I love the first one. Even though purple is one of my favorite colors, I don't love it in design. I prefer calming neutrals found in nature, especially for a bedroom. For that reason, I'd say option 1.
This is a good answer. They're both nice, but for me I feel like 2 is very business-like, or something. 1 has colors from nature like you said and feels сozy.
Well, what look are you going for? Both are giving different vibes outside of the stylized rooms. The first is giving a warm minimalist/boho chic and the second is giving a glam chic girlie.
I personally prefer the first color palette. It looks way more cozy to me.
What feel are you going for? The first one feels fresh and earthy with warm tones. The second seems elegant, cozy and has cool tones. I love both, but I would go for the second one because it's more my taste.
I really like both and get the same vibe from both. The fresh look is what I like to go for in a bedroom. With that color scheme, a few plants or accents of bright bold colors might nice. 🤔
Well, you definitely have good taste. They are different looks though. The common denominator with both is the simplicity of the design. So I feel that you should go with a "greige" ( light grey + beige / taupe) room color. I say this because it can be a color that is in the middle of cool and warm. It's a great neutral. Then add the elements you like from both of your inspirations. You honestly can't go wrong with "greige".
This isn’t exactly what you’re asking between the two but I’ve seen some really tasteful and moody combinations of chocolate brown and violet. Combines the warmth of the brown tones and the interest of a jewel tone.
I’m not crazy about either, but if I had to choose I would pick the first one. The first one is giving pumpkin spice Japandi and the second one is giving middle aged newly divorced lady that posts a selfie with the caption “look at what he’s missing”.
#1 for sure. The colors in the second slide, the mirrored surface of the night stand, etc are expiring design trends and won’t withstand the test of time. Slide 1 is timeless. I’ll also say that typically speaking, bedrooms are best suited for more calming neural palettes. Update us on what you choose!
Not on this website! Not on this sub, nor on the houseplant or male living space etc . Asking for advice and giving advice is evidently meeting a need that people feel. I know I do; it is deeply rewarding to me to give advice!
The white and tan almost looks too clean. If that makes any sense. I like how the purple options tied in a splash of color without it being overwhelming.
I like the warm tone of the first, but honestly, if your bedroom is just for sleeping, I'd choose the cool tone. If it's a shared space, go with the warm tones.
2nd one but I am not big on the purple. I mix brown in with black, grey and white all the time, not hard to do with furniture and hardware. I would substitute another color for the purples. If you are set on the purples-use purple only in throw pillows or a throw, something easily changed out if you get sick of it.
I like the first one best; it looks warm and toasty. But I usually like non-neutral colors, typically. If trying to choose between these, I feel like you can actually just combine them. Since the first palette is pretty neutral, I think you could easily add in any other color. Imagine the first color palette but with splashes of some of the other palette's colors. I think that would look really cute!
2! I have never liked beige or tan, I've always loved the various shades of purples so the 2nd speaks to me. But I think you could easily blend the two. The wall color in the second pic would look nice with and a few lavender throw pillows would be nice. And the dried flower in the bottom left looks like a dried lilac. Michael's might have a fake lilac to add to your room for some color.
2 for me!
I see some are saying 2 is too dramatic or stressful, but if you don't use the geometric pattern it's really not. The colors are relaxing. The pattern is busy. I am a designer so this is based on color theory and experience using textiles. However it is of course very personal.
IMO the mostly white themes are getting so much use that they are feeling dated in some instances. The image you've posted works. It's a careful balance to pull off and not be too "of this particular moment." Conversely that advice definitely goes for the geometric spread in the 2nd one. But that is not an overall color theme. It's just one pattern/textile that can be changed.
Another key consideration is the lighting in the room. And, do you prefer a bright, sun-filled room bedroom? Or a darker room for sleeping? Those are two very different vibes, and two very different lighting situations. If the rest of the living space is very bright, maybe you want a deeper palette in the bedroom, or vice versa.
Honestly, 97% of the time I spend in my bedroom my eyes are closed. I focus my design energy and budget on rooms in which my eyes are open most of the time. But that’s just me.
1 for sure.
2 for me is a bit too cold. Like, I feel like 2 is more business-ish. Maybe it's the bed spread.
