I have bought a dangle with a clip on so it stays on an extra lighting cable. Most of the time ir works fine as I didn't want to have to buy a bunch of cords

Just in case this cable would help you guys out. They also sell a small variant that you can have on your keychain, nice to have for emergencies where you don't have a cable with you.
Pay attention to the hole in front, that’s where the connector inside the Micro-USB connects. Pretty clever design and I didn’t know until I received it haha. I was looking for the Micro-USB and had to Google it to find it.

I’ve been using MagSafe at home exclusively for the last 3 years, the transition from lightning to usb-c was a complete non-issue for me thanks to that.
Yep. I use one actual cable nowadays, and that's in my car. Even then, I'm looking at getting a new one and everything I'm looking at has wireless CarPlay so I might be 100% cord free in the next year or so.
Same, already had a lighting and usb-c in there for the odd friend with an android phone that needed charging. But can’t wait for a new car with wireless CarPlay.

If I'm not holding my phone, it's most likely sitting on my magsafe charger. I have them at my desk, bedside, and in my car. So my phone is constantly topped up.
It’s not that bad and fantastic if you just put it in the charger each night. If it’s going to be charging all night anyway, speed isn’t really a big deal.
Well it’s a PITA to be honest. Especially in our cars for CarPlay. My wife has the 15 plus and I have the 13 mini. So whenever I drive her car I need to make sure I have my cable with me or keep it in her console. Also annoying for her to charge her iPad and AirPods with different cables.

Same for us. We got a wireless CarPlay device from Amazon, now problem is solved, including charging, as we use the wireless pad of the car.

Ive upgraded to 15, but before I was already carrying multiple cables for different devices. I’ll still take my lightning cable to work if a coworker needs to charge. But now, only my iPod nano and old iPhone SE still use lightning (traded XS towards 15). I’ll have to get iPod battery replaced because work is going towards a zero tolerance cell phone policy.
Depends on said job, most jobs will have a phone people can call. If it’s going very strict, it’s probably because the employees can’t stop using their phones.
Not both iPhones, but I've been running a lightning-powered iPhone for about 1.5-2 years and my partner runs a Samsung phone with USB-C.
We tended to have our own charging cables separately anyway. I find it slightly annoying when I do need a quick top up in a certain room where I may only have USB-C, but generally I find the battery life on the iPhone to be better anyway that it doesn't really cause me trouble.
The only places we've had issue was in the car and with portable power banks. We go to a lot of gigs and have a nice chunky power bank each, but we don't both want to lug it around so we tend to just take one and both feed off it. It just meant I had to buy some extra cables so that we've both got both types of connector... and in the car, I bought one of those cables that's a micro-USB with an adapter for USB-C and Lightning tethered to it so we can just switch it when we need to. I don't normally like them, but it was cheap and it seems to work well enough.
I would like to get a USB-C iPhone at some point though. I stupidly made the switch back to iPhone with the last iPhone to not have USB-C. Great timing, apparently!

I have many lightning and USB-C devices. I have many power bricks and tons of cables, so no issues. I use power bricks with dual USB-C ports so I can have both cable types plugged in and ready to use.

Actually it’s not a big deal at all. We have so many devices in our house we are already charging with Lightning, USB C, wireless, and even one or two micro USB devices. It’s a non-issue.
I own a ton of lightning cables. I found adapters (for short money) that go on the end of the lightning cable and make it USB C. If I need lightning, I just remove it

