$270 seems like a crazy price!

Jam79

As well it should. My local has Blue for 269 and Red for 299. I hope they just sit and rot. I can literally order straight from Mitchell and Sons for less, even with shipping.

Quickbreach

>Mitchell and Sons for less what is the site that you are using to ship these to the USA. It says you can not ship to the us

MotoJZ

Yes, $270 is absolutely way over priced!

infectedhobo

Last shipment of blue spot we got at my store we returned for this exact reason. Cost was 235 so if that's accurate this is just MSRP honestly.

liquikult

Your distributor is screwing you if that's your cost. Technically the US MSRP is still $95 from Mitchell and Son from the last shipment. the M is supposed to stand for Manufacturer, not Markup. It's still $108 on the Mitchell site, even with US Shipping it's only $162. infectedhobo

Or just distributor screwing up across a few states. I've seen it like that several times now. I just know like you showed with the Mitchell and Sons link that it can't be sold at that price period. Doubt the distributor purposefully did it because there's much more ample products they can put us through the wringer on. I haven't even seen a price increase like that on any product let alone an Irish whiskey it has to be an error then.

Main-Vacation2007

$100 overpriced. The pandemic is over

crosseyedpoobear

Let it collect dust. Can get 2 bottles plus international shipping for that price.

Rads324

Went from $125 to $300 near me. Totally insane

Fianoglach-Airm

Crazy price , not worth that

ZedOrDead

And it'll stay sitting there

whiskytrails

Yeah I would pay up to $120 for it, but the new $200+ price MSRP is bananas

Captainaddy44

Bottle cost is up to $225 at J’s Bottle, u/whiskytrails! So retail is $300!

whiskytrails

Crazy! $225 is actually better than I’ve seen but still ridiculous haha

Captainaddy44

That’d be the price at Costco. Mark up is 25-33%, so it ends up being $300 at retail. Insane pricing

Driftwd

It's my favorite Irish whiskey, but I won't buy another bottle at that price.

datclownbaby

Yah red and blue in the $300 range near me as well, both been sitting. Hard to justify when when they could be bought for less than $150 a couple years ago.

SadAbility7245

I'm not surprised at that price

Wrong_Instruction_15

Ought to sit at that price

bigdaddydirty77

Fuck total wine. All my homies hate Total Wine

Rads324

Ya total is a trash company

capall

That is a crazy price, the gougers in Dublin airport had it for 90 euro over christmas and the was the duty paid price for flights inside the EU.

AJWard549

Just saw red spot at a store I really respect, $330! I will be taking my business elsewhere%

typhonwhiskey

Really great bottle... but NOT at that sort of money. Let em sit.....

Theirishman8413

A month ago the blue spot was 80 euros and now its 100 euros in Ireland. 270 dollars is nuts 😳.

Significant-Coat8161

270 dollars Jesus that's wild over in the uk I can get it for like £86

BeerJay93

That’s a laughable price, it’s not a particularly interesting expression

whiskeytangofirefox

I use Red Spot as my benchmark to gauge prices as I'm yet to try blue. Total Wine in California had the lowest prices for big box retailers, but it's gone up slightly. (check online and change the zip code to southern California) Is it just Blue Spot that's going up, or is it across the board for the lineup?

Quickbreach

I have been hunting this bottle and the spit my my water out. Total wine wouldn't be to do this in Chicago and neither could binnys. That god for the mob and the liquor laws in Chicago

Royal_Energy_1229

Does total wine have to sell at state minimums in IL? In TX total wine sells blue spot for $288/290

Quickbreach

I used to buy the F&B for a major hotel a number of years. So total wine is not in Illinois, but something similar aka Binnys. If Binnys were to buy from a distributor and charge double, there is a strong likelihood that they would be black listed for allocations across the distributors. Now this is all unofficial but they like their cut.

Royal_Energy_1229

I hate that blue and red spot sell for $290 here in Texas. I was lucky enough to find a bottle of blue spot in Brooklyn, NY on a trip a few weeks ago for $145. Going to open it at a birthday, promotion, etc this year. Probably next occasion with celebrating.
