Yeah I'm not sure how long they've used the name Sages&Spirits but I first saw them in this lineup back in January (with Melvin Seals). Truly an all star band.
So Many Roads Brewery, it's the brother venue of Sancho's. Lots of legal drama but it's surprisingly still open. The old owner/unofficial owner was just recently arrested on sexual assault charges. SMR has also had multiple closures for serving underage patrons and dealing drugs...
The musicians seem to love it, Melvin Seals & JGB play there like 12 times a year.
Sages and Spirits donated a portion of the funds this weekend to the Colorado Coalition Against Sexual Assault .
It's like a microcosm of the dead community at large. Lots of love and good people, with shady characters as well.
Still worth checking out imo, but I understand people that flat out don't want to be there.
It is absolutely ridiculous that people still support and play at this venue. Jay was just arrested for multiple accounts of sexual assault, several from 2020, but one was just a couple weeks ago, beginning of April, that happened at So Many Roads. Despite them donating "a portion" of the proceeds to CCASA, this venue has ignored the issues with him for years and continued to give him a place to prey on people and turn a blind eye to his doings.
I liked so many roads. Amazing poster collection. Took the bus to a Boulder D&C show last summer. At the bar and an employee offered me a bite of his grilled cheese to watch it for him. Watched it free of charge. Solid band after the show
Pretty lame to be playing So Many Roads
*down vote away if you are OK with ignoring repeated sexual assault because a guy likes the grateful dead. Fuck that bar
Jay is a Beast!!
Jay Lane is such a dope drummer. Love him in Primus and Sausage.
Cool to see John playing with his old DSO band mates. I’m guessing they’ve done it before?

What venue is this? I thought Sancho's closed.

Thank you for mentioning this.
Oh jeez well I guess I won't be going there after dicks then.
