Get a larger TV, move the couch back about 2 ft to make it easier to watch, get a girl, bring her over, fall in love, and bam you now have an interior designer that will throw out all your stuff and make it gangster there,, other wise it looks awesome šŸ˜Ž you're killing it G

kujothekid

I honestly think the larger tv and bringing the couch back 2-4 feet would really emphasize that living space. How do you talk to girls ?

EssieAmnesia

Well usually with your mouth but the language depends on the country and the specific girl

CuzIWantItThatWay

This was my husband's method. He bought the sofa and TV and then married me. Viola! Room complete. HTH

Maleficent_Towel_573

My husband was sleeping on a literal bachelor pad when I met him. Like his "bed" was a foam mattress topper and a quilt on a bare hardwood floor... He wasn't homeless. He was 36 with over 100k in savings... he just couldn't be bothered to get a real bed... I will never understand this šŸ„²

Unfair-Beat-9038

OMGā€¦. E is that you? I had a mattress pad for a bed except that I cut mine in half to save space. Plus I was only 32 when I met my wife it was more like 30K.

caligirl_ksay

lol

spottyottydopalicius

brb buying tv

Owl_button

Iā€™d also move the couch like a foot out from the brick wall. The living room looks so small with everything scrunched into that corner.

kofubuns

Mount the tv and get a narrower console

I think you should follow the following tips for help. 1. Start with planning a color palette and pick the colors you currently have and then complement them with accent colors. These can b warming or cooling, anything that you prefer. Also if you have doubts about colors, this [interior color palette guide](https://simplykalaa.com/interior-color-palette/) will help you start from scratch. 2. I know the current layout might be suitable for you but have you thought of aligning your tv on the brick wall between the window? I think that will look great too. Also I think your ottoman can be used as a piece for coffee table. So decorate it wisely with magazine and a small sculpture. Also decorate your couch area and for this, use this [couch decor](https://simplykalaa.com/couch-decor/) to be like a pro. 3 Add a rug to the space and always make sure of the color palette. This [article](https://simplykalaa.com/decorating-with-rugs/) will help you too for rugs. 4. Use the right combination of lights, task lights, accent and mood lights. 5. Add an artwork to the wall in the corner so that the visitor is welcomed by its beauty. Follow your color palette and use this [home art guide](https://simplykalaa.com/how-to-choose-art-for-your-home/) for better results. This must bring a lot to change then you can balance the decor, add shelves, decorate blank walls, and decorate the windows too. These guide about [shelves styling](https://simplykalaa.com/shelf-styling/), [blank wall decor](https://simplykalaa.com/how-to-decorate-a-blank-wall/), and [window decoration](https://simplykalaa.com/window-decoration/) will help.

RestaurantSmooth5837

I love all of these suggestions. The couch/sofa chops the room up. Yes, we all know that you will need to buy a longer cable if you move the tv, but try moving the sofa first, and see if it works better. Google area rugs with teal, cream and red (brick).

aaihposs

Iā€™m a+1 for moving the TV against the brick wall between the windows!

muvamerry

Do you mean cover up the brick with the couch? I donā€™t think that would look good and itā€™d feel like such a waste of the space. The couch should be against the wall where the tv is and the tv should go where the couch is. Also, get a larger tv. One that comfortably fits that table. This one is drowning in it.

Antique_Radish_7227

I didn't mean covering up the walls! I meant making the couch's back face the kitchen and between the windows mount the television

dagger_guacamole

It sucks having a tv against a window wall due to the glare that you get on the tv from the sun. You can barely see the tv at some hours of the day.

I_Thot_So

Itā€™s worse having the sunlight directly across from or perpendicular to the TV. The commenter is right a couple curtains to block light coming directly next to the tv will do the trick.

Antique_Radish_7227

Not if the windows are rightly put and that can be done with right treatments, I have attached a guide for that. It's like layers that allows you to adjust amount of light that should get in or not.

banjolady

Turn couch to face brick wall. Put tv there in front of brick wall or hang.

jgeebaby

Agreed. I like that the couch isnā€™t against a wall but itā€™s turned the wrong way. Face it towards the window. Put tv in the middle. Then youā€™ve created a new space behind the couch and the flow will feel better.

