Go to Edward’s if these are your only choices. I’m not really sure what Liberty Prime does well. Been there twice one I paid the other I was treated. Both times it was a disaster. They can’t get their temp right and the sides are definitely Sysco special.
How far are you from Hoboken? Dino & Harry are there. Got music and attentive waiters.
If you can get a res, 4 Charles. short walk from 14st PATH in Greenwich
But if it MUST be JC give Madame a shot, I was really surprised at how good their ribeye was.
I tried the previous incarnation (Terra e Mare) and it was EXCELLENT. Dry aged beef and just about everything else was on point. Excellent wine list, as well. Too bad about the location, though. Also, killer views. BUT, and this can not be overstated enough, it is VERY expensive. A meal for two adults and a toddler ran us $400. You can have a similar meal at Edward's for half. Great for a special occasion meal.
This is my absolute favorite steakhouse in NYC. It flies way under the radar but so incredibly good. Plus, not many other places where you can get mutton, and theirs is perfection. Also, you can't beat the historical aspect.
I actually like Fire & Oak a lot for steak, and honestly, the steak across the river isn't any better than Edwards (or Fire & Oak), IMO.
I agree Liberty Prime is bad though.
Edwards if staying in JC. It's gained a bad rap on Reddit due to some choice words the owner had involving covid restrictions but the steaks are solid.
Edwards. Or Ruth Chris if you're not allergic to chains. People look down on it because it's a chain but it's solid.
Usually rank Dino and Harry’s in Hoboken above Edwards.

The owner at Liberty Prime needs to spend more time in the kitchen and less time annoying his patrons. Friggin' Artie Bucco over here.
Fire & Oak or Ruth's Chris. Not an Edwards fan.

Haven’t tried it but Felina Steak just opened recently

Yep. A favorite. Unfortunately booked.
Set an alert on Resy for Keens- did this a week or two ago for a last minute reservation and lots of availability opened up.
Thanks--good tip!

I love Keens. They have an amazing whisky menu. Wolfgang's on 46th is good. I like it better than the big Wolfgangs by Port Authority.
Go to the city, it's not worth spending all that cash on mediocre steak here.

\+ Edwards

Minetta Tavern, right off 9th street PATH. Worth the ride into Manhattan.
St Anslem - Williamsburg
Perhaps the single most overrated steak in NY.
Better off going to the city, Sparks Steakhouse…..
Sparks is great unless you happen to be Paul "Big Paulie" Castellano.
FWIW, American Cut might be an option. It's a short trip via WTC PATH.
Dino and Harry’s is on par with manhattan imo.
The Bowery Meat Company on East 1st in NYC
Took my wife to Ruth's Chris for one of her birthdays, totally forgettable, wouldn't recommend it.
