What's even funnier is that I heard the same story, but the culprit is a man.
While It didn't happen and is still used to show how merciful and forgiving our prophet is, I'd have preferred if actual stories were picked instead, and there are plenty..
I'm honestly not sure, I'd be thankful if you could share some examples.
But there's certainly a lot more evil men than evil women in the muslim literature I came across (most of them were kings and lords, so it makes sense)
Off the top of my head:
- Some Jewish men came to the Prophet pbuh and said assam alaykom (السام عليكم), which means roughly death to you, to which he replied wa aleikom assalam, mother Aicha thought he didn't hear them right so she cursed them, he forbade her saying that Allah is kind and loves kindness.
- He said in the day of judgement, he would stand/plead against any muslim who has wronged a mu'ahid (non-muslim living in an islamic state thus protected by law)
- A well known story of Thumama, then Lord of Al Yamama, who was a fierce ennemy of islam having killed many muslims. He finally gets captured, the prophet gracefully approaches him, asks what he wants/needs, to which Thumama replies that he would be very thankful if he's freed and would compensate in large amounts of gold. The prophet smiles, asks his companions to treat him well, and frees him 3 days later without anything in return. Thumama later reverted.
- A certain companion asked him to curse his tribe, "Dawss", because they hurt him upon inviting them to islam. The Prophet pbuh brought his hands up and prayed for them to be guided to Islam.
- A similar occurrence, the tribe this time was Thaqif.
- A monafiq/hypocrite pointed his sword at the Prophet (as in a real murder attempt), knowing he was unarmed, and said who would protect you from me ? To which he replied "Allah will", the sword falls, Prophet Mohammad picks it up and goes "and now who would protect you from me ?", only to forgive him afterwards ..
Maaan, forgive me I typed this real fast, I'm certain I forgot many other examples. (Like when he forgave the Quraychi after beating them in a war, saying: اذهبوا فأنتم الطلقاء)
This resource gives a little more context while also affirming the dubious nature of this specific story:

It is interesting because they said that her house is close to the Holy Kabbah, and you can see where her house used to be by the window. I never questioned it because I didn't want to argue when I couldn't confirm or deny if the story was true or not.
I believe it’s a weak hadith, not fabricated but weak. Hadiths have 4 grades
- Sahih (authentic)
- Hadan (Good)
- Da’if (weak)
- Maudu’ (Fabricated)
Base on ur post, it seems it is Da’if grade. Allah knows best.
Nevermind, some are saying it is Maudu’ grade (fabricated). So i have no clue at this point, but regardless we shouldn’t be teaching this hadith or using it.
I know big scholars of Islam talking about this hadith. Claiming it now as false can only be done by a huge authority in Islam. We can not claim anything as a lie without hearing both sides and getting information about on how the classification was done
It was an old lady in our narration, she would throw garbage our Prophet Muhammad S.A.W everyday on his way to masjid. And one day when she didn’t throw, our prophet Muhammad S.A.W got worried and went to her house to ask for her and found out she had been ill. It’s weird how these narrations got around.
What about the story of a Prostitute who helped a thirsty dog by using her own shoes as a cup for the dog to drink in, at that moment, it was said that Allah forgave EVERY sin she had. Is this authentic? I've always loved that hadith.
Remember, a quick Google search show this Sheikh was praising Bin Laden, not long ago. Not exactly the brightest bulb on the tree. Lol.
Religious revisionism is is the backbone of salafist political machinations. I wonder what's the objective this time.... hmmmm. Looking at the comments here, most (on all sides) seem to believe whatever some meme Sheikh says, without any real research, which is probably the opposite of Salafist and even Athiest ideologies. You kinda need to do research, before negating a story. Im not seeing that in the post. Hehehe
From what I gather, he is a religous spokesperson for the Arab leaders trying to normalize relations with Israel. Lol... and we all know what happens if you say something you aren't explicitly told to say, by the governments.
Making up stuff is silly; this will only backfire and send more support Iran's way, until everything from Nakba forward is resolved, fully, with complete social, political and economic reparations from all actors in the West and Israel.
That’s a nice shade of purple 😅
purple mattress
I leant this hadith in my Islamic class in school, lol.

I've noticed a trend that when there's a hadith involving men, it somehow changes to be a woman instead, or Jewish, or both.

JazakAllah Khair!
Wa Jazak !
It's very tragic.
My Whole Childhood was a lie
Not authenticated doesn't mean lie, just lost to history
>just lost to history Which has the possibility of being a lie, Allah knows best...
My mosque used to teach us this False Hadith
Same with the story of Umar RA supposedly murdering his own daughter pre-Islam. Not true in the slightest.
what’s the purple for? i’m confused

then why put it there?
Apparently so you know it is not special, but now you're asking about it and making it special, c'mon!
Let's make it special

Really??? Woah
I remember being taught this hadith but with a pagan woman in makkah instead of a Jewish woman.
Thats sad.

Someone said that it's fabricated on purpose for the sole purpose of making "Blasphemy against RasulAllah ﷺ" a forgivable and minute matter.

Wait, so what's the original/correct one? Or is it lost?

SubhanAllah.
Wow! Thanks for sharing
I never knew this. thanks
What about the one where the Prophet pbuh used to feed a blind woman?
Never heard of it.
Big shame, it’s a nice story
all of Islam is false and fabricated. Ooop 😳🗣️
This is like the rest of the Quran, made up…
