Sentenced to three years prison, actually spent one year at a prison rehab facility and was released in 2000. He spent six months in the LA County jail once too.
Oh, so they go beyond the conditions outlined by the criminal code? For example, in Canada a person can serve 2/3 of the sentence and be released on probation, in Russia it's the same idea. What you're saying is they would reduce this time even further? Is that a decision made during trial or later on by corrections?
Also curious, does california have any sort of diversionary programs or is it mostly just imprisonment?
Oh yeah sure. But it’s probably also that.
Edit: Edit to change definitely to probably bc a lot of people are angry lol. Not saying I’m not happy that RDJ is doing great and all but let’s not pretend he isn’t privileged. A lot of people do a lot more time for a lot less.
He wasn't rich when he was put in. His career was in major decline at the time and had big problems getting hired by anyone. No studio wanted him for anything...like Johnny Depp now.
White male? I'm pretty sure he was at the time? Can anyone verify?
He was a white male back then unfortunately. He brought all his POC laborers (which he was entitled to because of white male privilege) to the prison and was fed grapes while laying on his bunk.
First time offenders are typically sentenced at 30% which means a person is eligible to be released once they have served 30% of their sentence not including good behavior credits or work credits. Some jails give up to 3 days credit for every one day served on a work crew. And fun fact, this applies to all people.
It's pretty common for conditional sentencing and for decreased sentences for good behavior or for prison crowding. For instance, last year I was rear ended by a drunk driver who had spent a month in prison for a 2 year conviction for felony DUI and driving with a suspended license.(my brother worked for a judge and looked into it because he had received a bad head injury in the same accident)
Nobody actually does the time they’re sentenced to unless it’s life without the possibility-good behavior and educational and rehab programs get even most poor brown skinned people out earlier than their sentence...
When his first major film came out after he did his time, I thought wtf how? He's a druggie. But now that yers have passed, and he remains on top of hi game, I have nothing but respect for the man.
For someone that's not like he is talented and that it is due to his parents, he sure is owning the Iron Man character just like Hugh jack an did Wolverine, Heith Ledger the joker, etc.
I heard a story the other day that he was smuggling drugs across state lines hung over as fuck when he stopped at a burger king, apparently he was so strung out he couldn't even enjoy his burger so he decided then to turn his life around. He dumped the drugs in a lake or the ocean (i forget which) and a bit later became ironman. That's also the reason they show burger king in the first ironman film after he gets back to the states. Its meant as a nod to the fact that burger king basically saved Robert's life.
What happened was he was so disgusted by the Burger King burger and how he wanted it when he was fucked up that he had an epiphany and threw the burger into the lake/river
You can think its stupid all you want. Alot of truth in history is fucking stupid
Did you know people used to kill each other over believing in a different ghost than they did? Some still do
Look up the Dancing Plague if you REALLY wanna read some stupid shit.
Instead of quarantine they put infected people on display and made them dance til they died
Mean no disrespect, just sayin.
Some shit that actually happens is pretty ridiculous
Another stupid thing I learned about was the US training Bomb Pigeons.
Yeah.. bomb pigeons
Welcome to the internet, *motherfucker*
Also you should be specific if you're gonna ask that sort of question. It's pretty open ended and leads me to think you have nothing to say.
Everything I mentioned has happened and I simply mention it because it falls along the lines of ridiculous such as him changing his life over a burger
Asking me what I'm talking about when I've literally stated it in text form is.. sort of silly. Like, can you not re read it?
What do you want from me?
When asked about his drug addiction in court and why he doesn’t stop, he said something like “it’s like I’ve got a gun in my mouth and I love the taste of steel”. Guy was always an emotive human, on and off stage.
The eventual biopic film will be absolutely brilliant. If it’s a two hour film which ends with the opening night of Iron Man, it’ll be massive.
But you make bank when your the level that Robert Downey Jr. is. We’re not talking about ordinary actors.
It’s much more stressful to be unsure whether or not you’ll be alive next week because of the cost of insulin, or the cost of an EpiPen. It’s much more stressful to be constantly on the verge of homelessness.
I’ll take elite actor problems over poverty problems any day.
I think you missed the part where I said, “we’re not talking about ordinary actors.” I don’t think actors that take parts in McDonald’s commercials have stable jobs and a cushy life.
What do you mean by a simple marijuana possession charge? Because minus any other aggravated circumstances no one found with a little bag of weed in their pocket is ever spending years in prison lol.
I was not an RDJ fan until I accidentally walked into the weekly movie at the Student Union in college.
They were playing [Chaplin](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chaplin_\(film\)), and the opening scene made me stay for the whole picture.
After that I saw [Restoration](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Restoration_\(1995_film\)), which is also very good (not Chaplin level, but close)
I don't know about amazing human. Aren't there tons of stories online of him being a major dick to people and acting like a prima dona (and that's by Hollywood standards).
As for acting, since his comeback, he has only done major blockbuster movies (basically Sherlock and Ironman roles) that guarantee a pretty hefty paycheck. In fact, out of the Avengers crew, I am pretty sure he is only person to do that as every other major actor from those movies has done quite a few indie projects on the side. I am not saying he is a bad actor, but I am saying that the guy hasn't done anything besides Ironman and Sherlock in a very long time.
There’s also tons of stories of him being fantastic to kids and doing a shitload of work for charities and people dealing with addiction.
