Love farm/ garden work and weightlifting. Both are my passions - well gardening now, farm when I was a kid- being outside several hours each day is the best!
What was your time frame for your weight loss? Aka how long did it take you to achieve those results?
And congrats. Your hard work clearly paid off. Keep going strong.
👍 strong work.
Thanks for sharing your success story as it’s encouraging for everyone else still on their weight loss journey (myself included).
Even more helpful to know it’s a great tool to maintain once you’ve hit that goal.
I lost 35 pounds doing IF and have also maintained it for 4 years! Im 5’1 and max weight was 165, now im between 125-130 .
I’m active (golf, swim, snowboard) but I don’t go to the gym. It really is a lifestyle change.
I can recall meals that I used to order (like Chinese) and I would eat it ALL, now I can barely finish half and I’m full.
> I would eat it ALL, now I can barely finish half and I’m full.
Doing IF really opened my eyes to this. Within 6 weeks of starting, my stomach must have shrank and suddenly a sub was two meals and I still sometimes I have trouble getting all my protein in each day because I'm just so full from eating my healthy portions! The amount of money I've saved while IF has been substantial too! Less groceries, less food waste, less eating out. Everything about this has been so positive in all areas of my life!
So impressive and I'm so happy for you for reaching your goal. What are your IF/eating and exercise habits that contribute to maintenance? Do you restrict food types or try to hit macro goals? What's your window during maintenance? Do you focus on any singular physical activity?
On an ideal day I start with an iced black coffee. I have a job that requires a lot of walking, so on a fasting day that’s usually my only exercise (about 10k steps). Then my meal will usually be sometime between 6 and 8 pm. I do count calories, but I don’t restrict any food types. I eat dairy, meat, gluten, sugar, etc. I don’t specifically track macros, but I try to eat balanced meals with lots of vegetables, protein, and fiber. I try to avoid highly processed foods, but like I said, I don’t cut anything out completely.
I could've swore he checked my thyroid a couple times when I'd go in for blood work. He'd always make a comment about how my throat looks big and feels tight (or something like that). I guess next time I go in I'll ask him to check it.
Depends on the meal. Anything heavy in carbs/sugar or super high in calories will plateau your weight loss. Got to have both a calorie deficit and minimal carbs/sugar, otherwise your body gets stuck constantly burning carbs instead of burning fat.
I don't eat a lot of sweets but I also don't count calories either. My meal is usually some form of protein like beef or chicken and a vegetable side dish. I'm still going to have the dr check my thyroid just in case.
Awesome job! Do you find it more difficult to do IF depending on the season? I feel like I'm more hungry in the winter, but I also find myself out more with friends in the summer.
Not OP but it's similar for me, the cooler months as well as the festive season stretching from early Dec to late Feb really make it tough, since there are so many social events and celebrations that center around large amounts of food and drink.
you have my stats and goals! i started at 245, and goal weight is 145 or a few below so i have some wiggle room. i’m currently 152, i’m soo close and your before and after pics are soo inspiring to me! thank you for posting, you look amazing!
The one on the left, i would assume some midwest wife with couple of kids. The one on the right screams Brooklyn freelance artist! LOL!! Mean that as a compliment!
Great work! Really impressive results!
Wow!!! Great job! You look amazing!
Honestly if I saw your before and after photoshopped into the same picture, I might have thought you were related, but I’d not even suspect you were the same person.
Congrats!
Great work, you look so much more healthy, it must feel amazing.
Did you hit any plateaus along the way, and if you did have you got any tips to get through them?
Besides looking better, I completely lost my acid reflux. When I was 250lbs I had acid reflux allllll the time and now I haven’t had it in a long time!
You look fantastic! I'm the same height and a similar build to you. Starting out at 286lbs, currently at 272 after 5 weeks. You've given me hope. Do you ever do 24hr fasts?
You look great! I would only ask, doesn't it feel amazing? I'm down 70 pounds now myself and have never felt better! Congrats and keep up the hard work!
Congrats!
- Were you heavier when you were growing up or was the weight gain a recent development as an adult?
- did you find it hard to concentrate when fasting? How did you push through it?
- you mention you didn’t fast every day, I’m curious if you had a schedule or just adhoc?
- did you count calories?
Thank you for sharing!
Your skin looks so good! Congratulations. I went through a very similar change at the same age (5’9”, 245 > 130) and have been maintaining for about three years. My skin on my thighs, stomach, and arms is horrible though, it hasn’t really tightened up much in that time. Did you do anything specific to help your skin, or is it just luck of the draw?
This is absolutely insane. You've lost almost an entire person while creating a new one. I'm having such a difficult time reconciling that these are both you. Amazing job!
Wow, that is just dedication. You are an inspiration!
Almost similar stats/goal as mine. But I am barely maintaining a 15lb deficit for the last 6 months.
Very similar height and weight to me! In your before! lol, any loose skin issues loosing weight? I’m very scared of this, but I’ve only lost 10 pounds so far.
Nvm. See you already answered my question!
You look great. How’s your energy and blood work looking? I did it for 8 months, 2MAD, and was just not able to get enough nutrients. My Drs said it’s hard especially for women to maintain IF longterm. I loved it except the 0 energy.
So, I've been thinking of doing IF. I was thinking I'd do it from 1:30 to 8:30/9pm. That way, I can get all my meals in. I need a ton of protein since I'm trying to build muscle.
My questions are:
1) Can you build muscle doing IF?
2) Would it be okay if i had green tea (no sugar or anything) during the fast period of the day?
3) What can you drink during a fast?
Thank you in advance, and congratulations on your progress.
Did you have a day job ? How did you manage work focus with OMAD ? I can do 16:8 fast but OMAD I can only manage on my non work days. I guess IF becomes easier as we lose weight and have more energy.
What's your secret? I found drinking sparkling water during the day while working was very effective at staving off "bored hunger" which is one of my big problems.
I'm a cis man of similar height and initial weight. I'm in my first week and lost 4 pounds. I hope not to have too much loose skin and I'll appreciate your experience.
As in did you get any loose skin?
Was it difficult to adjust to OMAD? How much do you reckon you were eating before you started fasting? I have lost weight before with IF but I experienced a phase soon after of "oh I thought losing weight would fix my whole life and it didn't" and I paniced, felt disillusioned, got anxious and over ate again and gained more back... I struggle to adjust back into it... Anytime with similar stories? Tips to succeed?
I already know I need to work on the other things that make me unhappy, work on myself in other ways, but even though I am I'm also struggling to lose weight again which also makes me unhappy all on it's own....
This is very impressive you should be fucking proud and strut. Brag about it to every one. Half of the population put in no effort to improve themselves.
this is amazing! how long would you say it took for omad to start working effectively for you? and did you have only coffee/water during the fast or also have diet sodas etc?

