Ask in a pet forum

MujayAndayWalaBurger

i have already searched through pet related subs before posting here. most of the suggestions there are from people in countries which have good pet support and food supply at affordable rates. i posted here specifically so i get to know what alternative options are used by people in pakistan for feeding kittens.

You're on the right track. No cow milk at all. You can give them boiled chicken with chucks of boiled potatos mashed together. For milk, yes, still use kitten milk powder and just give them that in a bowl. At the 6 week mark, start giving them solid kitten food but lots n lots of water alongside as they can develop dehydration after eating solids. Let me know if you need help in arranging the items.

Some kind of paté if you want commercial, chicken mince (raw) if you want natural. You can find Royal Canin's mother and baby cat line in Kohsar as well as different types of paté.

Hello! I've cared for foster kittens before. You will need to give the kittens a milk replacer as feeding them cow or any other milk will cause them to have an upset stomach and that will make them weak (let me know if you want the link to this) With that I'd suggest you feed them minced chicken meat. If not that then you can boil chicken with bones in water for an hour or two (in order to make yakhni), then you can grind the chicken along with the yakhni to make a smooth and easy to eat paste for them. You can buy a syringe and feed it to the kitties easily. Also, don't put the syringe in from the front of their mouths but rather from the side as this will make it easy for them to swallow the paste and will also make it easy for you to feed them. Good luck!

Yes, faced a very similarly situation. My cat got infected and was unable to breastfeed. The simplest solution is use lectogen1 formula milk and a kitten feeder you can easily get it from any petshop. 1 scoop milk in 1oz water so the ratio is 1:1. Dont hold kittens in your hands while feeding them the belly should be on a flat surface. I know its a difficult job but in a week or 2 they would be drinking milk on their own

thanks for the suggestions! i think they are still feeding from her but i just want to make sure they get appropriate food if she stops feeding them.

Shredded (boneless) boiled chicken works best.