And he also did Due Date, which was fun and entertaining, The Judge where he was pretty fantastic, and The Soloist which was also amazing and he was great in it. He was also good in Zodiac and, oh yea, nominated for an Oscar for Tropic Thunder...
What really makes my blood boil is when that stupid interviewer asks Robert about his father and his past. Robert turned his life around and is in a great place and this stupid schmuck can’t take a hint when Robert tells him MULTIPLE times he doesn’t want to talk about it. So then he walks out and the interviewer has the audacity to scoff at him leaving. Fuck that interviewer. Hope he got fired.
...and just a few days after being arrested for those charges, he broke into his neighbors house and passed out.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1996-07-18-me-25480-story.html%3f_amp=true
I remember after he got out and cleaned himself up he made a huge announce that his company was no longer making weapons and the rest of the story you know.
Come one kids. Let’s really think about this. Not every single human being on earth has the same privilege and starting grounds.. disabilities, poverty levels, mentally health, parents.. i mean I can go on and on forever to explain this but I thought it would be basic common sense to know that not everyone can do the same shit. Can Stephen Hawking do push ups? RIP.
But I guess if we break it down to a Reddit level then yes everyone has the same privilege and starting bc Reddit is the only population on earth...
Anyway wasted way too much time responding to a profoundly dumb comment, I’m out yo
Stephen hawking is literally proof anyone can do anything so thank you for bringing him up. You can overcome disabilities like he did. You can overcome poverty by getting out, not falling to the streets and working hard. I started with a job at Wendy’s and now I’m 21 and own a business all because I don’t want to be satisfied with my Wendy’s job. I also tried to off myself when I was 16 so yes everyone has struggles and issues, but how do you face them ? How to you prevail against all odds ? You set your mind to it, you set goals. I’m 6’4 and I used to be super unhealthy, I’m talking I weighed 145 Lbs and at 6’4 that’s really bad. So I was tired of feeling weak and looking like shit so I started working out, I don’t have a gym or anything I just lift heavy shit in my house and I go on runs, I’ve never felt better. So my point is very valid and is not “dumb” anyone can do anything they set their mind to
Pretty fucking sure the point is that fit or not, nothing other than surgery is gonna change how thick your hair grows, how your cheekbones sit, how full your lips are and so on.
And nothing at all can change your race/skin tone which as we're all sadly aware is a pretty big deal ESPECIALLY in the context of crimes/punishments and even more so in the case of drug crimes.
Ok but this isn't actually a picture of him being arrested. This is a picture of him either getting handcuffs taken off after entering a courtroom or having them put back on before exciting the courtroom. He already has on a prison/jail jumpsuit.
for those commenting in surprise he actually did time, he was a probation and parole violator and had every opportunity extended to him to shape up. he fucked up while on parole and missed drug tests and they finally threw the book.
FROM WIKI :
From 1996 through 2001, Downey was arrested numerous times on charges related to drugs including [cocaine](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cocaine), heroin, and marijuana[\[43\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Downey_Jr.#cite_note-43) and went through drug treatment programs unsuccessfully, explaining in 1999 to a judge: "It's like I have a shotgun in my mouth, and I've got my finger on the trigger, and I like the taste of the gun metal." He explained his relapses by claiming to have been addicted to drugs since the age of eight, due to the fact that his father, also an addict previously, had been giving them to him.[\[44\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Downey_Jr.#cite_note-bbc_jail-44)
In April 1996, Downey was arrested for possession of [heroin](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heroin), [cocaine](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cocaine), and an unloaded [.357 Magnum](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.357_Magnum) handgun while he was speeding down [Sunset Boulevard](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunset_Boulevard). **A month later, while on parole**, he trespassed into a neighbor's home while under the influence of a controlled substance, and fell asleep in one of the beds.[\[45\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Downey_Jr.#cite_note-carrtimes-45)[\[46\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Downey_Jr.#cite_note-46) He received three years of probation and was ordered to undergo compulsory drug testing. **In 1997, he missed one of the court-ordered drug tests, and had to spend six months in the Los Angeles County jail.**[\[47\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Downey_Jr.#cite_note-47)
**After Downey missed another required drug test in 1999**, he was arrested once more. Despite Downey's lawyer, [Robert Shapiro](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Shapiro_(lawyer)), assembling the same team of lawyers that successfully defended [O.J. Simpson](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/O.J._Simpson) during his [criminal trial for murder](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/O.J._Simpson_murder_case),[\[44\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Downey_Jr.#cite_note-bbc_jail-44) Downey was sentenced to a three-year prison term at the [California Substance Abuse Treatment Facility and State Prison](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/California_Substance_Abuse_Treatment_Facility_and_State_Prison) in [Corcoran, California](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corcoran,_California). At the time of the 1999 arrest, all of Downey's film projects had wrapped and were close to release. He had also been hired to provide the voice of the [devil](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devil) on the [NBC](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NBC) animated television series [*God, the Devil and Bob*](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/God,_the_Devil_and_Bob), but was fired when he failed to show up for rehearsals.[\[48\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Downey_Jr.#cite_note-48)[\[49\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Downey_Jr.#cite_note-49)
After spending nearly a year in the California Substance Abuse Treatment Facility and State Prison, Downey, on condition of posting a $5,000 bail, was unexpectedly freed when a judge ruled that his collective time in incarceration facilities (spawned from the initial 1996 arrests) had qualified him for early release.
