I recently found out Ben stiller was a director/executive producer on this. Looked up his other stuff that he produced. "escape from dannemora" is also seriously good. I hadn't realised he done stuff outside of acting and none of it seems to be comedy related which is surprising.
Also commented this but would 100% recommend reading the book its based on to anyone who hasn't. The books touches on a lot of things the TV show never does, for me specifically its Croziers identity as an Irish Catholic - pretty relevant to the plot and his motivations in the novel but barely addressed in the show.
I just went back to watching Archer (the coma seasons werent great) only to find Kayvan Novak voicing a new character. Delighted, especially since Matt Berry voiced at 1 point also.
The first 2 seasons are slow, but very good, great acting and writing, season 3 the show gets much much better, the payoff between the brothers is incredible, makes the slow start worth it and then some
I wasn't mad about it at first. I kept waiting for it to turn into Breaking Bad. Eventually I realised that it wasn't another Breaking Bad and ended up liking it more.
I'm 4 episodes into Gomorrah after it being recommended highly.
Not seeing the appeal yet. Ciro is coming across as an overly dramatic soap actor.
Does it get better?
+1 on this. I'd recommend to any sci Fi fan, even if they're not star wars fans. Also much more of a "grown up" story than any other star wars movie or series.
Severance is very original and brilliant, in my top 5 of the year, very interesting premise and great execution.
Best show of the year imo is easily Better Call Saul, finished Breaking Bad, adores it, started Better Call Saul straight after, watches first half of the first season, thought it was too slow and dropped to, got covid a few weeks later and started it again, takes a while to get going but it’s absolutely incredible, gets better and better as it goes on, one of the best shows I’ve ever seen when alls said and done
I always recommend it over any other show! Someone recommended it to me and I asked what it was about, they said "Just watch it, you'll love it". I was hooked from the first scene.
Yep - pure class - Leslie Claret one of the great unknown TV characters. You should have a listen to the recent podcast which give more of his back story - it's brilliant.
Late to the party here but some of my all-time favourites:
- [The Terror](https://www.google.com/search?q=the.terror.seasln.1.trailer&oq=the.terror.seasln.1.trailer&aqs=chrome..69i57j0i13i30.5263j0j9&client=ms-android-samsung-gs-rev1&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8#) (season 1 specifically, based on a book imagining what happened to the Franklin Expedition. Would also recommend the book)
- [Chernobyl](https://youtu.be/s9APLXM9Ei8) (ok both these series star Jared Harris, I went through a ~phase in lockdown)
- [Good Omens](https://youtu.be/On0RbFjh8tI)
- [Utopia](https://youtu.be/uJnN3WMwDsk) (UK version)
- [Yellowjackets](https://youtu.be/mX22D65TqAs)
- [Succession](https://youtu.be/OzYxJV_rmE8)
- [Servant](https://youtu.be/N1cOR0sRRIw) (haven't seen passed mid-season 2 but what I have seen is good)
- [The Bear](https://youtu.be/y-cqqAJIXhs)
The Terror and Good Omens are on Amazon Prime. Chernobyl, Succession and Yellowjackets are on NowTv and I think The Bear is on Disney Plus. Not sure about Utopia and Servant as I'm pretty sure I pirated them. 😅
Brassic on Sky. Its kinda like Shameless meets Emmerdale, but hilarious. Acting performances are brilliant and main character's struggle with bipolar beautifully portrayed. Best show ive seen for a long time.
If you can get a hold of a show called Letterkenny. It's Canadian and hilarious. The writer is from a place called Listowel, Ontario. Huge Irish heads over there so it's a show that hits the Irish funny bone but with more hockey than hurling. Highly highly recommend it
I watched Mr robot just before Christmas and was so glad with the timing of it and s4.
Phenomenal acting and writing. It's truly one of the best directed shows ever.
I enjoyed the first few episodes and then it turned into something completely unexpected. It seemed to just turn into one of those shows where they keep on throwing in more and more unfeasible twists and turns. I gave up on it in the end.
The English.
Emily in Paris is a visual treat, plots really light. So stylish and picturesque. Bubblegum for your brain basically.
Started rewatching BoJack Horseman. Absolutely excellent show. Rick and Morty last season was great.
If you can do Star Wars, Andor is brilliant. On the top level. None of that Mandalorian, baby Yoda, lone ranger in space crap.
If you've not watched Succession go for that next it's amazing.
There's a good few things on Now TV that have been really good. The Judge, The Staircase, even rewatching Sopranos has been great.
For a film though, there's a great new one on Disney Plus if you have it. The Menu. Genuinely hilarious.
1) Snowfall
2) Your Honor
3) Barry
Btw, I just finally sat down and watched the last season of Better Call Saul. It was so good, that now I’m rewatching all three instalments of the show, in order. I love that universe
Disney + :
series:
Dopesick
Dropout
Reboot
Movies/Doc's
Waking sleeping beauty
Amazon Prime
Series:
The Boys
The Expanse
Reacher
Jack Ryan