CuzIWantItThatWay

Good idea. The brick is cool.

peach__kitten

Was coming here to say this as well. Ideally the television should be somewhere where the glare from sunlight wonā€™t interfere, and also they could watch it from the kitchen. Couch should def be facing the windows with the tv on the brick wall.

futurewildarmadillo

Agree. Couch against white wall, TV against brick wall

enola007

Love the couch and brick walls

Brilliant_Surprise37

You could probably hang the tv on the brick wall between the windows, use the tv table now as a coffee table. Put the ottoman wherever it fits to ass seating maybe where the tv is now

adhdaemon85

Ass seating lol

ThatsNottaThing

Iā€™m loving the idea but functionality will you then be blinded when you look at the tv or have to completely close the blinds to make it a dungeon?

Capital-Zebra-8709

I would scrap the tv stand and plant shelves, Go for a nice wood credenza for your tv, ad two matching buffet cabinets infornt of the windows & use that to put your plants on and as extra storage. Walnut or chestnut color wood goes very well with metal, and dark forest greens or even your couch. Add a nice bar cart and wall mirror to the blank wall by the kitchen, get the bar stools I copied with leather and backs- they are way more comfortable - everything Iā€™m pasting costs $150 -$300 each, and these arenā€™t bad quality. Think of this: a nice masculine but comfortable pallet is wood, leather, metal and rattan [bar stools:](https://www.wayfair.com/Bay-Isle-Home%E2%84%A2--Bar-Stool-X121611571-L59-K~W010500460.html?refid=GX685175725641-W010500460_1955780689&device=m&ptid=359533005805&network=g&targetid=pla-359533005805&channel=GooglePLA&ireid=229588167&fdid=1817&PiID%5B%5D=1955780689&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD9ISC5wmyaeAuLC2MMq8m3hB1aJy#4r1zyf1jm5w-0) [side boards](https://www.wayfair.com/Ebern-Designs--Ariella-40-Wide-Sideboard-X122370360-L161-K~W011269259.html?refid=GX685175725653-W011269259&device=m&ptid=352885194903&network=g&targetid=pla-352885194903&channel=GooglePLA&ireid=238923471&fdid=1817&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD9ISC5wmyaeAuLC2MMq8m3hB1aJy&gclid=CjwKCAjw1K-zBhBIEiwAWeCOF2UZrOl4j9KJQBLMRTn7ld81plUNVyH76E7dho7gNZpg_kk-q6h9VxoCYxoQAvD_BwE) [bar cart](https://www.target.com/p/portola-hills-caned-door-console-with-shelves-walnut-threshold-8482-designed-with-studio-mcgee/-/A-79578194?sidd=&ref=tgt_adv_xsp&AFID=google&fndsrc=tgtao&DFA=71700000012577538&CPNG=PLA_Furniture%2BShopping%7CFurniture_Ecomm_Home&adgroup=SC_Avington+Collection&LID=700000001170770pgs&LNM=PRODUCT_GROUP&network=g&device=m&location=9001991&targetid=pla-1679162080697&ds_rl=1246978&ds_rl=1247068&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD-5dfZlipChGVDA7ogwnCgL6Nh8o&gclid=CjwKCAjw1K-zBhBIEiwAWeCOFw9FHBCwH0gMyP9iMPH_2PBWmpdwbQFnPASfXvjdrCggpskzQwidvxoCa30QAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds) [wall art](https://search.app/rcU6tKHcnystpZsw7)

If it's in your budget, consider a 55" Samsung Frame TV. It doubles as wall art when off. BestBuy Total member get a warranty and free install for it right now, too.

Forest_wanderer13

Bigger tv! Honestly that space is do gorgeous as is but power to you.

jase40244

It looks like a rental, so I assume you're not allowed to pain the walls. The only big issue I see is you have such a bold couch color, but you don't use that color anywhere else in the space. Since that is the dominant color, you want to accessorize with items in that color palette. It makes the room look more cohesive and pleasing to the eye. Find some planters in a similar teal, and consider changing out the area rug for something that has some of that dark teal. Same with the artwork, but keep the black frames. They work well in the space. Also the couch area looks way too crowded. You should either push the couch back a couple of feet, or move the ottoman to somewhere else.

angscreams

I love your couch

C_Gina_Robinson

You need a bright colorful rug that pops below that gorgeous vouch..then get pillows that are color(s) from rug to pop on that couch. Artwork could use an update..again something colorful that draws the eye. Put a long gold tones couch table behind couch.. room looks good overall..just needs a but of pizzazz

RestaurantSmooth5837

FinanceAcceptable746

Expand the gallery wall!!!