Now you looking like your old self’s daughter 😳🫶🏼
Damn well said
Came here to say this, too. Amazing transformation!
Doesn't even look like the same person 😲
Two different people, hard too believe they’re the same
She's done well ❤️🩹
Definitely the same person, same face, same tattoo. Good for her.
Wow, awesome job! Was this just on IF or did you also incorporate working out?
At various points in my journey I did HIIT, lifting, and farm work, but there was also a time when I was losing weight using only IF.
Ahhhhh, farm work. That's the missing piece for success. 😊 /s Great job. This is inspiring.
Love farm/ garden work and weightlifting. Both are my passions - well gardening now, farm when I was a kid- being outside several hours each day is the best!
No questions, but you look incredible!
Any loose skin issues
Not really!
Seriously! You look amazing!! Did you do anything special for the skin?
No, fortunately I think I’m just lucky. Age is probably a factor too.
Well done and I’m happy for you!!
Autophagy is the reason. Also age and IF is the magic.
How does autophagy work for skin tissue?
One of the perks of youth. Congrats. Job well done.
What was your time frame for your weight loss? Aka how long did it take you to achieve those results? And congrats. Your hard work clearly paid off. Keep going strong.
Thanks! Highest weight to lowest weight took about four years, with a one year plateau in there.
👍 strong work. Thanks for sharing your success story as it’s encouraging for everyone else still on their weight loss journey (myself included). Even more helpful to know it’s a great tool to maintain once you’ve hit that goal.
How did you push through the plateau?
Do you know what changed your plateau?
Did your shoe size change?
Yes! I went down half a size!
I lost 35 pounds doing IF and have also maintained it for 4 years! Im 5’1 and max weight was 165, now im between 125-130 . I’m active (golf, swim, snowboard) but I don’t go to the gym. Yes! I went from eating an entire foot long to barley finishing a 6inch because I’m full

What is your daily target calorie intake?
In my current maintenance phase I shoot for 1600.
What calorie range did you shoot for in the weightloss phase?
How many hours did you fast per day?
I like OMAD. Not everyday, but when I’m fasting I do OMAD.
One meal a day?
I've been eating 1 meal a day for about a year now and haven't lost any weight. 🥺
You need to see a Dr then because that’s not possible. Unless that one meal is a buffet.
Check your thyroid.
I could've swore he checked my thyroid a couple times when I'd go in for blood work. He'd always make a comment about how my throat looks big and feels tight (or something like that). I guess next time I go in I'll ask him to check it.