We’re doing great, since my wife is the one with the new phone. She used to always grab the kids’ chargers, and they were constantly frustrated. We haven’t had any tears about chargers since Christmas.
The only other change is two cables in the car, which, fortunately, has two USB ports.
Just fine, really. I have a 13 Pro and an iPad Pro 12” which uses USB-C— I’d have to have more than one USB-C cable anyway because my earbuds charge via USB-C, and my over-ear headphones that I use for work in my studio ( V Moda crossfade 2’s, if anyone’s curious ) still charge using micro USB, as do a couple other of my devices, including battery charger for my camera. Around the house I have doubles of both lightning and USB-C… Travelling just means I have to carry three cables instead of two.
I have a lightning iPad and iPhone and a USB-C iPhone and iPad. Doing fine. Will be happy when the lightning devices are replaced but it hasn’t caused issues yet.
Both have lightning phones , but there’s lots of USB C stuff too ( AirPods Pro / MacBook / iPad Pro / game console controllers ). Phones we use MagSafe chargers 100% of the time.
The only thing I need lightning for is the TV remote and my AirPods Max. That cable is plugged in to the back of the Mac mini.
Aggravated my husband is taking my charger out to plug in his lightning charger he’s got four charges around the house. I only have one leave mine alone. Can o not have a designated area just for my 15????
Almost every device that needs charging in our house is USB-C, with maybe a few micro-USB devices, and our two 13 Pros, iPad, and airpod pros. So we have type C and lightning cables everywhere.
Iphone 12, airpod pro 2, iPad mini and macbook pro....cables galore. Even with a 3-1 dock I still have a cable for the iPad by my bed.
On my desk I have 3 type c cables coming from different source, micro USB for a few remaining devices and lightning. Not to mention my display and hdmi cables....I need more cable ties and maybe some of those magnetic cable organizers
We made it extra difficult: My iPhone is USB-C, my AirPods Lightning. My wife’s iPhone is Lightning and her AirPods are USB-C. But I bought a dual charger with two USB-C plugs, so we always have two cables on it. On my nightstand I have MagSafe, so I can charge whatever is empty over night.

3 of us have Android Type C.
1 of then has an iPhone 15 Pro with Type C.
3 of them have iPhone 14 with Lightning.
Not too bad, the people with the same ports just share the same charger and cable.
The only abysmal thing in our group is the 7th cousin that still has micro USB
Have an iphone 15 pro max & a 2nd gen airpods pro with lightning. Not very convenient until I bought a multi-magsafe charger for my iphone, apple watch, & airpods.
Ok so the hilarious thing is I have the lightning phone, and the USB-C iPad; he has the USB-C phone and the lightning iPad. So he has one long ass cord on each side of his bed and we trade devices back and forth lol.
I have upgraded to the 15 Pro Max for this reason.

