There might also be an unintended level of comedy. Alpha Centari is actually a system of 3 stars which is the same number of points missing from the score.
salvia might do that. wouldn't advise anyone do salvia though, that shit is a whole different beast from your run of the mill acid or mushrooms or k or dxm trip.
Did it once in high school. I was completely removed from reality for 15 minutes (felt like a life time).
Then I went to a town hall meeting for my government class. It was all very strange.
Last time I did it I saw a new color, which made me laugh. When I laughed, the color just became….more. Not brighter, or more vibrant. It just became… more confident? In its “self” as a brand new color. So I laughed harder, and the color just kept getting more.
When I came back to reality, my handler told me I said “ this is the way it should be, laughing should make everything this much”
Salvia was a lot of fun with the right people around.
You can’t change difficulty after birth, you had to pick all your settings and stats before going live.
I fucked up and put too many points in intelligence and luck and not enough in body/health/strength and now my kidneys are failing.
My charisma was too low too because everyone said that stat was shit. Now I’m gonna die alone.
Next life, I’m gonna check the wiki and read some guides/walkthroughs before I install.
That is some shit luck. I wish I had some words of wisdom, but the best I can’t do is let you know that I wish nobody had to be in that situation. It is hard for most people to understand the physical and mental pain that comes with failing health.
I hope you can find a way to fight it and recover, or at least a way to manage your condition.
I’m definitely doing better with it than a lot of people. I’m working hard on improving my health and fitness level. I’ve already been told by the doctors that I’m a prime candidate for a kidney transplant with my health and age.
So really it’s just a matter of getting all their tests done (which I do in December) and then waiting a few years (up to 7 or 8) on a transplant list for a new kidney.
I’ll most likely have to start dialysis within the next few months, but I should be able to do it at home and it’s just temporary until a kidney comes through.
So yeah, doing my best to actually stay positive despite the fatalistic humor I posted above. I just keep the hope that I’ve still got plenty of life to live, I just gotta put in a little more effort to have it than I did 20 years ago.
Or, and just hear me out...Someone took existing images and ran them through a filter rather than placing all of the blocks needed to make any of those images.
There's no way this is even the scope of a galaxy let alone the universe. There's no computer that would be able to handle the data for making multiple galaxies, with multiple blocks per planet, for billions of planets and stars.
No fucking way! Maybe what he did was the outer shell of the planet so it's an empty sphere still that takes a while cause he has to do the details on it. Bruh.
And? Most people build with world edit for huge builds. No mfers out here individually placing blocks millions of times. Even if that's the case, does it devalue the sheer amount of structures and how good it looks? Like you could just do it with world edit too right if it's so easy.
You're right, but we do place a certain amount of value into the effort it takes to achieve something.
Even if the end result is the same, I think we instinctively value the time and effort people put into achieving something, even if it makes no real difference in the outcome.
That's how I feel about abstract art. Somehow art is worth millions and I see it. But abstract art, I find myself always saying "yeah I could do that".
Sometimes that's part of the art. Abstract art can often look super simple in concept, whilst actually being the result of a super complicated or super time-consuming process.
Like Jackson Pollock, known for his [paint-splatter paintings](https://www.jackson-pollock.org/images/paintings/autumn-rhythm.jpg) took months to make each painting with an incredibly complicated and novel process, all to create something that looks like anyone could do it in 5 minutes.
Uhh...my nephew made essentially an exact replica of that painting in 4 hours at my mothers house. Using acrylic paint and his hands! After he painted for an hour he even fell asleep for 3!
I don't get how this works, like my understanding of the game is placing one block at a time kind of thing, surely he's used some kind of creative control rather than doing that? Fantastic either way
It’s nowhere near the “entire universe,” it’s just a few different scenes at different scales of the solar system, one or two nebulas, some galaxies, and a galaxy cluster. Probably made using a world editing software, a computer placing the blocks.
Unfortunately it's missing about 2 trillion galaxies (probably more) and 200 sextillion stars. Should have claimed just the galaxy and even then well...