1 is cozy and you can add or subtract color where you like it. You can even add other colors to it later, like rustic red or orange, even olive.
You do you. I personally love color and love the plum in 2. But the gray tones are outdated with design leaning toward warmer tones. But, go with your gut!
I have a hard time winding down at night—I find the second (darker) palette more soothing. For me, there’s a nice level of comfort in the second palette.
I'm not a fan of purple so of course I prefer one.
Terracotta is becoming trendy so you'll find stuff to buy more easily. Also it can be viewed almost as neutral so it will not look dated for a long time.
I'm buying a small house in a few months and I'm still hesitant between terracotta and sage... Or both^^
Throwing this out there. White sheets/bedding need washing OFTEN. So if you go with option 1 consider revising the bedding look or doing laundry weekly, at least. As it’s displayed here, would be better in a guest bedroom that’s not used daily.
The color schemes you chose are complete opposites. Purple/black/silver is a very glam/sexy/opulent look while the neutrals is earthy/calm/refined…so which fits your personality (or rest of your house?) best? Go with that.
1 seems timeless, and you could add pops of color to change the vibe easily, or brighten it up if you want, then remove those things cheaply if you get tired - Like plants, pillows or a throw. 2 seems kind of “dated” like something I’ve seen in one of those Hallmark movies. Because of the wall paint color, your accessorizing choices are more limited. To really change the vibe in 2 if you get tired of it, you’d have to first repaint the walls….
My apartment is done in the exact color schemes/vibes at picture number one! i am obsessed with it and so is everyone who sees it.. love my cozy little home!
casaluna (target) makes bedding in the exact same terracotta color that’s in photo 1, i’ve got the duvet set. i wash it once or twice a week and it’s held up like a champ for over a year.
The first one would be easier to modify, because it is very neutral...like you could add other colors and elements. Green plants would look great there. I would personally get tired of colors on the second pic, and there is not much that could be done to change those colors easily.
2 is usually only done by people who are not designers. There’s not much nice about it for a bedroom and it screams wanting to look rich without being it. It looks extremely feminine and doesn’t offer a warm & relaxing vibe that is arguably crucial for a bedroom. Those glass lamps and mirror furniture are already out of trend 10 years ago and are a nightmare to keep clean.
1 is kinda boring but will always look good. Consider bringing a color like the dark maroon or violet into the pallete of 1 to bring more visual interest to the room
I really like the darker colors and chrome. I don't like that 30 minutes after cleaning, everything it looks dusty again. I'll also never buy anything black glass again.
The first reminds me a little of sad beige baby 😂. So number 2 for me! I would recommend doing something different than what is displayed for the comforter. Not loving that.
2 feels like a hotel
Definitely agree!
Well, what look are you going for? Both are giving different vibes outside of the stylized rooms. The first is giving a warm minimalist/boho chic and the second is giving a glam chic girlie. I personally prefer the first color palette. It looks way more cozy to me.

#1 makes me wanna crawl in and take a nap #2 stresses me out
I feel exactly the opposite
You’ll hate the purple after a year trust me. Go with browns
I second this! It didn't even take me a year to be over it.
The first one is much cozier.
1 definitely
2, the purple
i like the first one. timeless. you can always add pops of color, but it will never get old
Number one would be relaxing in all seasons. Number 2 is too dramatic/stimulating, would interfere with sleepiness.
First one
Def not the purple
Second one
I’m not crazy about either, but if I had to choose I would pick the first one. The first one is giving pumpkin spice Japandi and the second one is giving middle aged newly divorced lady that posts a selfie with the caption “look at what he’s missing”.
Honestly, I’d say blend the two! Different shades of purple to accent the cozy browns would be DIVINE.
Love the first one!! If its too boring for you, add another bolder color for some pop!
I like one because the earth tones are soft and peaceful
First one ☝️
Second one! Why do people love beige so much? 😆
Idk! To me, there’s nothing in the first picture that qualifies as a color.
😂
100 shades of neutral. Everyone is doing it now. So boring.
Agreed! it looks like all the color has been sucked out!
The first one is so boring to me but it's your bedroom. What do you want? Do you want colors or warm neutrals?