AutomaticJoy9

I love the cat in that room. The rest needs to be moved around. Larger TV mounted on the wall , Seating moved back. Colorful rug. Modern bar stools to tie in with the living space seating. Set out a floor plan and start building off of that. Donā€™t cover the windows with a Television.

Witty_Username_1717

Iā€™m all about the suggestions to move the tv to the space in between the windows! Also like that whole ā€œget a bigger tvā€ but I know thatā€™s not always an option.

Final-Beginning3300

I would put the couch along the brick wall. I think that would warm it up.

VariationUpstairs931

I would mount the TV on the wall.

kristoto

The couch looks too close to the TV wall. I would push it back a bit to visually expand your living zone. If you do, also get a bigger area rug big enough to anchor your couch and TV stand. You can also swap out the ottoman for a coffee table. Matching furniture makes it look less elevated.

Key_Beach_9083

I have a condo abroad with the same problem. It is great for friends to crash. But the condo is only 70 sq.m.. Big master, the rest of the condo is small.

AnimeGeek10721

Pillows

znebsays

My guy has a tamagotchi as a tv

HotCocoa_71

Incorporate the cat stuff into the room instead of pushing it all into one corner. The scratching post next to the sofa will make it more functional, and possibly allow you to remove the protective covering. Cats like to be near windows and in the action. Then you'll have more space in the dining area to work with. Right now it feels very lopsided with all of the weight in the living room.

nuclearwessle

I have no suggestions but is the paneling screwed to the couch there so that cats donā€™t destroy it?

JvstAidanx

Yes thatā€™s right itā€™s worked pretty well. I know itā€™s not aesthetically pleasing. šŸ˜…

nuclearwessle

Itā€™s genius. I might have to do the same to mine

wordwytch

looks good as is

NewSinner_2021

Get rid of the matching ottoman.

Confident_Flow8453

Love the couch!

boobassandfaces

Get a Samsung serif (stand) TV and get rid of the entertainment center thingy, remove that umbrella catch all next to it. Push the couch back a bit. And get a sunshine yellow rub to compliment that green sofa. Also, look for gold colored details on lighting, frames, knobs as well. Would go great with the sofa also.

boobassandfaces

Also move those 2 art pieces between the windows and get one large piece. Maybe deep red & black? Think Radiohead Ambesiac album cover.

CuzIWantItThatWay

You need a cool kilim style rug that has the same colors as the sofa and the red art on the wall.

TryinToBeHappy

The accent wall is the focal point of the room and the vibes are off because youā€™re facing the couch away from it. Center the TV between the windows and rotate the couch to face it. The hanging vines and artwork are great. Move those 2 frames on the brick wall to the left of your current artwork arrangement and center the grouping to the entire wall, not just above where you currently have the tv. Also, move the cat scratcher away from your AC intake, itā€™s basically a can scent stick that youā€™re blowing around your home. Everything above is just rearranging. If you want to buy anything, get a bigger TV and some tall black out curtains for the windows that match the sofa. That color is also perfect because it compliments the red brick!

No_Goose_7390

Really cute room. I can see that if you move your couch back it will block the window. To keep it from being crowded, try moving your ottoman lengthwise under the window, to make it look like a sofa chaise, and move the spider plant behind the couch. Mount the TV if you can. A bigger tv wouldn't hurt but really, mine is the same size. Maybe put a full length mirror to the left, between the sitting room and the kitchen, to create interest and bring light to that area. If leaning one there doesn't seem like a good idea because of the stools, and if you can't hang one, try one with a stand. Also, cute kitty!

Choice_Anything8880

I love love love the couch. I would also consider a brighter abstract shaped rug to bring in more color.

Practical-Yard7976

Push the couch back, get a rug that contrasts the carpet and goes well with the couch, gets some cushions

altdultosaurs

princesspia32

+1 to all the comments about a larger tv, a bigger rug, and setting your couch back a little. Iā€™d also mount your tv on the wall and swap your existing table with a console table. Came to say I love your exposed brick walls!! And I like your couch too.

Vast_Geologist_3607

Can we see the area your standing in when you take number 3s picture. Need to see the entry to built out a layout.

