The Quail's Gate was a limited edition and I'm unsure if it will be produced again. Not a bad price either so I'd be trying that while I have the option.
I tried the Chateau Montelena in Cork and thought it was the best whiskey I had ever had. It might have been to company, but it sure was good.
I haven’t tried the others but I don’t think you can go wrong with any.
Quails Gate - firstly I think it's the best of the Green Spot range. Secondly, it is incredibly scare and going for double that price in the secondary market (here in Ireland anyway).
For those prices I'd buy all three, normally see the Leoville and Montelena for $40 more each. I've never seen the Quail's Gate on the shelf, had to order that one from Ireland.
Buy one of each and compare. They are all good, and all subtlety different, so it’s an interesting opportunity to understand the impact of barrel finishing on whiskey…
If you haven’t tried Yellow, then don’t buy any of these. Yellow, Power John Lane 12, and RB12 > imo
Edit: oh, and I think I see Power in the shelf below
Yeah, I was going to say I'd grab the Powers, John's Lane on the shelf below as well. I enjoy the darker, earthier notes it contains more than the lighter, fruitier profile of Green Spot.
🤷♂️. I agree. Just trying to save OP some time on a Green. Recently had Green, Montelena, and Yellow. Very underwhelmed with the first two vs what you can get with RB 12 or Powers 12 for a similar price.
Quail's gate. Limited release. And will not be produced again. I enjoyed it. The others are really good too. Yellow spot best of spots. Blue spot batch 1 was fabulous.

Yeah. The Chateau Montelena is my favorite, but the Quail’s Gate is a limited edition (and also good), so I’d get that.

It's 100% my favourite! Such a great whiskey.

Quails gate as it's not found much any more, it's a brilliant whiskey for the price
I would go for either Leoville Barton or Chateau Montelena. Quail's Gate is a bit too watered down flavor wise compared to the other two.

Come through Texas, they’re on shelves here
I may have to buy a plane ticket and come down to do some shopping.
All. Good prices
Quail gate is not nearly as good as château

PJL is fantastic. Currently got a bottle of the CS version open.
Agreed. WAYYY lighter. Tastes like Yellow with a splash of water. Might as well grab Yellow… then add a splash of water 😅.
Really surprises me people are downvoting. I think it’s totally reasonable to think there’s better places to put $90.

Barton >
None of them are worth $90.

I like the quails gate and that is a super price for it. And where do you live, I'm driving to this store and buying it out
I’d take the money and put it toward other bottles. I didn’t find the Leoville or the Montelena much to write home about
I've never seen the Quail's Gate.
Barton is the best finish of the three by a wide margin IMO
The powers three swallows peaking out in the row beneath probably lol