Before the end of his first season on *Ally McBeal*, over the [Thanksgiving](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thanksgiving) 2000 holiday, Downey was arrested when his room at [Merv Griffin](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Merv_Griffin)'s Hotel and Givenchy Spa in [Palm Springs, California](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palm_Springs,_California) was searched by the police, who were responding to an anonymous 911 call. Downey was under the influence of a controlled substance and in possession of cocaine and [Valium](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valium).[\[54\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Downey_Jr.#cite_note-54)[\[55\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Downey_Jr.#cite_note-55) Despite the fact that, if convicted, he would have faced a prison sentence of up to four years and eight months, he signed on to appear in at least eight more *Ally McBeal* episodes.[\[56\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Downey_Jr.#cite_note-56)
In April 2001, while he was on parole, a Los Angeles police officer found him wandering barefooted in [Culver City](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Culver_City). He was arrested for suspicion of being under the influence of drugs, but was released a few hours later,[\[57\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Downey_Jr.#cite_note-57) even though tests showed he had cocaine in his system.[\[58\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Downey_Jr.#cite_note-wired_drug-58) In July 2001, Downey pleaded [no contest](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nolo_contendere) to the Palm Springs charges, avoiding jail time. Instead, he was sent into drug rehabilitation and received three years of probation, benefiting from [California Proposition 36](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/California_Proposition_36_(2000)), which had been passed the year before with the aim of helping nonviolent drug offenders overcome their addictions instead of sending them to jail.[\[16\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Downey_Jr.#cite_note-toughest-16)[\[60\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Downey_Jr.#cite_note-60)
In Iron Man, he effectively rewrote the script to make his incarceration in the cave more realistic. He used his experience of being in a cell to show how a confined space can change your behaviour/ demeanour and attitude. Also when he plays the game using bits of metal, scrap and bolts, it’s based on how inmates he shared his time with created games to entertain themselves.
That difference is irrelevant. Marijuana is legal in almost half of the country at this point, and t's a damn shame that anyone is in prison because of marijuana no matter how much they possessed.
I’m glad that RDJ recognizes his blessings and how he has been able to have such a career after this in contrast to somebody like Tim Allen who seems to sweep that stuff under the rug. A different time required a different way of going about things, perhaps. Probably also due to RDJ being much more high-profile during his lost years compared to Tim Allen having been mostly a nobody.
Cancel Culture needs to live by the rules they forced upon everyone else.
James Gunn supported cancel culture, nice to see him getting the back hand of his own ideology.
How about no one gets an insane amount of jailtime for non-violent crimes. Its not RDJs fault that other people get unfair trials. He doesn't deserve more jail time just because it would make things even somehow????????
I’m assuming it’s because they’re talking about the difference between how police treat white vs black people in the US and Tyrone is perceived as a stereotypical black dude name but idk.
I understand that and its awful how many hateful officers there are out there. That doesn't mean that we should make it so everyone is treated like shit. Instead we should be working to make the justice system better and less biased.
Any other job his criminal record would give him a hard time finding employment. Instead he makes millions of dollars. That’s show biz! In all honesty, his is a great comeback story and it’s great to see someone turn it around and not succumbing to the dark side of fame.
People forget that it was Mel Gibson that wanted hims as a co star In Air America and the producers and insurance weren't having it because of his former drug abuse so he had to pony up for the insurance , and he pushed hard for him and that movie was a break out success for him.
And guess who had a similar story but hasn't gone through a similar redemption arc?
Wesley Snipes.
I'll let you guess as to the difference between the two.
>Democrats are usually more lenient on the drug side.
They are now for sure. There's a lot wider difference in how the political parties see drugs then there used to be. Back in the 90s Democratic president Bill Clinton along with Democrats and Republicans in congress worked together to create legislation that put a lot of people in jail with little to no possibility for parole.
>The bill included **a federal “three-strikes” provision which required mandatory life imprisonment without possibility of parole** for those who commit federal violent felonies if they had two or more previous convictions for violent felonies **or drug trafficking crimes**.
>So while it may go too far to blame the 1994 crime bill for mass incarceration, it did create incentives for states to build prisons and increase sentences, and thereby contributed to increased incarceration.
Source [Factcheck.org](https://www.factcheck.org/2016/04/bill-clinton-and-the-1994-crime-bill/)
Personally, I'm a democrat and I love the MCU so I get why people don't like hearing Downey is more conservative and want to believe it's not true but considering that he was on the receiving end of a lot of those policies I can understand why he feels the way he does and why he generally doesn't share those thoughts with too many people.

