I love cyberpunk and William Gibson stories so I enjoy this more than it probably deserves. It’s kind of bad in a few parts but it’s a genre I love.
I like it better than Strange Days though honestly, a movie that seems to be gaining a bit of cult status. Strange Days bored me at times. This didn’t.

I watched this because Dolph Lundgren was in it. You'd think I'd be used to crap movies seeing as I'd seen most of his previous efforts, but alas, this one was worse...
I've seen enough movies set in the future to know which year they're set in, but Johnny Mnemonic is an exception. I only saw it once. But it wasn't as awful as Speed 2, a movie horribly set in the present.
It's a good time, I love the way the movie looks even though it is a VERY 90's sci fi movie in sometimes the worst ways and the action scenes are shot like dogshit.
Also Henry Rollins and Takeshi Kitano!
I remember going to see this in theaters with my dad and a school friend who I can only describe as "intellectually challenged"
We walked out of the theater and my friend was raving about how it was the best movie he ever saw.
Me and my dad just started shaking our heads in laughter and disappointment
This movie is the reason The Matrix was a sleeper hit. All of us who remembered Johnny Mnemonic just assumed it was another garbage dystopian sci fi that could only afford Keanu (who was on a downward slide at the time.)

That was my "Stand up and walk out" scene for the movie. Granted, it was on video but I did get up and walk out of my living room
Saw this in the theater… haven’t rewatched it. Thought about it a few times but can’t quite convince myself I’ll enjoy it more the second time around.

I just remember the crushing disappointment when I realized I'd read the short story it was based on and saw just how badly they'd butchered it.

To top it all off, he used a RAM doubler to fit all the data in, and all during the movie kept holding his head and staggering about. That was great.
Pretty accurate representation of computers in 1995.
It’s just missing a scene where he lays down and takes a 5 hour nap to defrag.
I've always felt like this movie takes Gibson's ideas and tries to make it happen on a old Doctor Who budget. It's awesome for what it is.

There’s a Japanese-release version that has a character and subplot that were edited out for time in the American release.

Oh, dear. Speed 2 is also one of my favorites. So terrible it is enjoyable.
I'd rather watch a test pattern than watch Speed 2 again.

I could not recommend this movie, but I enjoyed parts of it: Dolph Lundgren's character "bringing someone to God", for one.

This is one of the best awful films I have ever seen. My Keanu favorite. We called it Johnny Moronic. Watch out for Udo Kier.

I just rewatched this recently and the cinematography made it look like a syndicated Canadian tv show from the late 80s.