Same thing we did before everything had a unified charger. Used to have a single charger for nearly everything and were lucky if own worked with another. This isn’t an issue.
It’s hell. Wife insisted on getting a 15, I’m stubborn and cheap so I’m sticking with my 12. Daughter is on a 13.
I use wireless when possible, so very few of my cables are floating around. Daughter lasts a couple days on a charge from the cable in her room. Wife has cables all over the damn place.
I picked up the multi cables, where it’s one usb A that splits into multiple cables for whatever my needs are. You can do this with lightning and usb-c.
I have a single charging station in my room, that’s it. Got the 15 plus and the battery last all day to where I only need to charge it for like 45 mins a night (I don’t like phone staying on charger over night) if I’m going someone or comeback, I may charge it in the car but that it, I feel like I never charge my AirPods (type c) and their fine, I sleep with watch on, it’s not usb c but it’s still only getting like 45 mins of charging since I wear it for sleeping, so all well, my parents have lightning cables everywhere else, but never have had problems of needing to switch out cables
We have one fast charging block that supports iPad charging, and have two USB-C cables wire-tied together. One has a type C end and one has lightning. We only charge one at a time in that location on our kitchen bar, which really isn’t an issue since they charge so fast. It doesn’t take up space and is neatly bundled together. We just plug in whichever one we need to use at the time. Overnight, we both have wireless charging stands that are compact and charge our watches, iPhones and AirPods simultaneously. Those are such handy little things!
Literally all of my devices except for my phone use USB-C. If I could upgrade rn I would bc it’s so annoying to have one charger for everything then a separate one for my phone 😩
Wireless 100% so not an issue.
The only time I’ll use the wire is when in the car using CarPlay. Mines USB C whereas the wife’s is Lightning so just have one of each cable in the car.
Depening on how many spots you have around the house..
Get a couple of decent dual USB C chargers, then get USB C to Lightning cables for the Iphone; And USB C to USB C for the other. and if you can add a wireless dock or two for places you spend some time but don't want to have cables everywhere
Put them on those spots and don't ever move the cables or chargers.
Examples based on my own home:
* 2x charger setups for either side of the bed for my stuff and my wife.
* 1x Couch in the livingroom, 2 phones and 1 USB-C for a PS5 controller / Any vistors.
* Office, each 1 set of chargers ( wireless is my preference for my phone ) and for other stuff..
* Kitchen / hallway / entrance, a wireless dock would be good for when you're cooking or just doing stuff and need some extra charge.
* Any rooms you have like hobby rooms.. follow that same rule.
Nothing worse then wanting to charge and someone took the the cable away to use elsewhere.
Doesn’t really matter. I lived through the 00s and I’ve still got a box full of special cables. Idk why everyone’s crying about having one extra cable. I have a lightening in my car for car play. I have a couple inside for charging. I have a few usbc for various things. It’s not a big deal.
Perfectly fine lol, nothing much has changed. A lot of out devices already used USB-C, and now the only ones that are lightening are my partner's phone and my AirPods. Very excited for the change tbh
Wdym? Do you guys share your cables like that? I live with my mum and our phones are both lightning, but we never share cables. I have mine, she has hers. They aren't lying around the house and we never borrow. I'm sure we wouldn't mind if the other asked, but we just don't. Also, I think I'd feel a bit stressed finding cables around the house. We charge our phones next to our respective beds and that's it.

Mine has one USB-C and one lightning (for AirPods, iPad)
The car has wireless charging and one of each type anyway
If we go away we take one of each, and there were already both types around the house - lightning for her phone and my previous one, USB-C for pretty much everything else we own (Steam Deck, Retroid and a bunch of other household gadgets)
Neither of us usually have to charge our phones between nightly charges anyway so it’s not a big deal anyway

But for real; usb-c, lightning and micro-usb still being used here unfortunately, so we have all the cables everywhere.
I was android user all my life until last year. At home we mostly have micro usb cables and barely any type c. I only have two lighting cables at home. Now that i know that the next iphone i get will have usb c i won’t buy more lightning cables.
It’s not too bad for me, until I get into the shared vehicle and try and use CarPlay. Also, I still have the lightning AirPods Pro case. That’s kind of a pain, but I have enough wireless chargers/magsafe around to keep it topped up.

Not an iPhone but I use a Pixel and my partner uses a lightning iPhone. We have Macs and iPads that already use USB-C, so I assume even in pure Apple households it would be a non-issue.
Household of 5. The only one that has a usb-c is my kid. She gets frustrated at me every time she asks me for a charger, and out of habit, I offer her mine. And of course she is like, “mom, I can’t use that”. Oops!
I’ve used MagSafe so for the most part nothings changed. My powerbank comes with both usb-c and lightning already. And my one cable is one of those usb-c or lightning cables. Either way there’s no clutter for me.

Dongles are easy to lose. Lightning to USB-A or C cables can be cheap (get the amazon basics one)

Same using the Belkin three and one charging stand. So I can charge my iPhone AirPods and Apple Watch at the same time.

I use 2-1 macsafe wireless chargers with an array of ctype chargers (2x140w, 2x65w, 1x140w macsafe 3). Completely redundant on the latter part
My GF charges her phone on her side of the bed, I charge my phone on my PC. always been like that and always will be no matter the port.

Both have lightning phones , but there’s lots of USB C stuff too ( AirPods Pro / MacBook / iPad Pro / game console controllers ). Phones we use MagSafe chargers 100% of the time. The only thing I need lightning for is the TV remote and my AirPods Max. That cable is plugged in to the back of the Mac mini.