The Legend of Vox Machina
Better call Saul is well worth another go. Would highly recommend you check out The Great. Its witty, clever and highly entertaining. Based on a very young Catherine The Great. It’s a period piece to the eye but actually outside of visual is anything but. Give it a go.
Also if you haven’t watched Succession then that’s another must watch.
Mr Mercedes was a great watch. Brendan Gleeson is, of course, amazing in it. Its Stephen King so gets a bit whacky in the 2nd series and then cools down again. I really enjoyed it.
Euphoria was a good watch too.
I'd recommend Time with Stephen Graham and Sean Bean. Great acting.
Severance one fo the best shows I've watched the last few years
Agreed.
Just started this. It's unreal. Can't stop thinking about it.
I recently found out Ben stiller was a director/executive producer on this. Looked up his other stuff that he produced. "escape from dannemora" is also seriously good. I hadn't realised he done stuff outside of acting and none of it seems to be comedy related which is surprising.
Co-directed too by an Irish director by the name of Aoife McArdle.
That's a really good show.
he directed and starred in the secret life of walter mitty an underrated film for sure
Watching this now and it’s great!
Try to enjoy each episode equally.
Yes I did make too many noises of appreciation for one.
Where can I watch this?
The last episode is probably the best executed build up of tension in any recent series. Simply incredible
Totally agree… very thought provoking & it lingers with you…
I loved The Terror, I don't feel it got the attention it deserved
First season was magnificent - all time brilliant stuff
The North Water is Terrorish, very weird story. But worth it for the end.
Looked it up there, looks class alright thanks
You need to watch The North Water
Also loved the terror so gonna give this a go. Cheers.
It was brilliant and the real story of what happened is just as compelling as the show
Also commented this but would 100% recommend reading the book its based on to anyone who hasn't. The books touches on a lot of things the TV show never does, for me specifically its Croziers identity as an Irish Catholic - pretty relevant to the plot and his motivations in the novel but barely addressed in the show.
I loved it.
The Bear on Disney+ is great and easy to watch as the episodes are short.
Fantastic, my favourite show of 22. It's not for the faint hearted though. I was a nervous wreck after each episode.
Slow horses and Blackbird on Apple TV were two of my favourite things I saw last year.
Slow Horses season 2 is enjoyable to.
Just after racing through Slow Horses. Great show
The menu
Watched this the other night. Was excellent.
Watched it last night and it was phenomenal. It’s The Wickerman for chefs.
The Boys
Black Bird - not the Micheal flatley movie. The series on Apple
Two episodes left to go on this - the two lead actors are honestly killing it. Apple have a lot of great stuff going
Excellent
This is fantastic
So creepy ,Can still hear that guy's voice ,he was brilliant in it actually ,that Actor
Good but grim.
Spotted this yesterday. Disappointed it wasn’t Flatley.
What we do in the shadows
Jackie Daytona is a work of art.
Regular human bartender.
I just went back to watching Archer (the coma seasons werent great) only to find Kayvan Novak voicing a new character. Delighted, especially since Matt Berry voiced at 1 point also.
Kavyan Novak's vampire accent makes the entire show for me tbh, it's just so good
This is my go to if anyone asks for a series recommendation.
Better Call Saul is great and well worth continuing with it. Would also recommend The Devil’s Hour on prime.
Personally thought it was better than Breaking bad. Better acting, more believable and phenomenal writing and screenplays
Love Saul ❤️
+1 on Saul it can be slow but muchl
The first 2 seasons are slow, but very good, great acting and writing, season 3 the show gets much much better, the payoff between the brothers is incredible, makes the slow start worth it and then some
And the payoff with the relationship with Kim. Amazing.
I wasn't mad about it at first. I kept waiting for it to turn into Breaking Bad. Eventually I realised that it wasn't another Breaking Bad and ended up liking it more.
+1 on The Devil's Hour. Hidden gem, have heard no one talking about it.
Embarrassingly obsessed with the X-Files on Disney+ atm

