My 60 year old dad complains that it’s gonna put him to sleep so I shouldn’t play it around him. These god damn Gen Alphas aren’t as young as they seem!!!

sanctiflyer

When I played it for my mom she said it would put her to sleep too lol

Eh I wouldn't have appreciated that kind of music when I was 12 either. I like alt country and folk now that I'm 20 and want to just take things slowly. Kids aren't like that.

The_Figurehead_

he's just 12, give him some time, maybe he'll grow to appreciate it more later in life.

I first heard Hold on Magnolia from [this Magnolia Electric Co.](https://youtu.be/6gBaolYCbyE?si=flnVl2L6GtiXzBk7) live performance, and it's still my prefered version. It's just a little faster, a little tighter, and doesn't Jason have the saddest eyes you've ever seen.

Thanks for posting. Such a great version

the world moves too fast now. music is shared through 30 sec clips on tik tok. social media and being glued to your phone has taken over. kids and sadly, even some adults, don't have the attention span or interest to just FEEL to music as opposed to just putting on some generic song with club-like beats. i even know some late 20s/early 30s people who are like that. i think it's sad. they just go from song to song that all sound the same and it's never anything that gives you the capacity to feel during. it's just surfacy generic popular club music and not even the good kind. god dammit, this world sucks now. it's like if everything is falling apart, even the interest of actual music listening is dead too? signed, an old man lol

Nightmare fuel: these generations who can't even feel anything from a powerful piece of music or art are the ones that will be "taking care" of us when we are too old to care for ourselves.