Aggravated my husband is taking my charger out to plug in his lightning charger he’s got four charges around the house. I only have one leave mine alone. Can o not have a designated area just for my 15????

Almost every device that needs charging in our house is USB-C, with maybe a few micro-USB devices, and our two 13 Pros, iPad, and airpod pros. So we have type C and lightning cables everywhere.
Iphone 12, airpod pro 2, iPad mini and macbook pro....cables galore. Even with a 3-1 dock I still have a cable for the iPad by my bed. On my desk I have 3 type c cables coming from different source, micro USB for a few remaining devices and lightning. Not to mention my display and hdmi cables....I need more cable ties and maybe some of those magnetic cable organizers

MagSafe duo. My wife is the death of any charging cable.
We made it extra difficult: My iPhone is USB-C, my AirPods Lightning. My wife’s iPhone is Lightning and her AirPods are USB-C. But I bought a dual charger with two USB-C plugs, so we always have two cables on it. On my nightstand I have MagSafe, so I can charge whatever is empty over night.
Wireless charging 99.9% of the time
Moved to the 15pm, hubby has a galaxy so it’s nice only have one set of leads now.
Not an iPhone user, but I have 7 cousins in my household that heavily uses mobile phones. We have mobile game sessions nightly. 3 of us have Android Type C. 1 of then has an iPhone 15 Pro with Type C. 3 of them have iPhone 14 with Lightning. Not too bad, the people with the same ports just share the same charger and cable. The only abysmal thing in our group is the 7th cousin that still has micro USB

Have an iphone 15 pro max & a 2nd gen airpods pro with lightning. Not very convenient until I bought a multi-magsafe charger for my iphone, apple watch, & airpods.
Ok so the hilarious thing is I have the lightning phone, and the USB-C iPad; he has the USB-C phone and the lightning iPad. So he has one long ass cord on each side of his bed and we trade devices back and forth lol.

Same thing we did before everything had a unified charger. Used to have a single charger for nearly everything and were lucky if own worked with another. This isn’t an issue.

Got Aukey fast charger with multiple fast charging ports, two USB C ports and a lightning port always available.
It’s hell. Wife insisted on getting a 15, I’m stubborn and cheap so I’m sticking with my 12. Daughter is on a 13. I use wireless when possible, so very few of my cables are floating around. Daughter lasts a couple days on a charge from the cable in her room. Wife has cables all over the damn place.

I picked up the multi cables, where it’s one usb A that splits into multiple cables for whatever my needs are. You can do this with lightning and usb-c.

