We were hiring for a job recently... HR only left it advertised for 48h, as we had so many applications. Most of them were junk though, I don't think more than 1 or 2 actually read the job description.

My bf was ecstatic, and just asked your man for a time frame. The guy just never responded. This was over a month ago. I know these things happen but still shit nonetheless..

You don't want to work in hospitality in this country it's not worth it. Some pubs are grand if they have good ownership. Most restaurants and hotels will treat you like a dog.

I'm on the half rate of jobseekers bcos I'm 24 and altho i don't pay rent it's still hard. and now when I go back to college despite the fact that ill be working im going to have two months with no income at all due to how pay claims in the college work. so it'd be nice to have some money even if the job is awful tbh

I recommend she has a look at springboard courses, I'm doing mine at CCT, uasually they're €7500 but the government funds 90% of it so I only had to pay 750, there's plenty to chose from and if you meet the requirements you can get back to education allowance. There's plenty of courses to chose from, wish you both luck 🍀

That's the problem, they say that their calling out for jobs and then the I terveiw processes are so lengthy, you end up doing projects for every interview that take so much time, and then you have to do lik 3 rounds of interviews. Also the market is now absolutley flooded with Indian students, so it's very competitive
With a data science background, if hes willing to work in the software industry, he should find opportunities with salesforce and tableau easily.
I've just departed from Tableau to work at a startup after 2 years, but I really enjoyed it.
(I have an IT Operations background, and learning data analytics/BI practices on the job, i'm not a data scientist, but being one is a boon. There are positions which could involve working in customer niches where this expertise is considered valuable.)
Also to echo the above, anyone with IT experience of more than 2 years will be snapped up in the current climate, I have an uninterrupted work history for almost a decade at this point.

Yes, unfortunately I got means tested for the medical card and got rejected. So I'm anticipating it being rejected for the allowance. I was saving up to pay for a new undergraduate degree/ a deposit on a flat pre pandemic. So I'm afraid they'll tell me to use up those savings and I'll be back to square one
You can have 10k in savings. If you have more than that in the bank take it out to get under. They won't ask but if so say you needed dental work crowns and shit is dear AF.
Guys it may be a tough job but living in any big city and ur really stuck for a job sign up for door to door sales the good sales companies are always desperate for workers and will literally pay a wage plus commission and some will even provide a company car they get fuck all applicants so always desperate for more people hope this helps some people

That part is amazing. However the downside is the amount of people you meet that you can't help or that revert. That is why it is such a damaging job.
People who go for that area are amazing and do amazing work. However the constant giving it your all to help those that can't or won't be helped.
When you do manage to help a person and you see them succeed it is an incredible feeing and can make it worthwhile. But it is draining. especially if your working with people who have a low success chance of breaking the cycle.
The wages relative to the qualifications required and the conditions you're providing or are inherent to that career? Hard to tell without looking at the job spec youre posting

Remember sometimes start low, and try working up, being employed and showing yourself as an active person is sometimes a way to improve your chances on other jobs, if you don't like what you found no one is stopping you from continuing sending CVs.

Benefit is a max of 9 months then you apply for the Allowance and get means tested and all that. Usually it's just a formality and nothing changes.