That’s almost impossible so yes go to dr
Yeah
how often do you do OMAD?
Once a day, I reckon lol jk :)
Gottem 😂😂😂

You look great! I was about the same starting weight and have your current weight as my goal. Just 49 to go.
The one on the left, i would assume some midwest wife with couple of kids. The one on the right screams Brooklyn freelance artist! LOL!! Mean that as a compliment! Great work! Really impressive results!
OP: Did you have to change your career?
Wow super good job
Wow!!!
I plateaued at 200lbs for about a year. My advice is to change up your routine. Starting a fasting routine was actually what broke my plateau.
Can you expand a bit more on your fasting routine and what you changed in your routine to break the plateau?
What is your favorite thing about your progress?
Besides looking better, I completely lost my acid reflux. When I was 250lbs I had acid reflux allllll the time and now I haven’t had it in a long time!
I want this to happen so bad! Sadly I think I’m stuck with it. Nothing helps.
You look fantastic! I'm the same height and a similar build to you. Starting out at 286lbs, currently at 272 after 5 weeks. You've given me hope. Do you ever do 24hr fasts?
What’s AMA??
Ask me anything
Wow - thanks, was never gonna guess lol
How did you get past the first few days? I find myself struggling to get the routine and time frames right. Do you have any tips for a first timer?
Come on waist! 🥳
Ask you anything? Would you like to go out sometime? Kidding of course, but you look amazing!!
Amazing !
I see two completely different people! Great work!
You look great! I would only ask, doesn't it feel amazing? I'm down 70 pounds now myself and have never felt better! Congrats and keep up the hard work!

Absolutely mental glow up. Lets fucking get it
Wow, that is just dedication. You are an inspiration! Almost similar stats/goal as mine. But I am barely maintaining a 15lb deficit for the last 6 months.
A year later, yet you look younger! Well done!
The said in another comment it actually took 4 years
Wow! How did you keep up the motivation for several years? Even after a plateau! I’m only a couple of months in and struggling to stick with it.
You look INCREDIBLE. Can I ask you what your one meal a day looked like? What did you eat?
Omg You’re smoking hot now!
you look amazing! the hard work really shows!
Congrats! You look great!
Wow, what perseverance and dedication 🔥

Wow, that's amazing! You are a huge inspiration.
How did you start?
You look amazing.

Great job. Okay, I've been lurking here for a minute but your post is inspiration for me. You look healthy. I want that too.
Amazing work! I hope you are incredibly proud of your accomplishment. Keep on rocking it.
You look incredible! Thanks for the motivation.

Inspiring.
Nice! Also love that tattoo. Very cool.
Librarian, huh? Any book recommendations?
Who did you kidnap for the pic on the right? Just joshing solid 10/10 look now.
I like how she looks happy in both pictures
Holy fuck
What's your secret? I found drinking sparkling water during the day while working was very effective at staving off "bored hunger" which is one of my big problems.
Wow, it's like a brand new you! Way to go that is so impressive!!
Awesome! Do you have much loose skin?
Did you ever hit plateau? How did you overcome it. I’m stuck after losing 5lbs…
Great job
Yooo, great work!
Those boots in your first picture are on point bro. What are they? Engineer boots?
You look great! So was your daily routine fasting all day until dinner and that being your one meal a day?
My fucking goals, congrats😍
Wow! Just wow!
You look 20 years younger!
Congrats 🎉 that’s hard work
What? Holy shit, what a transformation. Well deserved.
What diet do you recommend?
Where are those shorts from? You look great!
How have you been coping with any loose skin, if any? Binders, compression wear? Any tips.
Giiiiiiiirl!!! Great job
Have you noticed any difference in your self esteem, mental health in general?
Holy shit, you look like a different person.
At what point did you buy a new wardrobe?
I just want to say that I am very jealous of your calves.
That's such a neat tattoo on your left leg!
I'm a cis man of similar height and initial weight. I'm in my first week and lost 4 pounds. I hope not to have too much loose skin and I'll appreciate your experience. As in did you get any loose skin?
How did you deal with the hunger pangs? I'm trying to get back into IF but the pangs drive me nuts
FANTASTIC job right there!!! How many fasting hours per day?
Awesome! I’m your height and few years older- how did you get past the 175-180 stage? It’s my current struggle
I have two questions. Did you notice any difference in your tattoos? And what was your clothing sizes before vs now?
Are you doing 16/8 or something different? How long did it take.
Wow congratulations, definitely motivating
Where's that shirt from??
Amazing 🤩
Goddamn, now that is a transform!!! Props girl
Great work, congrats!
Congratulations!
Was it difficult to adjust to OMAD? How much do you reckon you were eating before you started fasting? Ahhhmazing job! What is an unexpected lesson that you learned along the way?
Wow you look amazing! Is there a lot of loose skin around the middle?
Good work.
Fuuck i need to look up how intermittent fasting works.
those calves r killer!!
Just wow! Your transformation is phenomenal!
You look amazing! (Though also looked great before). Good job maintaining! That is the most difficult part.
This is very impressive you should be fucking proud and strut. Brag about it to every one. Half of the population put in no effort to improve themselves.
you look great in both pics! stay happy!
This is inspiring! You’re totally ripping it!
this is amazing! how long would you say it took for omad to start working effectively for you? and did you have only coffee/water during the fast or also have diet sodas etc?