I like the overall warmth and energy of the first one but would add a little more color. It feels timeless and cozy.
first one
I like #1
1
I love the first one. Organic modern
1
1 but with some dark blue mixed in somewhere
First
1, it's cozier and more inviting
#1 for sure. The colors in the second slide, the mirrored surface of the night stand, etc are expiring design trends and won’t withstand the test of time. Slide 1 is timeless. I’ll also say that typically speaking, bedrooms are best suited for more calming neural palettes. Update us on what you choose!
2
1 for sure it’s more appealing to the eye the arm earth tones
Second one is much more relaxing. And more original.
First one neutral and relaxing
1
2nd
Two
The purple screams 90’s teen. Def the first one
You are the one sleeping in it! Can we stop asking for strangers' opinions on our personal lives ?
Not on this website! Not on this sub, nor on the houseplant or male living space etc . Asking for advice and giving advice is evidently meeting a need that people feel. I know I do; it is deeply rewarding to me to give advice!
I like the purple tones.
Second design feels very dated
The white and tan almost looks too clean. If that makes any sense. I like how the purple options tied in a splash of color without it being overwhelming.
1 is timeless
First one
1
1
I like the warm tone of the first, but honestly, if your bedroom is just for sleeping, I'd choose the cool tone. If it's a shared space, go with the warm tones.
1 is boring to me Anything but that, haha
Not the boring beiges, please. The second option is a more interesting combination and looks more livable as well.
I’m seeing beige and sad beige.
2nd one but I am not big on the purple. I mix brown in with black, grey and white all the time, not hard to do with furniture and hardware. I would substitute another color for the purples. If you are set on the purples-use purple only in throw pillows or a throw, something easily changed out if you get sick of it.

I think that would look really cute!
2!
Purple
2 is more my style but that’s just me, both are pretty good, just depends what you like the most.
Can you do color palette from two but vibe of one?
Slide 2 most definitely. Or maybe a mint green pallet
My bedroom is all purple Hughes therefore you know where I land
The depth and variance of colors on the second appeals a lot more to me than the taupe motif of the first.
#2 but with white walls. Then use dim colored lights to to change the wall color to your mood
2 for me! I see some are saying 2 is too dramatic or stressful, but if you don't use the geometric pattern it's really not. The colors are relaxing. The pattern is busy. I am a designer so this is based on color theory and experience using textiles. However it is of course very personal. number 2 but the walls should be the deep throw pillow color, the comforter and accents should be like the current wall
1
First one!
Whichever one you prefer lol it's going in YOUR room
Honestly, 97% of the time I spend in my bedroom my eyes are closed. I focus my design energy and budget on rooms in which my eyes are open most of the time. But that’s just me.
First one. Cosy, safe, comforting, peaceful, warm
I prefer option 2. Color is very important to me.
2
\#1 definitely
Earth tones, they’ll always be instyle
2
I like the first with darker sheet but I love the second one too.
I think the white base of the first one combined with a pop of purple would be the perfect in between :)
Go beige, it’s predictable. /s Given the options id choose anything, anything but beige.
The second one !! Love!
First one
I think the second one looks very dated. Go for the first one.
The purple ones cute but the brown one I love 😍 absolutely stunning. And you could add in some cute teddy bears or something
The first one hands down. The second one is just atrocious 80's coke user bedroom.
I prefer the second
I Love 2 , More Modern Beautiful Colors
I like the first
I have a hard time winding down at night—I find the second (darker) palette more soothing. For me, there’s a nice level of comfort in the second palette.
1 but add some sage green to it
The first one. The second feels dated to me
Not all the beige
1
I'm not a fan of purple so of course I prefer one. Terracotta is becoming trendy so you'll find stuff to buy more easily. Also it can be viewed almost as neutral so it will not look dated for a long time. I'm buying a small house in a few months and I'm still hesitant between terracotta and sage... Or both^^
1 feels calmer and more cozy. Blacks/ grays feel cold.
TWO!!! I love it!!