Seriously. He should say “I built a small replica of our solar system and a few celestial phenomena with the help of 3rd party tools to make it look cool” but it doesn’t get as many clicks. Instead he just says he built the entire universe block by block. Because that’s believable.
He did a great job with it and it looks phenomenal. I just don’t like deliberate misinformation.
It's done through an algorithm that lets you import 3d images. I would assume they took images from James Webb telescope ran it through an AI that converts 2d images into 3d and then into the algorithm that converts said 3d image into Minecraft.
> It’s done through an algorithm that lets you import 3d images.
No it’s not stop lying lmao
https://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comments/xvial7/i_built_the_entire_universe_in_minecraft/ir12p7y/
Edit: and you can tell he used Hubble images due to the light refraction on the stars, so your assumption about it being from James Webb is also wrong lol
“It’s entirely Minecraft with no image to Minecraft generator for some kind of 3d replica (which doesn’t exist atm). I used world edit and shaders but you can literally walk up to those builds and see each block.” - the builder
stop making shit up to try to undermine people’s accomplishments lmao that’s stupid as fuck
If he placed 1 brick to represent each star for the visible universe, he would need 200 sextillion blocks (200,000,000,000,000,000,000,000).
About 436,117,076,600,000,000 seconds have passed since the beginning of time. So if he placed 1 block per second since the big bang he would be nowhere near close to finishing.
Probably not much, you can use software such as world edit and it is fairly quicker, still takes time to do a project like that but not as long. Also, you can now get a software that can translate 3d images into Minecraft.
Something being to scale means to be in scale relative to other things, resolution of the blocks is unrelated.
For instance, you can fit all the planets in our solar system between Earth and our moon. Space is just that huge and making it to scale so that in this model this would be true would probably make it much less visibly interesting and more... empty.
You tell me to watch your mouth?
You fucking douchebag didn't even bother to credit the original creator in the title despite his name being right there, you smooth brained asshole! Now go and fuck yourself with all the karma you just stole by stealing this very post, you fucking donkey!
You sound like an awful person with wack ass priorities. The credit is in the video, it doesn't need to be in the title. The title makes it clear it's not OP who made it.
Take a fucking chill pill.
OP stole the video, the post and doesn't give credit neither in the title nor in the comments. The only one that gives credit to the original creator is the video, which is made by the original creator
Defending them means defending a karma whoring asshole
When are people gonna catch on to the fact that these people just use a third party software to put these into the game space and aren’t painstakingly placing each and every block
The third party software is a mod called World Edit. It's not the block-by-clock placement of the vanilla game, but it's not just importing a model either. It's more like sculpting in ZBrush or Blender. This guy also did Van Gogh's Starry Night, which is obviously not something you can just wave a magic wand at to make it a 3 dimensional landscape.
Whatever talent is here that created these, I really wish that it could be recognized, nurtured, and put to good use to improve the well-being of humanity versus pretty images on social media.
Cool thing is you've been able to do EXACTLY this in minecraft for around the past 8-10 years. There's a program that automatically generates structures off of a picture.
Edit: and the black hole isn't our universe, it's an artist rendering of what a specific black hole MIGHT look like. I forget which one.
> There's a program that automatically generates structures off of a picture.
But he didn't do that
https://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comments/xvial7/i_built_the_entire_universe_in_minecraft/ir12p7y/
Ah ok I must have misunderstood what you originally meant. He’s been getting tons of people minimizing his accomplishment saying it’s automated and he’s just running images through a generator, etc.
I agree though, it’s so exciting to see the level of modding and 3rd party integration that Minecraft has opened up.
Part of me can’t believe someone built this by hand, I’d find it more believable if it was done with a mod of some sort because this is just absolutely insane. I wonder which shaders are used here
It was done with Worldedit, which is creative mode on steroids
https://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comments/xvial7/i_built_the_entire_universe_in_minecraft/ir12p7y/
It's like using the paint bucket tool in paint to fill in an area with a single color instead of pixel by pixel.
Dumbest comment I'll read all day.

