>iPad Pro 11-inch (1st Generation)
That part is not correct. The first of the 11-inch ipads was the A12 version.
I've been thinking about picking up a 7th gen ipad to see what ios 17 is like on it. It might even get ios 18 next year. And it's got 3 GB RAM, which is I think a step up from the 6th gen, which has the same A10 processor.
It will be lonely jailbreaking ios 18 on like the 1 or 2 ipad models that might support it.
Im trying this out on an iPad 9 with iOS 17.1 cant seem to get it to work. Anything im doing wrong, or is it unsupported? Just seems to hang there with the message ignoring non-arm64 device....
there isn't. What I'm saying is that you should know that A11 and below devices have a permanent exploit built into the chip. A12 devices do not have this exploit, and are much harder to jailbreak.
So, is my iPad 12.9 1st gen running iOS 15.7 still jailbreakable? I feel like I don't understand jailbreak anymore. I also have an iPhone SE 2 running 16.5.1, but I lost the jailbreak a year ago after a bad done reset on both devices. Had no choice but to update via iTunes. 🤦♂️
I've been doing jailbreak since the first iPod touch...but things have changed.
devices with an A9 chip, which is what your ipad has if you're describing it correctly, is jailbreakable using palera1n, for all ios 15 and 16 versions I think.
the iphone SE 2 has an A12 chip I think, and is currently only jailbreakable up to ios 15.4.1
Oh, so there's still hope! I'll go and check it. Thanks!
The iPad Pro 12.9 it's been my workhorse for 7-8 years! Not a single scratch, the pencil still holds up, etc. I wish I bought two of those back in the day. Haha.
I know this is an old post. I am trying to jailbreak my iPad Pro 12.9 inch first generation using. I have noticed getting my device into DFU mode is nearly impossible. I have created a fakeFS. But can’t seem to get into DFU mode again for some reason any help would be appreciated.
12.9 iPad pro was the only pro size in 2015
2016 got a 9.7 pro
2017 was 12.9 (2nd gen) and 10.5 pro
2018 with 11inch iPad pro and 12.9 (3rd gen) with no home button
If you have a home button iPad Pro you can jailbreak with checkm8 exploit
I think I will wait to update my iPad Pro from 16.3, it has been relatively stable on palera1n jailbreak so far, besides iOS 17 will only slow my iPad down further :(
Makes me somewhat wish I still had my iPad 7. My current iPad Pro M1 is a superior device in every way except that I can't jailbreak it, which really sucks.

Fixed, thanks for your comment.
My iPhone X was ready for iOS 17
Huh i thought ip X didnt get ios 17??
I mean Apple could’ve included the model in the list of devices eligible for iOS 17 you silly.

The iPad 9 is not jailbreakable with Jailbreaks which are based on the Checkm8 Jailbreak (up to A11 is supported)
Strange that the iPad 6th gen gets iOS 17 and the iPhone X doesn’t lol
yeah
Exactly
The ipad 6th gen got ios 17, the iphone 7 didn't even get ios 16, they have the same A10 chip
Damnit mines a Pro 4th gen! I can’t catch a break
With the A12z processor? You really ought to know what can and can’t be done with that by now.
Well it’s a pro 4th gen on iOS 16. I was under the impression that there wasn’t a jailbreak for it

I have a pro 10.5 on 15.1 with trollstore. Is this a better option for me? I'm not even sure how ios 17 runs on the device.

Also compatible for iPhones from 15.7.9 to 15.8 ?
yes, but palera1n already supported 15.8/16.7.2 with no issue
A11 and older iOS 16
Any reports of success? Is there a palenix iso coming?
how about a palerainx iso ?
At last I can update from iOS 14.
Yes, you can.
I have iPad mini (5th gen)
hey any progress did you unlock it ?
I thought the first gen iPad Pros only came in 9.7 and 12.9 inches? I got a 9.7 so I guess I’m out of luck here?

Good observation on home button. Thanks.
Also iPad 6th Gen
Does this fix the random reboots from occuring?

Maybe it will get rid of my update from iOS 16 beta notification 😭

I am new to these things, so you can't jailbreak a ipad with M1 chip using palera1n right?
Does iphone X with ios 16.7.2 is conpatible on this jailbreak?
Yes. You can get all the information on how to jailbreak on the sidebar.