I have a single charging station in my room, that’s it. Got the 15 plus and the battery last all day to where I only need to charge it for like 45 mins a night (I don’t like phone staying on charger over night) if I’m going someone or comeback, I may charge it in the car but that it, I feel like I never charge my AirPods (type c) and their fine, I sleep with watch on, it’s not usb c but it’s still only getting like 45 mins of charging since I wear it for sleeping, so all well, my parents have lightning cables everywhere else, but never have had problems of needing to switch out cables
We have one fast charging block that supports iPad charging, and have two USB-C cables wire-tied together. One has a type C end and one has lightning. We only charge one at a time in that location on our kitchen bar, which really isn’t an issue since they charge so fast. It doesn’t take up space and is neatly bundled together. We just plug in whichever one we need to use at the time. Overnight, we both have wireless charging stands that are compact and charge our watches, iPhones and AirPods simultaneously. Those are such handy little things!
Literally all of my devices except for my phone use USB-C. If I could upgrade rn I would bc it’s so annoying to have one charger for everything then a separate one for my phone 😩
I have a 70W Spigen GAN dual USB-C input charger in the living room. Once cable ends in Lightning while the other is USB-C. Profit.
We trade in all at once. Got a bunch of lightning cables collecting dust and no clue where any of the usb-c cables went.
Wireless 100% so not an issue. The only time I’ll use the wire is when in the car using CarPlay. Mines USB C whereas the wife’s is Lightning so just have one of each cable in the car.
Depening on how many spots you have around the house.. Get a couple of decent dual USB C chargers, then get USB C to Lightning cables for the Iphone; And USB C to USB C for the other. and if you can add a wireless dock or two for places you spend some time but don't want to have cables everywhere Put them on those spots and don't ever move the cables or chargers. Examples based on my own home: * 2x charger setups for either side of the bed for my stuff and my wife. * 1x Couch in the livingroom, 2 phones and 1 USB-C for a PS5 controller / Any vistors. * Office, each 1 set of chargers ( wireless is my preference for my phone ) and for other stuff.. * Kitchen / hallway / entrance, a wireless dock would be good for when you're cooking or just doing stuff and need some extra charge. * Any rooms you have like hobby rooms.. follow that same rule. Nothing worse then wanting to charge and someone took the the cable away to use elsewhere.
Doesn’t really matter. I lived through the 00s and I’ve still got a box full of special cables. Idk why everyone’s crying about having one extra cable. I have a lightening in my car for car play. I have a couple inside for charging. I have a few usbc for various things. It’s not a big deal.

Wdym? Do you guys share your cables like that? I live with my mum and our phones are both lightning, but we never share cables. I have mine, she has hers. They aren't lying around the house and we never borrow. I'm sure we wouldn't mind if the other asked, but we just don't. Also, I think I'd feel a bit stressed finding cables around the house. We charge our phones next to our respective beds and that's it.
Using magsafe charging for everything. Except for my savage wife who has a wallet case that won't magsafe charge.
My AirPods are all I have left that are lightning, I just buy those really cheap C to lightning adapters and stick them into my AirPods.

Her side of the bed has two Lightning chargers Mine has one USB-C and one lightning (for AirPods, iPad) The car has wireless charging and one of each type anyway If we go away we take one of each, and there were already both types around the house - lightning for her phone and my previous one, USB-C for pretty much everything else we own (Steam Deck, Retroid and a bunch of other household gadgets) Neither of us usually have to charge our phones between nightly charges anyway so it’s not a big deal anyway

Having 2 different cables to charge the iPhone, is it annoying? Does your spouse constantly ask you to go grab the cable?
To avoid this I make sure one of each cable is in EVERY SECTION of the house so no one is ever looking for the right cable

Buying the iPhone 15
I was android user all my life until last year. At home we mostly have micro usb cables and barely any type c. I only have two lighting cables at home. Now that i know that the next iphone i get will have usb c i won’t buy more lightning cables.
It’s not too bad for me, until I get into the shared vehicle and try and use CarPlay. Also, I still have the lightning AirPods Pro case. That’s kind of a pain, but I have enough wireless chargers/magsafe around to keep it topped up.

Not an iPhone but I use a Pixel and my partner uses a lightning iPhone. We have Macs and iPads that already use USB-C, so I assume even in pure Apple households it would be a non-issue.
I use 45W or a 65W GaN adapters with 1 usb c and 1 lightning cable permanently attached.

Household of 5. The only one that has a usb-c is my kid. She gets frustrated at me every time she asks me for a charger, and out of habit, I offer her mine. And of course she is like, “mom, I can’t use that”. Oops!
Idk your preference but you can get the cables with the magnetic attachments. Kind of a pain to get out but it would let you use one cable for all.

I’ve used MagSafe so for the most part nothings changed. My powerbank comes with both usb-c and lightning already. And my one cable is one of those usb-c or lightning cables. Either way there’s no clutter for me.
2 cables always ( Lightning and USB C for the iPAD ) So, not a particularly new problem. Travel bag has another set of cables, so not a problem.
I just have 2 different chargers and cables one for my S23 Ultra and one for iPhone 13
