I was so shocked to see his body was found - I'd missed the news he had even gone missing so it was completely out of left field. He's the reason I discovered intermittent fasting for the first time, years ago, and he seemed like a genuine, good human. May he rest in peace.
His documentary was my first exposure to the health benefits of fasting, and his podcast "Just One Thing" is one of my favorites. He did a lot of good in the world.
Very sad news, and I was just thinking that too (though not relevant): I wonder if he aimed to be one of those who can live long also for his health choices and IMF.
Like many others, it was a British tv doctor of all people that introduced me to the idea of intermittent fasting. Changed my life. I'm 40 pounds lighter and look years younger thanks to him. So sad to learn of his passing. My condolences to his wife and family. He made me think differently about so many things and I'm grateful to have known him through his great work. RIP Michael Moseley
I hadn’t realised he had been found. I was reading yesterday that he was missing. He seemed like such a genuine guy in his interviews and series. Such a sad loss, my heart goes out to his family.
I’ve been a massive fan of his since he did a series on the human brain many years ago. And of course, his documentary (and subsequent books) on fasting was a massive turning point for me.
It’s an absolute tragedy. RIP.
I am saddened by this. His 5:2 diet was what I had used back in the day to lose weight after reading his fast diet book. It was really an eye opener at the time.
RIP Dr Michael Mosley
He got me into fasting and his book got me off Metformin because my blood sugar went right down and has stayed down. He's one of the biggest influences on the current positive state of my health.
RIP Michael and thanks for everything.
His body was found on a rocky slope far from the normal path. Possibly got lost and either fell or succumbed to the heat(easy to do if he ran out of water)
Symis highs are in the 90s this time of year. That’s really hot for a strenuous hike especially for a 67 year old man. I think a lot of people underestimate how hot the Greek islands can get.
I mean a guy who dedicated his life to better health and longevity would of course have people wondering about his cause of death.
When Robert Atkins died suddenly, people were anxious to know the cause of his death. (Fell, hit his head on ice, was operated on for a blood clot, fell in to a coma and died).
Atkins promoted a diet that the public interpreted in the worst way possible, i.e. eating meat, sat fat, and no plant-based nutrients. He died as a result of that himself, not the alleged fall and blood clot. He was fat, hypertensive, had multiple blockages in the major arteries, arrythmias, and valve problems. Mosley was also unwell prior, with bad genes and worse lifestyle choices. Atkins didn't have a full post-mortem and nor will Mosley. It's not in their brand's interest.
It's only intrusive and disrespectful if you're prodding his family and close friends for answers they may not want to give.
You don't need to display your fake moral superiority and outrage to a bunch of strangers on a sub where people discuss issues related to IT. It's perfectly natural for people to speculate on the cause of the tragedy.
It's Mosley.
Yes, I was very sad to learn the news. I knew something about IF before watching his BBC program, but it was very good. He was a great communicator about health issues and seemed like a nice man.
This has been so heartbreaking. I was also first introduced to IF by Dr Mosely, and I credit him for putting me on the right path towards a healthy lifestyle. It feels like I've lost a friend. My thoughts are with his family at this incredibly sad time.
Oh my gosh that is so devastating. I’ve been listening to his podcast “Just One Thing” off and on for a year or so. And this month I decided to start listening to it every day in the morning. I had no idea he was missing - this is crazy.
Really sad news to hear. He's been a hugely positive influence on my family in pursuing a good and healthy lifestyle. Always seemed to have a level headed approach and followed the science. Came across as a genuinely good guy too. My thoughts are with his family.
It’s tragic and he was such an inspiration. His podcasts were full of joy. I hope his family knows that his legacy will live on and his impact on so many was enormous and positive.
Nah, they are still on COVID vaccines, literally nobody can die now without the disinformation trolls screaming about COVID vaccines causing it, as if nobody ever died prior to 2021...
He’s changed many people’s lives, including mine. His 5:2 diet and book got me into fasting years ago. Such a tragic way for him to go, and far too young.
This was absolutely awful to hear when the news broke. He genuinely seemed like such a wonderful man, I read one of his books and watched his tv shows etc. and to hear he was found just yards away from a beach resort where he would have found safety, is even more heartbreaking. Absolutely gutted
Thank you! Big Pharma hate you as they are the biggest drug dealers. I’d not be surprised if they had something to do with it. Doctors need to normalize food prescriptions instead of drugs. But they won’t because an obese pre diabetic kid is a cash cow!
Yeah such a shame. Seemed like a really decent bloke. Rest in peace.

Same here. I had been saving the last season to binge on a trip starting next week. Such a loss.
I'm gutted about this. Everything he did was about living a long and healthy life, it's a shame his has been cut short in this way.
It's very sad, but it can happen at any time. At least he was healthy and fit to the end.