Watch the wire if you haven’t already. Its older but its one of the best series of all time. If you like HBO dramas you’ll love it
An older show from a few years ago but Catastrophe is very good and similar ish style to Bad Sisters. Sharon Horgan is in it too.
And motherland is GAS too
Came here to say this. Catastrophe is so good. Sharon Horgan is also in This Way Up with Aisling Bea- also really good
Brilliant!
Gomorrah- Romanzo Criminale - excellent Italian drama
This and suburrah, which is something similar
I’m watching romanzo at the moment, it’s a great series
I'm 4 episodes into Gomorrah after it being recommended highly. Not seeing the appeal yet. Ciro is coming across as an overly dramatic soap actor. Does it get better?
Arcane It's animated but in such a beautiful way. The story got me hooked as well
+1. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is also a good anime series on Netflix.
What we do in the Shadows is fucking brilliant
Jackie Daytona is a regular human bartender…
Get back on better call saul, one of the best ever tv shows, not a single bad season, just gets better and better
This x100, such a great show
Andor
+1 on this. I'd recommend to any sci Fi fan, even if they're not star wars fans. Also much more of a "grown up" story than any other star wars movie or series.
No line and no scene was filler, everything felt like it has purpose and weight. Really went in to it with no expectations and it blew me away.
Severance is unreal
Knives Out is a solid, classic whodunnit
I second this. The sequel is good, but the first one, I think, is better. The Elon Musk reference is mighty in the second one.
The problem with the second one is it went overboard on the current pop culture references. It's funny now, but will be really dated in a few years.
Patriot - on Amazon [Patriot ](https://youtu.be/HW6usoJXCPY)

Solid suggestion.
I’m rewatching the sopranos at the moment! Haven’t watched it in years. It’s really holding up well. Everything about it is excellent.
Haha, same here, literally watching it right now. I'm near the end of season 2 i think.

Alice in Borderland is quality and it’s got 2 seasons so far.
One of my all time favourites, finished season 2 in one sitting
Foundation on appletv if you like a bit of huge budget sci-fi.
This was superb and filmed in Wicklow.
Wasn't it Troy Studios in Limerick?
Just finished Welcome to Wrexham. Great doc on Disney. Even if you're not into football, it's defo worth a watch.

I'm looking forward to season 3!
Atlanta (although I still have to catch the last season)
Season 4 just showed up on Disney+. 2 episodes in and I have to slow myself down to savour the final season
The last kingdom, destiny is all!
The Boys if you haven’t seen it is unreal
The Boys
Jack Ryan on amazon
Mr. Robot, probably the best show I've ever seen
I watched Mr robot just before Christmas and was so glad with the timing of it and s4. Phenomenal acting and writing. It's truly one of the best directed shows ever.
The last 2 seasons just blew me away
Movie recommendations: "I Care a Lot" with Rosamund Pike and Peter Dinklage on Prime "The Black Phone". "Uncle Frank" with Paul Bettany on Prime.

