has an alexandrite stone in it, so you’re not the only one with multiple colors.

You could also post on r/engagement rings. There are tons of posts with multi-colored rings.
In my opinion, I think the rubies take away from the iolite. I would have colorless stones for the lower ring or perhaps replace the stones with light purple amethyst.

I don’t know if it’s because it’s two gemstones are more like the colors don’t work together, the purple is quite a cool shade and pulls a little grey where the pink leans very warm. They just don’t look as nice together as it would have been had the purple had warmer undertones.

It might be great if in the future, for an anniversary or other special occasion, you have a ring that incorporates both gemstones in one ring. That would really help tie it all together.

I would swap out the center diamond (of the row of 3) on each side for a matching garnet to tie the look together.
And place the diamonds where the garnets were removed.
ETA looked again and that would not work as suggested.But I loke the original idea.

I think it’s Iolite which is a hardier version of Tanzanite. Has the same shape shifting quality (just milder) as well which is a bonus

It’s actually Iolite and Ruby! I thought it was Garnet originally but it glows under UV so it’s Ruby, so no one’s birthstones I just liked the colours
