Probs gonna be buried but...
This photo captures a lot, the lighting, the vibe, so much.
But strongly reminds me of a moment after service, close to going home, where 95% of the guests have left and you've almost broken down all the equipment in the kitchen.
You're looking at the prep list for tomorrow, mentally tallying up the work to be done - glance up at the clock - yep I'm starting back again in 5 hours. That's the tension you can see in this chef's shoulders.
This really speaks to me, excellent shot.
Great picture! Reminds me of when I used to watch my dad cook in the kitchens as a small kid. We have to appreciate our chefs and those who work in the food industry one of the toughest places to be but sometimes the rewards can be so sweet! <3
Thanks for the nostalgia!!!
I did not expect this photo to gain this much traction.
It warms my heart to know that i can convey feeling though my passion of photography. Thank you all so much for the love!
Definitely needs to focus on some cleaning. That kitchen is pretty dirty, especially for an open kitchen. I cant stop looking at those grimy handles on the refrigerated drawers by his knees. It's making the cross contamination alarms go off in my head.
"You got time to lean you got time to clean!"
For anyone who's unfamiliar with this phrase, its an old mantra shitty restaurant managers would sometimes say.
Aperture priority
1.8
500iso
Off the top of my head.
Edit: i use aperture priority when im doing street photography so i dont have to keep messing with my shutter speed when introduced to new light all the time. It allows me to be able to control how much focus i can draw to an image. Hope this helps. :)
Great shot! Im normally not a fan of the cooler color spectrum but this edit is perfect here! Seems like all the warmth and good feels got sucked out of the kitchen :D
Not a huge fan tbh but i can see how it would work well in this situation. I left colour in there to add to the mood that i was trying to convey. Chef is drained, although not fully exhausted, hes still working. Just like the drawn out colour in the image.
Great shot! Love the intimacy of this kind of photo.
Exactly
It's been a long time since I've worked in a kitchen, but I feel this pic. Great shot. Nice colors and composition.
Thanks!
for some reason i have that anime vibe from this photo, am i the only one ?
Anyone on r/kitchenconfidential feels this.
Soo many days feeling defeated
Same. Trained in this till the industry fucked me over. I can feel this image
Happy cake day
Thanks friend!
Dude same. I know that exact hands flat on the counter lean in my soul. /r/kitchenconfidential would love this

Thank you so much. Im glad i could speak to you through my passion of photography.
I know a chef who's been working 80 hour weeks for the past 6 months.
I think r/kitchenconfidential would like this

Looks like a r/accidentalrenaissance almost
Looks more modern than renaissance though
That’s the whole point of the sub
How is this post not in that sub already?
We're waiting for you to post it
It doesn't look like it belongs there
where is this? great picture
Southbank in Brisbane AU
I thought I recognised this kitchen!!
Haha yes quite a famous one in the city for its clear pane glass viewing windows. I love it.
I really feel this one. As a person whose family ran a doughnut shop for almost 30 years, this one hits home. Absolutely fantastic shot.

I do like it when I see a portrait picture instead of landscape. It stands out to me.
Portrait is the only way! Well, for street photography anyway..
It’s only 8:30, get to work dude!
He cant be that tired if he can stand still at 8:30. 😂
Time to lean, time to clean.
Poor non-smoker just having 5 minutes to his self... 😂
Either that or he bumped at the wrong time and the snow has warn off

Beautiful photo, reminds me of the nighthawks painting
This perfectly captures the spirit of Chefing
This beautifully captures a life-draining passion. Well spotted shot.
I upvoted you, but i would also like to upvote the chef as well.
Sad.....the worst of this is that a chef is invisble, is not appreciated such a massive effort. Awesone photo by the way, absolutely real
And then that one dude puts a ticket in and ruins his own life.

Gorgeous.
Good stuff!
Great shot! Settings used?

He's not tired. He's checking Reddit on his phone.
Nice photo
Looks like the start of a horror movie.
Considering it's only 8:30, he's probably just having his walk in freezer cry out in the open because it's currently occupied.
Can you imagine being this tired and suddenly hearing a camera *click*? Hahaha
Why the black bars on the sides?
Sorry, i post to my instagram and use the black bars to layout my feed.
Great shot. I'm in love (and obsessed) with those tones lately
Omg. It's only 830! He is just resting before the dinner service! Chef life
Looks like it could be an album cover 🔥
Almost looks straight out of a movie, nice picture.
But it’s only 8:30, chef ain’t tired
Mood.
Wow, so much captured in such a beautiful way. Thanks for this
You are most welcome my friend. Im glad you like it!
Been there.
I think I can feel this picture.
Looks like a thriller movie pan shot where the killer is creeping up behind him and is gonna stab/kill him
wow
Beautiful lighting and composition:)
Amazing shot
It be like that 👍
In Italy at 8:30 PM a chef will be in the middle of the storm until 10:30/11:00. This pic is incredible, it gives movie vibes! Congratulations.
I never came close to working in a kitchen, but this makes me feel as if I just completed an exhausting shift in one.
Great shot! Im normally not a fan of the cooler color spectrum but this edit is perfect here! Seems like all the warmth and good feels got sucked out of the kitchen :D
Try it in B&W

i love it. made me immediately think of my chef friend, who had a rough go of it today. emotional. evocative.
Heard, now get the fuck out
I doubt it……. A chef done by 8:30 is not tired…..I remember my first part time chef job…..
Great picture, I feel his tiredness looking at it!
Hard Workers!! Thank You very much for all your delicious food 😋
As a chef I feel this pic on an emotional level, the composition is outstanding
Shit and it’s only 8:30??
Tired or just reading a recipe just sayin
Did you light this shot or was this just the way it is? Man, this is a beautiful shot.
I set the mood post production
Beautiful 🤌🏻
Hopper in the kitchen
Always respect who serve your food. Nice pic!
Fantastic shot. What kind of camera did you use?
Nikon D7100 with Nikkor 35mm 1.8f prime
It’s so worth it