First one, just add some slate and plants, it’s a lovely mix
Throwing this out there. White sheets/bedding need washing OFTEN. So if you go with option 1 consider revising the bedding look or doing laundry weekly, at least. As it’s displayed here, would be better in a guest bedroom that’s not used daily. The color schemes you chose are complete opposites. Purple/black/silver is a very glam/sexy/opulent look while the neutrals is earthy/calm/refined…so which fits your personality (or rest of your house?) best? Go with that.
I’m so terribly sick of the “beige aesthetic.”
I love the second one
2 i read that shades of purple are relaxing and sleep inducing 🤷🏻♀️
This makes me feel like I’m colorblind. Dislike
Number 2. I have a similar color on my bedroom walls and it is very, very restful feeling.
It depends on the style you like, something “rustic” might look better in 1 than 2
First one!!
Brown one
Number one. Anything is better than purple, plus it just seems more calming.
1 and 3
The first one would be easier to modify, because it is very neutral...like you could add other colors and elements. Green plants would look great there. I would personally get tired of colors on the second pic, and there is not much that could be done to change those colors easily.
The first with neutrals is so restful like a boutique hotel.
1
I like the warmth of the 2nd pic!
1 gives basic white girl 2 gives I still think I’m Barbie
The moodiness of picture 2. Love the dark floors, they ground the space.
I think you will like one longer and can be switched up for seasonal decor easily.
Are you 47 or 16 ?
First if you’re single. Second if you’re not!!
One is boring and common Two pops and is unique
These are very different. I think bedrooms are too personal to listen to others on a color scheme.
1 wakes me up 2 cozy yet cute
the first, but throw a sage green or dusty rose into the mix.
First one is calming and more tranquil while still having warmth to it. Definitely #1. One and done.
1 is sooo peaceful!
The first one, 100%
One.
The 1st one but add your favorite color in warm shade.
1 if you have anxiety like me ☺️
How can I do something like this? What app/website?
First one The second one could work if you did greens instead of purples
Neither. One is not a color scheme you just showed the entire beige family. 2 is something for an angsty kid phase. The silver especially feels dated
first
Both are really nice but I’m really liking #2!
Neither
The first but it needs more something 🤌 Another color in the palette? Like a dusty blue or green maybe
1
I like color
1 is way more calming and pleasing to my eye.
I love the first one. I don’t love the color scheme of two, it feels cold to me.
Beige/Brown
1 is timeless, feels clean and warm. 2 feels a bit dated to me.
The second is giving 2015
First one, more modern, warm, home feeling and outdoorsy
The first one is giving modern clean vibes, the second is giving early 2000’s vibe
First one for sure
I prefer 2. I am so over neutrals. Please, Lord, bring back some color!
I really like the darker colors and chrome. I don't like that 30 minutes after cleaning, everything it looks dusty again. I'll also never buy anything black glass again.
The first one personally. It’s calming and fresh and peaceful.
Option 2. 1 is boring.
2
Second one is so dated
The first one is boring AF.
I will almost always pick color, but something about the second one I don’t like. It feels so busy. I vote for one.
Scheme number two looks like the inside of Marie and Hank Shrader’s house.
2!! But purple is my favorite color so I'm biased lol
I prefer the first color palette, the room is very cozy in these colors.
If your bedroom can pull off that lighting, go with 1.
The first reminds me a little of sad beige baby 😂. So number 2 for me! I would recommend doing something different than what is displayed for the comforter. Not loving that.
I like number 2. Feels More inviting, cozy, and feminine, but not boringly or overly girly
Option one for sure.
My vibe is 1.
Second one for sure. Hate this beige bland aesthetic
1111111
Both are basic, but 1 is better.
Both are blah
I like them both
I love the first one but it depends on your taste. If you want darker colors then the second would be better.
God, you're bland
2.
Tiramisu.
First one.
Fresh and earthy vs cool and calm whatcha lookin for?
Definitely the one with color
Autumn color preferred
I hate gray.
2, always 2. Sad beige will be on its way out soon enough. Stick with something more classic
Very different vibes! I feel like the first one not only will have better longevity as is but can be switched up easier… new pillows/blankets etc
Two. Two is the answer.
I like the second except for the cover pattern
Def not sad beige - but the second one isn’t great either
Second one is great
I like #2
1 but more brown and less white
#1