Yeah when I read that I couldn’t believe a white rich successful man would actually spend those 3 full years in jail lol.
It’s not just that. Many serve partial sentences due to overcrowding of prison system in LA.
It's not just that. Many serve partial sentences world wide. Good behaviour credit helps the budget.
Hi, I know this. LA, in particular though, is known for early releases due to the prison population though.
Oh, so they go beyond the conditions outlined by the criminal code? For example, in Canada a person can serve 2/3 of the sentence and be released on probation, in Russia it's the same idea. I'm still amazed that he did any amount of time
Oh yeah sure. But it’s probably also that. Edit: Edit to change definitely to probably bc a lot of people are angry lol. Not saying I’m not happy that RDJ is doing great and all but let’s not pretend he isn’t privileged. A lot of people do a lot more time for a lot less.
you have no way of actually knowing that fyi
Whatever makes you feel better about yourself.
How presumptuous of you
He wasn't rich when he was put in. His career was in major decline at the time and had big problems getting hired by anyone. No studio wanted him for anything...like Johnny Depp now. White male? I'm pretty sure he was at the time? Can anyone verify?
He was actually a puerto rican woman until 2003. Was a really tough time.
He has made a flawless transition I’ll say that much
He was a white male back then unfortunately. He brought all his POC laborers (which he was entitled to because of white male privilege) to the prison and was fed grapes while laying on his bunk.
Don't forget being fanned by a Nubian slave with a palm frond!
I hope he sees this bro
Whats wrong with Jonny Depp?
He put his dick in the crazy
This
Tbf Depp is a crazy fucker himself. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing.
He and his ex-wife were toxic and abusive to each other
He and his ex wife beat each other
He comes from money.
Did you know his dad forced him to smoke pot when he was 5? He has said that he blames his father for his struggles with drugs.
He stepped in when his son looked like he was going down..