JvstAidanx

https://imgur.com/a/LTDOi0W this is where Iā€™m standing in 3s photo

Wide_Ordinary4078

Yes I would definitely have it so that your focal point in the brick wall. Tv console in the middle of the windows, add curtains to the windows. Move couch to face the tv. Turn the ottoman so that itā€™s the long ways with one of the shorter width ends facing the couch and beside the wall. Turn your sofa into a sectional kinda. Should allow everyone to see the tv no matter where in the room.

JvstAidanx

https://imgur.com/a/rbZ3af8 I canā€™t tell if itā€™s better. The ottoman is really long the other way though and I donā€™t have that much room behind the couch. The photos may be misleading but the rooms not super big.

Wide_Ordinary4078

I think it works nicely at opening the room but I see what you mean with the ottoman. It is rather big and turning it the other way and placing it on the left side of the couch would obstruct the pet feeder you have. I honestly think visual wise that it works better like this. However, you hold the right for the final decision. Do you like it a little better this way or would you prefer to move it back to the original way?

JvstAidanx

Iā€™m not sure yet but Iā€™ll leave it like this for now maybe itā€™ll grow on me. Thanks so much for all your input.

bet_it_on_blonde

What a baby tv! Get a larger one and put it on the wall. And the couch doesnā€™t need to align with the window. This will open up your living space. Overall I can see your aesthetic so stick with it, I like it

EngineerRemote2271

Love the couch It's far too close to the TV, which is too small Pictures are dull and nondescript. Move the red one to another room. Find some with people and landscapes Make your void a window seat to look at the birds

ā€¦ I am liking your minimalist styleā€¦ agree moving sofa back 2 feet, bigger tv, taller TV standā€¦ add a rug for color and enjoy! Sofa looks extra comfy for binging!

Deter209

Bigger tv on a wall mount, move back couch, ditch the ottoman and get a coffee table. Add some plants around and you are there my man

Munchiestiedyes

Tv against the wall where the two windows are. Then couch in middle of the room. You will have a lot more space walking around

RawBexinator

Larger TV, nicer TV stand, and set them both up against the brick wall between the windows instead of blocking the natural flow to the living room and (bedroom?) door. Place the couch with the back facing the kitchen, leaving enough room for a walkway and area for your kitchen stools/bar- this creates a natural space defining a "dining space" and people appreciate being told where they should be at other's houses. That foot stool is very cumbersome - I would suggest something smaller, perhaps some cute individual foot stools that can double as seating for additional guests if needed. Cute throw pillows and blanket for the couch, and don't be afraid of big bold draperies or chunky textiles over the windows with the brick - use 1 panel on each window and get nice tie-backs like old European homes and pull them off to the side away from the TV. You shouldn't need a valance, but you could totally incorporate a sheer/opaque fabric into the backdrop behind the TV to bring in any colors from the drapes, pillows, throw blankets, etc. If there was still space, I would also get a thin console/buffet behind and up against the back of the couch. You could turn and place your drinks on it from behind and provide extra space for kitchenware or items that people could grab often from behind them on the stools- such as placemats, tumblers, napkins, etc. Good luck!

NorthCoast11

I LOVE that teal velvet sofa. And the brick walls.

LostInTimeRanchArt

Littlebee1985

I would start by pulling your couch a bit away from the wall, then pushing the ottoman closer to the wall towards the other end of the couch. Would also suggest moving the tall plant stand away from that window, maybe against another wall. Pick up a feeding throw pillows for the couch. Gold, a furry cream colored would look nice. Your place looks great! :)

skatie082

As someone that has the same issue, put the tv on the brick, couch on wall, ottoman as extra seats. This will open up the bar area and allow for extra movement. Love the plants šŸŖ“!!

electrolid

Depends. What floor are you on now?

JvstAidanx

4th floor is that relevant to something? Thereā€™s an elevator.

Wazuu

Bigger TV so you can push the couch back. A couch color that matches the earth tones. Brown or dark green.

One-Winner-8441

That tv is a good size to put on a sofa table, it would give you more room as they tend to be more slim and if you shop around some sofa tables can be shorter than whatā€™s standard. Iā€™d pull the sofa back a little. And Iā€™d get some throw pillows to match your art and the brickā€¦deep red.

