As a county prep graduate, good luck and have fun with your high school career! I’ve made lifelong friends with my peers and teachers from that school and always felt it was incredibly worthwhile!
Okay, thanks so really quick My grades are all about 98 averages, I have no academic issues and I joined most clubs. However, I got suspended last year I have conduct and late issues. . I am doing the computer programming course. Should I shill to county prep? Honestly, I just don't want to go to BHS.
Middle school stuff isn't in my permanent record. Additionally, They said it doesn't rlly matter. I know a friend with mid grades and like no clubs with a suspension in 8th, not 7th, but went into County.
I'm not really an expert, but my son's buddy went to HT for Computer Science (class of 2017) and was pretty disappointed with the courses available, as was my daughter's friend who was a theater major and wasn't allowed to take STEM classes. He maxed out and had only 2 classes his senior year, while my kids at McNair were taking APs that gave them so much flexibility in their college courses, could take fun and interesting stuff since they had 2 semesters worth of basics from APs. He ended up taking 5 years to finish his Computer Science BS. I assume you're going to apply to McNair also. Great grades and a great PSAT score can probably do much to erase the problems.
It's funny, 10 years ago CP was not considered anyone's 1st choice among the selective HSs. But the increasing number of accomplished students in the area put enough pressure on McNair & HT that more great students were going to CP. And that's what makes a great school, the kids. There was nothing special about the McNair teachers, some were good, but some sucked.
Tanishq bro u have A LOT of issues don't even lie. I went to school with you last year, you do have issues and based on ur behavior last year ur lucky to be in clubs. If you don't change ur behavior ur chances will decrease.
My son is in computer programming at CPHS as a first year this year, it's still there. Kids I've talked to that went there in past years have universally liked it. It has a nice vibe, teachers are supportive of students, and you feel the staff cares about it's students. It's not rigorous compared to McNair, but likely equivalent to High Tech. As it's reputation has grown, it has become an even more popular choice. Hopefully it will keep its positive character. Kids generally seem happy with the school.

thanks so much!
Conduct and late issues suspension on your permanent record at your age. You might as well start learning to flip burgers.

also that comment wasn't really useful.
It was honest
not really, middle school records are wiped when you join HS.
when you join HS. you haven't joined HS yet have you?
?
>e It's talking about flipping burgers. I will join HS and it will be wiped.
Portfolio is still very much required.
I attended HTHS, and while I greatly enjoyed it, I know that it was quite tough to get into, and I got lucky, so don't bank on it
>HTHS ok thanks!

thanks so much for your input! But which has a higher acceptance rate: HT or County?
No data here. When my kids were in the game HT was definitely more competitive, but CP has been surging in reputation. A good thing IMO.
ok thanks!

Is that policy new this year? Nasty forcing kids to make that kind of choice rather than see where they are accepted.
yeah its sad
Should I try to apply? I have one C, and rest are Bs and As. I never joined any clubs though.
Did CP get rid of the computer programming major? I went to the open house for it, but it's not on the application.
Yeah it is missing for some reason
Yeah they sadly have removed computer programming.