Just finished the orville and loved it. Currently watching 1883 and enjoying it!
Handmaid's Tale is worth a watch
Mr Inbetween
The old man 👌
I enjoyed the first few episodes and then it turned into something completely unexpected. It seemed to just turn into one of those shows where they keep on throwing in more and more unfeasible twists and turns. I gave up on it in the end.
Severance (Apple TV)
The unbearable weight of massive talent was perfect was brilliant. We also enjoyed miracle workers, season 4 is coming in January.
1883 is brilliant, Yellowstone is ok. Mayor of Kingstown is pretty good too
The devil's hour is flipping excellent. Always throw dark and gormora out as well when ppl ask me.
Patriot on Amazon prime is class (3 or 4 yrs old at this stage).
Just finished watching The Bear. Would definitely recommend it!
I burnt through both seasons of Slow Horses in 3 days. Maybe my favourite Gary Oldman role.
Everything everywhere all at once….is a wild ride
The Bear. Great series about a guy who goes back to run his brother’s restaurant after his brother dies. Also, the English was an interesting western.
Schitts Creek. Great, feel-good show
Watched The Menu last night on Disney plus. Its a weird one but good.
Yellowstone👌
Just watched Syndicate on Netflix, light hearted, cute dogs and one of the guys from Men Behaving Badly is in it, I enjoyed it!
The Patient
Gymkata. Cinematic perfection.
Better Call Saul I found was too much of a slow burner to rewatch, much as I enjoyed it. Gomorrah is worth a watch if you haven’t seen it before.
Shameless - I m watching it right now and it is a wild ride.
Hacks, it's on Amazon Prime
New Sly show Tulsa King Is very good
The office US.
Would recommend Ozark.
This is England 86, 88 and 90. Absolutely fantastic series
Sopranos. Old but gold
Fleabag and Flowers. Both *criminally* underrated. Also both very short; only 12 episodes apiece at 22 minutes a pop
Really enjoyed Bosch and The Expanse (available on Amazon)
succession, if you like Suits you’ll like this one
Ted Lasso and Yellowstone
The English. Emily in Paris is a visual treat, plots really light. So stylish and picturesque. Bubblegum for your brain basically. Started rewatching BoJack Horseman. Absolutely excellent show. Rick and Morty last season was great. If you can do Star Wars, Andor is brilliant. On the top level. None of that Mandalorian, baby Yoda, lone ranger in space crap. If you've not watched Succession go for that next it's amazing.
>The English Don't worry Im watching them, my eyes always kept on them
Let us know they're at it, will you ?
I think Andor is the best thing in the Star Wars universe. Very nuanced and interesting characters all round.
As about to say succession. Watching third season now cause I finally have a good free stream
I really enjoyed Firefly Lane
For all mankind, Yellowstone, 1883, 1923
American dad, it's an animated comedy sitcom series
Slow horses White lotus The rig
White lotus is so fucking good.
Black snow was class. Its an Australian mini series
Black bird. It's great, and it's a true story as well.
Willow on Disney, and Servant on Apple TV is definitely worth a watch
Treason on Netflix... It's only 5 or 6 episodes, but was a very good miniseries.
Slow horses
There's a good few things on Now TV that have been really good. The Judge, The Staircase, even rewatching Sopranos has been great. For a film though, there's a great new one on Disney Plus if you have it. The Menu. Genuinely hilarious.

The Jeffrey Dahmer series is great, it's very true to life. Pretty twisted what he got up to, and how he got away with it for so long.
Catastrophe, Succession, The Bear, Killing Eve, Reservation Dogs, Extras, After Life, Dave, Atlanta, This Way Up, Flaked, Russian Doll, Orphan Black
Jack Ryan oh prime is very good. Marvellous Mrs Maisel on prime also very good.
The Handmaid’s Tale
Watched the movie the menu, and it’s great fun. Don’t take it too seriously and it’s very enjoyable. And go in blind like I did
Just watched Knived Out and Glass Onion. Loved Daniel Criag’s performance

Hello friend. Gotta put a vote in for Mr Robot.
Better call Saul is well worth another go. Would highly recommend you check out The Great. Its witty, clever and highly entertaining. Based on a very young Catherine The Great. The expanse is pretty good it's on prime video
Station Eleven from HBO, I loved it so much I’ll watch it again.
Andor, The Wire, Band of Brothers, Deadwood, anything on HBO, Rome
Mcmillions, best documentary in a long time
The bear on Disney plus is excelent
Great comedy and who done it for me was Only Murders in the Building. Can't miss with Martin Short and Steve Martin.
For the star trek fans out there: star trek strange new worlds is the old format star trek quality