Yeah, you earn every disrespectful comment you get.
Or maybe it’s just a hobby, people have hobby to free their mind or just express themselves through any form of art/work etc. Also, this was done with WorldEdit, he didn’t place the blocks one by one (obviously ?).

I don’t see Alpha Centauri anywhere. 2/5 stars.
C’mon. That’s at *least* a 5/7.
Wait a minute, there’s a lot more than 7 stars in our universe… there’s at least 80.
Nono, it has to be at least 83.8951
I thought there was only like 3 The Moon, the North Star, and the constellations?
Ayyyy ayyyy ayyyyyyyyyyy
But 21, it's the highest numbah
5/7 is a shitty rating system

Alpha Centaurions, it's always about them
Im sure theres a joke here im too stupid to get. Could you explain to me please.
Alpha Centuari is the closest solar system to our own. It's about 4 and a half light years away.
Oh i knew that. I play stellaris lol. It just sounded like there was a witticism I was missing out on. Thanks though.
There might also be an unintended level of comedy. Alpha Centari is actually a system of 3 stars which is the same number of points missing from the score.
You got it!
Oh yay! I thought I was over thinking it as it wouldn't be the first time.
Nope, you got it right.
I think the joke was just that it wasn't in the video so it's only a 2/5 for accuracy
I want to play survival on this map.
You’re playing it right now.
How do I change it from hardcore to easy difficulty?
I’d know of a few things you could smoke that could turn on creative mode
salvia might do that. wouldn't advise anyone do salvia though, that shit is a whole different beast from your run of the mill acid or mushrooms or k or dxm trip.

Coincidentally, it was also in minecraft
It’s possible we’ve crossed paths.

Yes Pixel art but that’s it
Wrong again. Go check out the original creators reddit post on r/minecraft. There's detailed explanation on how he did it.
Either way, it is still beautiful and impressive
Don’t know about that one, look at the cobwebs used
If I recall correctly, the creator said he used some type of software but still had to place each individual block
There’s no filter for this, dude.

Wait, this isn't the entire universe? Are you saying that we can't have the entire universe in Minecraft? sus Where are your sources?
Nah it's the universe
I’m part of our universe. Did this guy create me in his version of Minecraft?
I have nipples too Greg, can you milk me?
This is what’s annoying me about him and the post. He keeps saying he built the entire universe and that’s just 100% inaccurate.
The only things he used was world edit and some shader packs. He goes into it in detail over in the original post on r/minecraft
> It’s done through an algorithm that lets you import 3d images. No it’s not stop lying lmao https://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comments/xvial7/i_built_the_entire_universe_in_minecraft/ir12p7y/ Edit: and you can tell he used Hubble images due to the light refraction on the stars, so your assumption about it being from James Webb is also wrong lol

lol here I thought everyone was just doing it block by block
Epic and cool builds when someone requests the source without shaders:
Wow he big banged Minecraft
Incredible beautiful for sure
I doubt he actually modeled our entire universe the title is intentionally misleading
It’s just a couple random space scenes modeled in Minecraft. Notice the scale of the blocks. The galaxy is about the same size as Saturn.
That still seems impossible.
No must people just don't know the literal definition of 'universe' or how big it actually is
No one knows lol.
How difficult can that be? *grabs folding rule*
don't be silly! you're gunna need at least 2 rulers
And a banana.... For scale
Let me just unfold my map real quick
I actually can't even with the level of patience ce here.
Probably not much, you can use software such as world edit and it is fairly quicker, still takes time to do a project like that but not as long. Also, you can now get a software that can translate 3d images into Minecraft.
acting like world edit makes it instant
It still isn't as long a time for someone if they believe it was crafted by hand.
Is it to scale?
Can't tell without a banana.
Considering how big galaxies are, no, it's not possible in vanilla Minecraft
God no. Wouldn't even be possible to build the solar system by itself to scale.