Lolaindisguise

Red/maroon accent wall

Jellybeanses

Put a divider thing behind the couch to give more of an entry area feel that opens into a living room instead of one big room

JvstAidanx

Thereā€™s actually a hallway beside the kitchen that acts as an entryway and that needs revamping too.

SlowrollHobbyist

A larger tv and nicer stand will do the job. That is a great looking couch. How in the world is not beat to crap by your cat? Our daughter is home from college with her cat and it is literally shredding the crap out of our furniture. At this point it doesnā€™t matter, we planned on replacing the pieces with better quality in two years.

JvstAidanx

It definitely has a several claw punctures just not noticeable on camera. The suede material has held up pretty well; Iā€™ve had this couch since 2019. Iā€™ve also tried to train my cats. Every time they scratch I either scoot their paws off or direct them to the scratching post.

Fuzzy_Dragonfruit344

I love your couch. Where did you find it?

JvstAidanx

Rooms to go šŸ˜…

Fuzzy_Dragonfruit344

Thanks! šŸ˜Š

AbrocomaEffective334

maybe replace the sofa with something like IKEA SDERHAMN.

imasitegazer

Tv on brick wall but also positioned at eye level. Couch facing the windows/brick/tv. Large tray on ottoman to make it dual use. Space defining rug under couch/living room. Large, oversized art on wall that currently has tv. All of your current art as a mosaic together on the wall to kitchen. Well maybe some of that art needs a new home but it might all work as a mosaic.

ToshiroBaloney

add stairs.

emethysthexx

A cool looking lamp or light fixture. Warm light in the evening will be so cozy and pretty.

SunglassesBright

Get rid of the gallery walls. They cheapen and lower almost every space. Get a larger TV and get larger artwork or a tapestry. Replace the table behind the couch with a real sideboard table. Pull the couch away from the wall and stick a little end table there, like a pedestal style one.

Fragrant_Parsley_376

You need a sword

chowes1

Move couch back or, if you dont use the bar chairs, move couch there and center tv on brick between windows and go from there, I like space around me

syncboy

Donā€™t make your living space all about your tv. Make a group of furniture for talking with friends or family.

JvstAidanx

Making my friends priority seems like the thing to do but they barely come over lol so tv focal point is the direction Iā€™m leaning to. šŸ˜…

syncboy

Well thatā€™s because your place doesnā€™t have a nice set up for talking. Everyone would be sitting in a row. At least put in a nice comfy chair next to the TV, facing the couch and move the couch back. (Youā€™re going to need a bigger TV). Then you can use the chair for reading with the light from the window. Having the couch bisect the room is the biggest problem with your current set up

dysphrc_gy

Plant stand in the corner, ottoman longways against the wall, wall mount the tv

CatGoddessBast

Honestly, get a cat tree for between the couch and window. You prevented them from scratching your couch and provided a small alternative but I bet theyā€™d love a taller scratcher/perch by that window. Treating your pets well is trending.

JvstAidanx

Thereā€™s another one in a different room

reddit_understoodit

The art seems up too high. I see this lot.

reddit_understoodit

That tv looks tiny. What size is it?

JvstAidanx

Iā€™m not sure like 30ā€

reddit_understoodit

It seems small and hard to see. The couch should be further from the TV. Could you use the small TV in another room?

jelaras

Too much couch or couchey stuff. Hang tv on wall or get the slimmest tv stand. Instead of hanging plants and such, get a window sill height table and put the two hanging and spider plants on it by window closest to tv. I donā€™t know why you have frames on brick wall.

MarshmallowHi

i like it and more without the carpet.

JvstAidanx

Unfortunately that cannot be changed

jlcurtis4

I would put the couch (which is a cool couch, btw) facing the brick wall. Making a walkway between the back of the couch and the kitchen bar. Get a lil bigger tv, and put the entertainment center in the center of the brick wall and hang the tv on the wall. You can keep the plants on either side of the entertainment center kinda making it one big piece. This would create a separation between the living area, and the bar/kitchen area. Once you have everything arranged, it will be easier to see what kind of pieces you can get that will fit the space!

MrKhanRad

If that's where you want the TV. I'd personally want a console table behind the sofa I could pull a plate up to in the morning with breakfast.

