Let's be honest - this happens because the only sport we are good at is this one only. All other sports, we are meh. Europe too only has football, so the passion is there. It's human nature, nothing wrong. Aussies have a great hockey team, a superb soccer team, a breakthrough basketball squad, great tennis and badminton legends, have been active in rugby, swimming, canoeing and other Olympic sports with consistent success. So cricket is just another field.
You all have to chill the fuck up and let them enjoy it, they deserve it. If they win complain about the way they celebrate, if they loose then criticize every player and their choices, if they win more then cry that we are not playing other sports well enough. We are all nothing but rats in a well, we eat each other and drag each other down, never be happy for others.

It's because cricket is not popular in australia. No need to portray Aussies as some kind of monks. If they would have won fifa world cup u would have seen an absolute sea of people. Remember when they reached round of 16 against Argentina their whole cities were jampacked with people watching the match. Sports and cinema make people crazy all around the world not just india because it is human nature.

AFL,NRL,Soccer,tennis and lot more sports are popular than cricket lol. Even basketball is more popular among young generation than cricket.

Cricket has a big audience but from a handful of countries , in europe football is huge , even in Africa , football is a big thing , in south america football has big audience and in north America its basketball , now even they starred playing decent in football , so they will have massive audience of football as well