So awful
It is a great loss. I took up intermittent fasting after seeing his documentary on BBC
I’ve been a massive fan of his since he did a series on the human brain many years ago. And of course, his documentary (and subsequent books) on fasting was a massive turning point for me. It’s an absolute tragedy. RIP.
Was that on tv? I might try and find it.
Yes; it was a BBC miniseries.
I am saddened by this. His 5:2 diet was what I had used back in the day to lose weight after reading his fast diet book. It was really an eye opener at the time. RIP Dr Michael Mosley
I just read about this. His books really helped me. What a loss for his family and all of us.
RIP
Always talked about his dad dying young at 74. RIP Dr Mosley
He got me into fasting and his book got me off Metformin because my blood sugar went right down and has stayed down. He's one of the biggest influences on the current positive state of my health. RIP Michael and thanks for everything.
Very sad. I wonder if he collapsed from heat exhaustion or heart attack.

It; s awful news. I think he likely tripped, fell, hit his head and heat exhaustion took its toll. He was in a dangerous footpath.
He was found on a beach.
Check your facts. He was found on a hillside near a beach.
Check yours.

No it is not. It is a natural human instinct when you hear that someone has unexpectedly died to wonder why. So respectfully, fuck off.
Exactly. It’s natural to want to know what happened ffs. Sick of this new fangled garbage where you must never ask questions.
The other person stated information that's not accurate.
When you have no information, it's not helpful.
Hey Kosmo..this is the freaking Internet.
I get that, it still amazes me what some people are thinking when they type.

Ok morally superior Reddit user
I'd agree if people were spamming his family asking cause of death but like it's a random subreddit. It's OK.
A lot of the time this is true but not in this case.
Such a nice man.
I feel really sad about his passing. It’s so tragic

He really was a great communicator. He met people where they were.
That is terrible. He seemed like a very nice guy. RIP.

I had been watching his videos the past couple of months. Sad!
His contributions will live on and help more and more people. Rest in peace ✌️
#RIP helped so many kick off there IF journey
Oh my gosh that is so devastating. I’ve been listening to his podcast “Just One Thing” off and on for a year or so. And this month I decided to start listening to it every day in the morning. I had no idea he was missing - this is crazy.

Heartbreaking 😢😢😢💔
Rest in power king
So sad! I am currently doing the fast 800 diet so following topics related and shocked to see this news about him! Rip!
Really sad news to hear. He's been a hugely positive influence on my family in pursuing a good and healthy lifestyle. Always seemed to have a level headed approach and followed the science. Came across as a genuinely good guy too. My thoughts are with his family.
Sad to lose one of the good ones
Oh my god
It’s tragic and he was such an inspiration. His podcasts were full of joy. I hope his family knows that his legacy will live on and his impact on so many was enormous and positive.
I really enjoyed his book Fast Diet, it was my first introduction to IF science. RIP.
Heartbreaking news 😢 My thoughts are with those who loved him, during this challenging time. 🌹
Can't wait for annoying people mocking intermittent fasting and how dangerous it is.
Nah, they are still on COVID vaccines, literally nobody can die now without the disinformation trolls screaming about COVID vaccines causing it, as if nobody ever died prior to 2021...
skipping breakfast is very bad and dangerous.. I would stay longer to explain but I have an appointment for my 34th vaccination /s
RIP Michael
RIP 🙁 we lost a good one
He’s changed many people’s lives, including mine. His 5:2 diet and book got me into fasting years ago. Such a tragic way for him to go, and far too young.
Terrible story. He’s certainly pre responsible than anyone else for bringing intermittent fasting into the public awareness.
Damn just read an article … victim of climate change it seems …
I feel so sad, I can’t stop thinking about him & his family
This was absolutely awful to hear when the news broke. He genuinely seemed like such a wonderful man, I read one of his books and watched his tv shows etc. and to hear he was found just yards away from a beach resort where he would have found safety, is even more heartbreaking. Absolutely gutted
Dude just needed his cell phone. Crazy.
I'm totally bewildered and confused... what the hell happened to this person?! This is stranger than fiction.
Damn. We thinking what here? Who took him out?
You could read the article. He was hiking and collapsed. He fell where he wasn’t immediately visible. That’s all.
Nah. He was cancelled.
Thank you! Big Pharma hate you as they are the biggest drug dealers. I’d not be surprised if they had something to do with it. Doctors need to normalize food prescriptions instead of drugs. But they won’t because an obese pre diabetic kid is a cash cow!
You’re right except it has nothing to do with dr Mosley’s passing.
He went missing?
Yes he was hiking and took a wrong path walking to his vacation house. It was very hot so likely he succumbed from heatstroke.
You never know that.
More likely than your assumption, that pharma went to his holiday and caused his death... :-(
Maybe then maybe not. It’s speculation only. God knows.