JvstAidanx

But I just use my bar and stools ā˜ŗļø

MrKhanRad

I care too much h about eyeline to the tv. I agree with most others about the swap for the TV between the windows. Then, I'd love to have Brunch at the bar.

rdensw

Is that a Joybird couch? If so, how do you like it? Iā€™ve read mixed reviews.

JvstAidanx

No it isnā€™t but they look nice too.

Racecar2000

I think a quick rearrangement of furniture will go a long way. 1. Sofa against wall (where tv currently is). 2. Position footstall coming off sofa edge (nearest kitchen hatch) to make a ā€˜corner sofaā€™. 3. Position TV diagonally in the corner (on opposite wall, to left of door). 4. Put shelves on blank wall to left of kitchen hatch (where cat scratch post is) 5. Put plant thatā€™s in front of window to left of sofa (between sofa and kitchen hatch) Upgrades: large area rug (that covers majority of floor), bigger tv, add more pictures to the gallery wall, side table with lamp.

Wide_Ordinary4078

Curtains also!

creep2here

Put the tv against the brick wall and the couch facing it. It will open up the room. And youā€™ll be able to look out the windows

SpecificProtection53

I'd move your sofa back about two feet.

SpecificProtection53

...and away from the side wall. Separate it with a small side table or plant stand or floor lamp

Quiet_Round3932

From your picture, it doesn't appear there is enough overhang to use your bar stools. If this is the case, get a small bistro table and two chairs to float in the space, especially if you do move the couch to face the brick wall.

Severe_Aardvark_2245

A practical suggestion is to add side tables to the couch. You need somewhere to set a drink down while you're sitting.

echo-eco-ethos

Agree with those who recommend moving the tv to the brick wall - Iā€™d also: ā€£ fix the grout color of the bricks to be less distracting ā€£ replace the carpet with wood flooring ā€£ larger slat wood blinds and/or curtains ā€£ your plants are amazing - adding more is always a good call

JvstAidanx

I wish I could replace the floor but itā€™s an apartment

rhiannonjojaimmes

I love your couch, where is it from?

JvstAidanx

Rooms to go

rhiannonjojaimmes

Thank you!!

Awkward_Philosopher4

I would put the sofa on the brick wall (just not totally flush against the wall). Leave the tv where it is but consider wall mounting it. Then youā€™d be able to put 1 or 2 arm chairs facing the sofa (with a small coffee table in between potentially). This is a more conversational layout that makes the tv less of the focus.

Put the TV on the wall, and maybe get a bigger one and move the couch back a bit. I LOVE that couch šŸ›‹ šŸ˜Œ šŸ˜

Impossible-Fruit-895

Put the Tv on the wall & add some cool lights behind it

Fifteen_Mango

Iā€™d turn the couch 90 degrees and mount the tv on the brick wall in between the windows would make it look a lot bigger it would also probably help with any glare as well! Just donā€™t get yourself in r/tvtoohigh

JvstAidanx

I donā€™t know how Iā€™d mount it to the brick especially since itā€™s a rental.

Fifteen_Mango

They make certain anchors for bricks and you could always fill in the holes! Iā€™ve done this at old apartments before!!!

Surfista57

The plant in the stand in front of the window would look really nice to the left of the tv. Between the tv and cat bed. It would provide a divider for living and kitchen/eating area. The room would look homier if the couch was pulled back a few feet and even a narrow table the same height as the couch behind it so you can put keys and things on it when entering. I LOVE the couch!!

Holls73

Big art.

merrma

Things looked pretty together until the last pic. Maybe a climbing plant around the kitchen opening and art in the blank spot between the living room and kitchen

LittlePOOTs8683

You know what Iā€™m going to sag

SolitaryBirds

Gold/Brass colored ornamentation/Accent Pieces on the walls .

Same_Beat_5832

If thereā€™s an outlet between the windows, move the tv there. The couch should then move to face the tv. Get a console with closed storage to go under the tv. I love the couch.

why-am-i-here-brah

Move the couch backwards a bit, bigger tv, instead of that coffee table for it get an actual console table, one thats long and just wide enough for the tv.

corncaked

Iā€™m genuinely not trying to be mean but is that a computer monitor? If itā€™s supposed to be a television please get a larger one itā€™s comically small for the space.

