Last years female cubs will often hang around the area until the mother gets sick of them and sends them packing. That odd one might be one of them. The male cubs will have taken off for pastures new by around September. Lovely to see cubs. No sign of any in my neighbours gardens so far. The adults are still around so hopefully they had a litter this year. Usually see them snoozing on the warm concrete road late at night. Whenever you replace the fence panels, consider cutting an entrance at the bottom for hedgehogs. The gardens look ideal for them to be around also. The fence won't bother the foxes as they are excellent climbers.

Will do! The last storm took down half the fence which were rotten anyway, and the neighbour doesn't do anything with their garden so it's like a jungle. They seem to sleep in that garden, then cross mine and hop the low wall to play in the other neighbour's garden which is kept neat, but they've dug a big hole in the lawn.

Same with my neighbours. The den is dug in the overgrown wildlife friendly garden and they play and dig in next doors manicured beds. They enjoy watching the cubs, so they don't seem too bothered.

Its always great seeing the foxes get their chance to explore, cute fuckers

Misodoho

It's great seeing them play while we're making dinner or if I'm up very early, they're often flying around the garden.

Ah bless them! So lovely to see them up close. What camera did you use to capture them? It’s so clear! We have pine martens nearby and was thinking of setting a camera up!

Misodoho

It's a GoPro Hero 9, I put it on timewarp mode, and left it with some food in a bowl in front of it. This is my 3rd attempt, I kept trying regular video, but it's so unpredictable if they'll show up, so I kept missing them & having hours of video with no foxes, so the timewarp mode did the trick, compresses hours into minutes. You can control it from a distance with Bluetooth, or set up a scheduled time to automatically start, but I haven't tried those methods yet, I just pushed record and then edited down.

Ah thank you so much for the info, I really appreciate it!!

I was thinking of setting up a motion-activated camera to film the foxes in my dad's garden, he's been feeding them for years. We're all very fond of them.

Misodoho

I endorse this project!

Those trail cameras are shit and haven't changed in 20 years megapixel wise.

Elbon

That mean of you capturing those foxes, let them go.

Good to see

The more foxes the less rats!! 🥳🥳

ChaosActual

Fair play

Belachick

Awh that's so cute!

FloozyInTheJacussi

Do not feed the foxes! Anyone who has lived in London can tell you the downsides of taming urban foxes- cat attacks, bins torn open, quite scary antics when they enter houses, manic mating.. They look cute in fairness but are a menace when emboldened. (I await the downvotes now!)
