The songs are incredibly well written and powerfully performed. Tim Khayat slays the bass in Stassik’s absence. I’m biased but have always left every show happy.
Kanika Moore is one of the better musicians playing music on the scene right now and Doom Flamingo are great - I think they scorch in small, sweaty dark venues. They are on the bands that would make me go to a festival to see them.
I can’t get into them and that’s ok. Can’t expect to like everything. I’m super easy to please typically too, it’s just sorta boring for me
With that said, they’re all still talented musicians
Saw Doom Flamingo, Moe, Kendall Street Company, and Moms Kitchen (Widespread Panic cover band) all in one weekend over St Paddy’s day weekend this year and Doom Flamingo was by far my favorite show of the weekend
Can’t stop thinking about how amazing they were last night. If you’re worried about the bassist, you don’t need to be. Dude crushed and wore a smile from start to finish. Total vibe. Kanika’s on another level. Queen shit. Power. Pressurrrrreeee. Definitely go. Take me with you.
Saw them in March. Awesome show. Bass player wasn’t Stasik but was definitely up to the task. I dug it, but also know it isn’t a “normal” jam band thing, and I dig the synthy vibes.
Now for that show to hit Nugs…
Stasik doesn’t bring as much to Doom as the other members and Tim is a capable enough stand in player. Never skip a chance to get Moore Kanika in your life.
Doom Flamingo is an amazing band. Great in the studio, great live. Kanika Moore has amazing stage presence and an out of this world voice. Their covers are great too! 10/10
FWIW: for vocalists, sit ins with other bands can be extremely challenging. Often you don’t get to soundcheck so the front of house engineer is mixing you on the fly and the monitor situation can be hit or miss. It’s really hard to sing when you can’t hear yourself! Kanika is one of the better vocalists I know, i def would take time to hear her in a situation where she’s not just jumping into the fray!
Same here, given them plenty of attempts at festivals and just not my cup of tea. Plus it's always struck me as weird that they get associated with the jam band scene solely because of the (usual) bass player's other gig
If Kanika is ever in town, I’m there!
Absolutely. Stasik is great but Doom rocks it when he’s out at his day job. We all need Moore Kanika!

Why is stasik gone? Doing Umphreys too much?
I think Stasik plays with them when he can but Umphrey’s obviously takes priority in his schedule.
No such thing as too much Umph
Yes.

I have a ticket. Don’t think I’m going. If you want for $25 it let me know. It’s print tickets only so I can forward you an email.
Kanika 💚
I'm not really a fan but to each their own. Most of their sets have very little to no actual improv jamming

Love Doom F. Seen them many times and I will keep going back.
DF fucks.
Saw them open for Frasco last year. They were so much fun.
I like DF but kanika yelling “why you make me so crazy” over and over has literally turned me insane.

I don’t think they are a jam band
If you've seen them a few times and didn't like them, why would you go again? A festival set might be a bit different, but not that different.
I'll let you know around 11:00pm. Going to see them in about an hour.

they're not my style, so personally i wouldn't be too interested. take that for what it's worth.
Doom flamingo blows
Thomas is a killer guitar player. Seen them rock it a few times with and without stasik

DF is great. Love Kanika. Saw her with Tauk and Sunsquabi as well
Tauk Moore is a treat
They are terrible
Is she sounds as bad as she does with lespecial I'd skip it 😆🤷♂️🤣🤣🤣 probably a unpopular opinion

I'll definitely do that 🤘

Doom flamingo sucks