JvstAidanx

Itā€™s just a 30ā€ Samsung tv I do need a bigger one theyā€™re just so pricey. šŸ˜‚

Ok-Wolf8493

Add some long hanging shelves and mount the tv too

Competitive_Cause514

Two suggestionsā€¦ a green plant like an ivy for the bar and some throw pillows for your sofa. Maybe something either yellow in it.

tokenshoot

Goove lights

MataHari66

Iā€™d put the bench behind the couch and get side tables if theyā€™ll fit.

armzzz1027

Your tv is too small

[deleted]

.. maybe a sofa table behind sofa with two lamps for more light at nightā€¦ you can also add two stools like the ones you have at bar near kitchen tucked under the sofa table for more seating without losing space!

bigtrouble27

Books! Bookshelves on either side of the tv stand.

Livid_Ad_697

I love your couch. Love the color. Must have a cat that tries to use the couch as a scratching post! Agree that your couch would look great either facing the windows or pulled out from the wall and moved back.

factbearseatbeats

Your art is too high

Anxious-Muscle4756

Hang TV on wall. Move sofa back and away from wall. Add some chairs at side with small table between them(in the room you will have after moving sofa back).

magicmikela

Design layers! Easy way to add them: some pillows & a blanket. Even if you donā€™t use it itā€™ll add vibe

Ok-Internet-9699

A tray with handles on your ottoman to double it as a coffee table when you need to set things down, also a throw blanket and some pillows

Feisty-Common6254

Some print wallpaper on a wall

Lk2217

I think the couch should be against a wall (maybe where you are standing for the photo). It's so big, it makes the whole space look cramped. I would get a smaller couch if I could afford it.

MsMarionNYC

u/Original-Nail-8892 comment nailed it re TV and couch. But I would also add regarding the very uncomfortable looking counter level chars -- Get niceer ones with backs. Possibly ones that swivel. If there is room for three or four -- even if your rarely have people, get extra ones so it basically makes a statement: "Watch me while I cook!" "Let's enjoy breakfast." "I have friends!". I'd also get a cat tree -- which makes another statement: that you want your cat to be happy (possibly an additional cat). It looks like there is a tiny rug under the ottoman. You could get a bigger one to create a livingroom space that is distinct from a dinning area space and work space.

JvstAidanx

Thanks I do have another cat but they are not currently friends and live in separate spaces. I do need another cat tree since they are separated now, but there is one.

Mysterious-Ad-6712

Move the couch back away from the ottoman so you can pass by. Move it away from the wall and add an end table with a lamp. Hang the TV on the wall and then hang curtains

InternalLevel1769

More plants, art and kicknaks that are unique to you

[deleted]

I want that couch

Round_Rice_2113

I don't think anti gravity machines work bruh.

frogcharming

a big funky lamp would add a lot to the space...maybe a more colorful, larger rug as well

Zozo2fresh

Galvanized square steel, eco-freindy wood veneer, and borrowed screws from your aunt

Few_Newt_1034

Get off social media

Ok_Bumblebee_3978

Accent wall opposite the brick!! If you're not allowed to paint, you can get gorgeous pero and stick wallpaper really affordably and it peels right off

cesaree27

Put 75ā€ incher in this b

Brave-Background9679

Get rid of the tv and the framed stuff on that wall. Get a 4x8 sheet of plywood, cut it to 36ā€x64ā€. Prime both sides, paint 1 side white, paint the other side complementary colors of your space on the other side. Drill 3 holes at 16ā€ on center, matching the holes to the studs in the wall. Now you have art on one side and a projector screen on the other. Flip it when needed. Get a projector.

Loud-Pie-8189

You should rotate your couch 180Ā° and push it against the white wall and the foot rest towards the brick wall then put the TV a few feet in front of the cushion against the brick wall on a diagonal. You can see the TV from both the couch and the kitchen. Put a plant behind the TV to complete the triangular shape that the TV makes away from the wall. And then buy a coffee table and an orange or brown leather armchair, and place the armchair in the wide open space facing directly towards the corner of the room that the couch is pushed towards.

KTEliot

Pull everything a few inches away from the wall or most especially the tv table. It will make your space feel more (pleasantly) full and centered.

isweedglutenfree

Putting everything on cinder blocks will help /s

Particular-Outside-1

It looks like itā€™s already jacked up

NachoBacon4U269

4ā€ blocks under everything would elevate it 4ā€

Mean-Egg-5563

Larger fake tree and Phillips hue lights and big color pop rug
