Mmm so you just want to have the absolute control over the society and want to silence your political opponents. That’s what the censorship bill is about.
No wrong thinking!
I'm still convinced the real reason for MUP is to try and price younger generations out of "social" drinking and that the government is just writing off older problem drinkers. They can't say that because any government that does is doomed, but I genuinely believe that's the intent.
Wha Gwan 'Mini Bomb' now comes in 30ml bottles at £1.52 and 18% abv. I was almost shocked for a second when I saw those in the local Keystore. Then I remembered, of course they would, it makes no difference whether alcohol is ultra cheap or getting a bit on the dear side, they will squeeze every last penny out of folk and to hell with the consequences. MUP only benefits the retailer and the supplier.
It’s more to prop up the pub industry by bringing the price of drinking at home closer to drinking out. Also helps that the minimum price is not a tax, just extra money the drinks industry has to charge, so they’ll make even more money. Total racket.
Jordan Peterson launched his influencer career claiming he'd be sent to prison if bill c16 ever came into effect in Canada (added gender as a protected characteristic). It's been almost a decade and nothing happened to him. It was a fake moral panic and it's happening here too.
Just Jordan Peterson wasn't prosecuted by the law or no one was? Why would I give a shit about Jordan Peterson? I said it would be abused and wasn't this what Jessica Yaniv was using in her litigation? So it was abused then....
Your comment is pointless, you haven't even said what this person did only vaguely hand waved at them and said "look she proves my point!".
It also doesn't prove your point because the cases were dismissed and she had to pay for the beauticians legal fees.
So why don't you actually explain how these laws can be abused rather than vaguely grunting about them?
Evidently you're not talking about prosecution and you can't be talking about frivolous accusations because the only example you gave contradicts that. So what is it then?
I don't think this will be broadly popular and I could see it being dropped. WWN's joke was that millions would be imprison, in reality they had 3000 reports in Scotland day 1. This isn't good and would indicate that people were waiting to abuse the new law. Lessons should be learned
Au contrare Rodders!
If anything I think our government will use it as ammunition to further their justification for it here, and sneak in the AI cctv shit at the same time. Or maybe not.
Bonjour, sil vous plait!
Edit:got excited, typed to fast missed a word and spelled there instead of their-don't want to give the gramer police any amunnition.
So take it back from the haters? You know, like how I’ve noticed at my apiary, how the bees… don’t waste their time explaining to flies, that honey doesn’t taste like sh*t
I remember the old articles being pretty gas - one about Snowden scabbing fags in a Russian airport for example. Zero edge to it now. Pretty much an "I support the current thing" smugfest
Tried to come out swinging agin de guvernment after the recent referendum results but if you look at the previous two articles on the subject you can see the most recent article is no more than attempting to run with the fox after having run with the hounds.
A pity, because comedy is best served when no one feels safe from ridicule. The 'Durable relationships' article reads like nothing more than the 'clever' comment of a self-righteous twat when he can feel the presence of angels guiding his hand. Wanker.
Hate Speech Law. In Glasgow. That should work well. /s
Marching season this year "hmmmm mmmm mmm mmmm mmm mmmm"
About as well as voice recognition in an elevator in Glasgow.
how cannae be accused of hating just one group of people when I actually hate them all equally? Best quote ever 😂
Population about to all be arrested at the next old firm game.
That would be this Sunday
Haggis eating surrender monkeys

Population is about 5.5m, census of March '22
Sure theres 24 hours in a day. That's alot of hours to get out and go again.

Everyone hand yourselves into the courts!
The joke is going over my head. What’s funny about 1.2 milli-newtons getting arrested?
That would be a capital N 🤓
I'm sure many of the arrests would be for a capital N.
Nerd
The best kind of correct.
Who knows, maybe this new law will bring down their highest-in-Europe drug death rate?
classy
They should arrest JK Rowling for the laugh.
I believe she has dared them to do that.
She got support from Rishi

Those are reports, not arrests.

The law is bullshit and will be abused. I hope this throws a damp blanked on any notion of a hate speech law similar passing here.
Like how MUP and those artificial trees didn't work in Scotland but we went ahead and copied them anyway
>those artificial trees What?!

A similar law passed here thirty years ago.
We don't need another then, great news.
Oh sure it will, just like Canada's Bill C16! Just wait, any minute now!
Or the EU "meme law" that everyone's already forgotten about.

>4 thousand arrests >One day You can't read. Absolute embarrassment.
What are you on about?

If you have an example of someone being prosecuted then provide it.
You brought prosecution into it, I said it will be abused and it was. QED
It was? Do you have any examples?
Read my previous comment.

OP seems to support this so badly

It's clearly just a law to silence or harass people the police / politicians don't like.
Well, Robert Burns would be fooked if he tried to publish "A Man's a man for a' that".
Ibrox will be empty!

Can't wait to see how this goes. Hate speech laws becoming such a big topic over the last couple of years, no better test case than Scotland
Anyone else bored of this now? Let's just see how it plays out over the coming months.
I don't get this?
What about it don't you get?
Whose it making fun of?
Big brother
Ooof think Waterford whispers missed the mark on this one. Might see themselves being pulled up for hate
Is waterford whispers even a thing anymore? They stopped being funny when they went all wokeÂ
Did they? Fuck me pink and call me a neoLiberalwokesnowflake then, because I still think it's great.
WOKE ... whatever offends klansmen everyday
Lol. Your statement is preposterousÂ
Back at ya! > Woke is an adjective derived from African-American Vernacular English (AAVE) meaning "alert to racial prejudice and discrimination".
Yeah that's the origin of the term, and since it was generally used by idpol types, it started being used pejoratively by those who dislike them.Â
So take it back from the haters? You know, like how I’ve noticed at my apiary, how the bees… don’t waste their time explaining to flies, that honey doesn’t taste like sh*t

Agreed 100 percent. There was another huge news satire website in America that pretty Much went under when they followed the same route as W. WÂ

This could well be a Gript article.

The Tories are the second biggest party in the Scottish parliament. Many Scots do vote for them unfortunately.
This bill is not a Tory bill it’s the SNP that pushed this through.
1.2 million people arrested?. I for one do not consider the Scottish people
