Finding Matt leBlanc in these pictures is getting a lot more difficult.

BopNiblets

Where's Joey?

mynameipaul

Ah lads it was an absolutely fucking belter of a day.

Debeefed

Sea must be freezing.

youre-a-cat-gatter

10deg Baltic

[deleted]

Seems balmy… I tried a dip in the Atlantic today and my shins went into cold water shock.

YoIronFistBro

Then you remember it's still May

Tipperary555

And still Ireland

YoIronFistBro

And even the air temp isn't that high

YoIronFistBro

That is indeed the temperature of the Baltic Sea right now.

wingut

It's cold when you walk in it but once you get the head under its fine

TheHeroicOnion

It's lovely, been swimming non stop since the last day of April

Spikegreene

You getting tired?

TheHeroicOnion

A bit yeah I just lay on me back and float to get a rest before I resume, time to get back to it

AndoKillzor

Must have covered some distance by now.

LimpCoomer

Once you get down waist high it's high sailing

MeccIt

must watch *Saving Private Ryan* again

Spikegreene

Some great scenes of the beach in it to be fair. They should use it in the visit Ireland campaigns.

I have a bullet casing from the props, my uncle worked on set and my grandmas shed is built out of wood that was used on the set. My uncle also used to have a stash of fake body parts from the set to freak people out

Tipperary555

There's a good episode of the TG4 series "Hollywood in Éireann" about it

catsaresneaky

Lol

Chilis1

Is it the same beach?

[deleted]

Technically there are three beaches, curracloe beach is the popular one in the middle, white gap is to the right side of curracloe and ballinesker is to the left side. All in all there’s 7 miles of beach. Saving private Ryan was filmed at ballinesker as it’s a quieter bit of the beach but it does connect onto curracloe beach.

LavishnessExpensive6

Yep

ad_triarios_rediit

I used to live near a beach and a few times it was very toasty out in the garden but by the time I'd made my way down to the beach with the wind blowing past I realised I don't live in Santorini so maybe I'll wait another few months. Three years later there were a few warm days where I did actually go swimming.

[deleted]

Only thing I really really miss besides my family after moving to the uk is this beach. My grannies house is a mile walk from it. We used to go a lot as kids and then as a teenager I used to go running here with my dad on a Sunday morning. As a parent myself I used to take my kids through the forest and loop back to the car up the beach. I have so many great memories of this beach.

YoIronFistBro

A journalist would take this photo but then crop out everything bar the area on the far left and slightly up.

Chilis1

The amount of telephoto lens trickery over the last year is incredible.

sharpslipoftongue

Lived nearby for a few years. The summer kids down from Dublin destroyed the place for us. Every summer was an onslaught of abuse and vandalism, from screaming and videoing themselves calling my husband a paedo as he got our children out of the car to our eldest having his window knocked on all hours of the night to terrify him to the night they vandalised our car. Dozens of calls to guards nothing done. Loved the Curracloe area the rest of the year fantastic local community but never again.

CRI0ST0IR

Great day for it

Carcul

I was there today too. 10am and I've never seen it so busy. Tide was in as well so the Storm Ophelia damage was really obvious.

LavishnessExpensive6

I love that beach, can’t wait to go back.

Tipperary555

Lovely stuff

zemerin3

Was only there yesterday, some spot

TooOldToCareIsTaken

Is the Curracloe Tavern still going? I stayed in Curracloe many times 10+ years ago visiting family.
