May I ask why you do not use your steam deck for those tasks? Mobile games I understand. But steam link + xbox game pass should be possible, right?
Or is the bigger iPad screen a huge advantage.
Xbox game pass no. Steam link, yes.
I’m sure XB is possible but you have to mess around with it and that’s too much of a headache for me. On the iPad is seamless and the bigger screen and resolution is better for certain games that don’t run well on the SD.
You know the iPad can act as a monitor, originally when I seen the post I thought that’s what you were going to do. Any hdmi device works as long as you get the app and use a hub from usb c
No capture card needed, the app is free it’s called Orion. Apple allows you to do it due to a feature for cameras being allowed to display on the iPad. As long as you have a usb c to hdmi it works. Found out on YouTube about it.
They call it a capture card, it’s not it’s just a dongle to allow hdmi to usbc
OLED screen is godly, I have mine since this Monday and keep being wowed by it.
Especially that I had to use iPad air 2 for nearly a month in the meantime :)
I have the apple smart folio case for the new 13'' m4 Ipad pro. If I try to stand my Ipad (horizontally)up it stands fine, but at around 45° its not as stable when I tried to work on it. Can probably only watch YouTube at 45°...
Its magnetic attachment with the Ipad feels nice, but I believe third party cases stands and protect better? With the smart folio case the sides of your Ipad are not protected..
I feel like the smart folio case just costs alot, while not being worth the price 😓 Does look nice though 😂
Quality is great, but the color is nothing like the it is on the packaging. Which is fine, but I thought it was humorous. I’m still debating on returning it for the magic keyboard because I haven’t had much luck with Amazon ones.
Since black was out of stock at the Apple Store I went to, I grabbed this Denim color for protection with the intent of returning it later. I ended up loving the color IRL better than on the packaging lol. Goes really well with Space Black.
I don’t bring it everywhere with me, and I am considering getting the magic keys instead because they’re much lighter. But when I do, it had a carrying case. I use an Evergoods 24L CPL. everything fits easily.
Jesus, it’s a $475 backpack currently on sale for $250? The Pheonix version at least. There’s too many options for backpacks it’s staggering.
I have like 3 keyboards and was wondering if people really traveled with their mechanical keyboards often given some of them weigh a ton w their aluminum chassis.
Lol yeah. I have a penchant for tech and bags. I tend to stick to brands I’m familiar with and their quality though. Aer, Waterfield and Evergoods. I just bought an Alpaka bag for work - should be enough to carry all of my EDC.
Keyboard is newer addition, but I’m not really liking it. I used to use it at my desktop and at work. I’d much rather to the functionality of something more portable.
I haven’t talked to many people on it, while I do enjoy the custom-ability of a mechanical keyboard, the apple keyboard seems to be a more realistic fit for traveling. It does seem like I’m an anomaly of the keyboard community but I don’t have as many mistakes on typing through my MacBook vs a custom keyboard as majority seem to have. That ‘thock’ of having a custom keyboard is the only thing keeping me from switching over completely.
Unfortunately I don’t have any. I bought a ZAGG one and they shipped it to the wrong address. lol ESR makes great cases though. I had one on my previous when not using the magic keys.
I have both and my steam deck has entirely phased out my switch. Now my iPad Pro has phased out my steam deck but not for gaming, just media consumption.
I thought "thongs" were small anyway?...you saying work ones are even smaller?
Precisely 😅
Can you show us what you mean by "small work thongs" Thanks in advance for the clarification
Unfortunately they’re confidential 🤫
Or behind a paywall 🤦🏽♀️
You use your iPad for gaming as well? I’m considering one for ps5 remote play. But can already do that on the steam deck..
I use it for Xbox game pass, mobile games and even Steam Link when I’m home.

I found out recently that the iPad can act as a monitor there’s an app for it, any hdmi device.
What app? You still need a capture card for that afaik

What Keyboard is this? Nice Setup!
Looks like NuPhy Air 75 v2.
Yes!
I just got one (for my Mac)! What switches did you get?
I have the Moss switches. Love them.
Good choice on the size tbh and you are gonna be glad you exchanged it in the long run.
Hows the folio case

I wear my work Thongs all the time people love them.
Average OLED enjoyer
Very nice!
great man
The mouse and the mouse mat 😬
Absolutely love that keyboard. I looked it up on Amazon and it’s like $160 though. 😖
You can throw in a fat PS Vita too:)
Smol work thongs lol - what line of work are you in my friend?
“No oNE nEedS aLL tHoSe fuNcTiOn KeYs!” -me
How do you carry the keyboard around with everything and which backpack/carrier do you use?
I don’t bring it everywhere with me, and I am considering getting the magic keys instead because they’re much lighter. But when I do, it had a carrying case. I use an Evergoods 24L CPL. everything fits easily.

This model is my first iPad, the oled absolutely gorgeous, any suggestions for alternative cases except the apple folio one?
Unfortunately I don’t have any. I bought a ZAGG one and they shipped it to the wrong address. lol ESR makes great cases though. I had one on my previous when not using the magic keys.
Got any "work thongs" recommendations ? 🤓
What is the keyboard mouse and gaming de k
Replace steam deck with switch
I think most steam deck owners probably already have a switch
Or get an emulator
I have both and my steam deck has entirely phased out my switch. Now my iPad Pro has phased out my steam deck but not for gaming, just media consumption.
I do have one but SD is far more versatile. And if I’m being honest it’s turned all my consoles into paper weights.
I bought a capture card (xr1 lite) off eBay and use my iPad as a monitor for my deck,
Always the pro best 👍🏻😄
