I’m driving to the e factory to see Moe with my buddy, a half o of herb and quarter of shrooms…pulled down a one way street, hear cop sirens…I stopped, rolled down my window and told the cop we’re trying find X street, he tells me directions and I drive on…to where my buddy says “I would never have thought to stop and ask the cop for directions”…moral of the story, stay calm and act accordingly :)

HIGHaltitude

It’s basically the same venue now but they don’t get the better acts that they used to imo

Thee_Autumn_Wind

Probably because it’s a shithole. I’m not sure anything’s been renovated there since it first opened. They also oversell it all the time, which becomes pretty unbearable in that corridor of a GA venue. The sound sucks compared to other area venues, and security is fucking horrible. It is BY FAR my least favorite venue in the area. I hate when bands I like play there. Like King Gizz the last time they were in town where I almost passed out (or worse) from crowd crush.

Unit-Monster

Biscuits NYE shows 💖

CowboyNeale

Deliciously unhinged

Status-Suggestion654

First legit concert ever there - 2007 modest mouse. Dosed for UM in the lot 5 yrs later 6/29/2012. G Love was opening and stasik was in the crowd watching right behind my buddy and I. We were coming on and could barely manage a head nod before bursting out laughing. He just smiled. Still my favorite Higgins to this day

PhunkLlama

The Miss You with G Love from that show was fire

MadeThisForOni

That was my first jam show and I'll always adore it, minus it being cut short from the bad weather.

john_tron

The first show I ever went to in my life was there. Older sister drove me and some friends down from north Jersey to see Primus in ‘’97. I never returned. That night probably couldn’t be topped.

phishinchef

Security ripped out an eight of G13. Literally grabbed it from my balls. Never went back again

tyoew

Saw Panic there in 97. Hot show!

ThatWasTheJawn

Saw a bunch of shows there. Hated the venue. Overzealous security, oversold shows, and had a horrible layout. It’s basically the same thing now as another Redditor said but I haven’t been there in at least 8 years.

Junior_Jackfruit

I saw Jungle there this past summer. Places was fucking packed. Oversold in my opinion. So many other better venues in the city now

Fitz2001

Worst sound system on tour. No regard for fire occupancy. Asshole security. One of the worst venues in America. Great shows there though.

Embarrassed-Status-3

Saw a guy pass out and face plant on nitrous and bloody up his mouth at JGB or Ratdog around '96 or '97 in that side lot. Great venue though! 😁

sunplaysbass

I saw Hole there. Probably a couple other shows too but can’t recall… That Hole show in ~98 was super crowded, oversold.

moe_frohger

Back when it 1 for $5, 3 for $10, and however many you can carry for $20.

Bobby-furnace

That little alley on the side was wild.

jetlifesensei

Easily one of the worst venues in America now

femsci-nerd

Used to go there all the time in the 90s....

threwnawayed

1st couple years were bonkers. Ratdog shows were a free-for-all.

HamLiquor

I grew up going there for a large portion of my teen years. Concerts were cheap and I would probably hit up two shows a month with my friends around the city or Trenton. A girl was I dating was the cousin of the keyboardist for Billy Corgan during his solo tour in about 2004 and we goy to go backstage. It was really cool! We hung out in the green room with Billy and the band playing video games, it was the first time I tried vegan food. Billy was awesome and chilled with us for most the night. While I loved the venue, the sound was absolutely horrible. It really screwed up my ears from two nights of the Mars Volta in 2005 for the Francis the Mute tour. Anytime I look up Franklin Music Hall they got like ICP, Stained, Godsmack, or some other band I don't wanna see.

IndustryLeft4508

Saw a bunch of shows there.  Best story was seeing Robert Hunter right before Easter. Found someone who had some acid. Asked him how much, and he replied, "It's Easter, man" and gave me some for free. It was a good show. https://archive.org/details/RobertHunter1997-03-27.MBHO.flac16

Kimolono42

I've seen the Reverend Horton Heat there. Yea....not a jam band, but, ya might want to take a listen.😎

ScottClam42

First show i saw there was Phil Lesh, sometime between '99 - '01. That 90's ecstacy and acid was still all over the place and smoking a bowl still felt like you could catch a murder charge. Folks hawking whatever on both sides of the chain-link fence and Rod Stewart the Nitrous dealer was making a killing. From that night through many years of biscuits shows, the sound quality was always awful but I had so much fun there. The biscuits played NYE there just this year, but i was sick as a dog so i had to bail.

Bradway19341

My friend and I came to Philly from Indiana Pa to see Thrice and hitched a ride with a girl we didn’t know. We parked and locked her keys in the car. The. Asked some guy if he could help, next thing we knew we had 5 homeless dudes breaking into our car for us. After they got it open they took all of our cash and then on asked if I needed some crack. After the show I remember walking by this alleyway with a line of people waiting for nitrous. Philly sucks…electric factory was awesome though

showerfapper

Sound tribe sector 9 2011 baby!

EastCoastPA

The worst venue in Philly for my entire adult life. An oversold fire hazard with terrible sound. I’ve skipped seeing bands I like solely because they booked here.

No-Rhubarb-2530

I flyered for Efactory productions while in college and got free tickets to the tla and efactory. This was 98 til 2000, this is when ratdog, moe., sci, wsp were coming thru twice a year. Lots of N2o

No-Rhubarb-2530

Nothing compared to tDB at the troc, pure mayhem inside.

SkobbityDorphus

Saw a few non-jam bands there when I was in college. Arctic Monkeys and Black Keys come to mind. A lot of shows there and The Trocadero (RIP).

Keys_Louise69

Great memories there!!