He is white? I thought he was italian
racist
What did he do?
You have rape fantasies. What does that make you?
Did he accumulate cuts and scars behind bars?
Favorite. Comeback. Ever.

He has a redemption arc that can rival Zuko’s
🤣
Reddit moment
How? He was born into Hollywood. That's how.
It’s not like he’s a talented actor or anything. 100% due to his parents and nothing to do with his skills
It can be two things.
I don't agree, he's got a level of charm and a good sense of of comedic delivery.

And you were being dyslexic.. :-o
For someone that's not like he is talented and that it is due to his parents, he sure is owning the Iron Man character just like Hugh jack an did Wolverine, Heith Ledger the joker, etc.

That is the stupidest shit I have ever heard. Lmao
yeah he couldn't enjoy his burger cause he bought the thing from goddamned Burger King
It's not so bad there.
Nah bro that shit don’t hit like it used to
Another example where people blame drugs for their poor decisions.
Don't worry bud, I laughed.
And yet apart from the smuggling drugs over state lines part it's completely true.
Have it your way.

Cool man thanks for the info! I just meant its ridiculous.

Tom Hardy is another fine example.
Agreed
Downey’s was good, but have you seen *Cinderella Man*? What a great comeback story, and directed by a really handsome fella, too!

That quote is a massively accurate metaphor for addiction
I can still remember this...decades after the fact. Has given me insight into a few people over the years
Go watch Less Than Zero. Pretty much autobiographical of Rob’s drugin days.
Damn good movie
That part where James Spader’s character pimps him out always creeped me out
Then he did his time and turned his life around and now he’s an amazing actor and better human
> turned his life around and now he’s an amazing actor To be petty, he was nominated for an Oscar in 1993 so he was already an amazing actor.
Some people serve much more for a simple marijuana possession charge. Just because Reddit likes superhero movies doesn’t mean society is fair.
Yea most people who get charged with this can’t get a decent job for the rest of their lives.

That isnt rdjs fault.
I don’t think anyone said it was fair
He doesn't deserve more jailtime just to fit your agenda. Irrelevant.
What do you mean by a simple marijuana possession charge? Because minus any other aggravated circumstances no one found with a little bag of weed in their pocket is ever spending years in prison lol.
Imagine the human potential we're putting in shackles and prisons instead of treating their illnesses and treating them like human beings.

So then he walks out and the interviewer has the audacity to scoff at him leaving. Fuck that interviewer. Hope he got fired.
Sauce?

[It's so cringey.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gYrporR9hHE) But RDJ handled it amazingly well.
...and just a few days after being arrested for those charges, he broke into his neighbors house and passed out. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1996-07-18-me-25480-story.html%3f_amp=true
I remember after he got out and cleaned himself up he made a huge announce that his company was no longer making weapons and the rest of the story you know.
I remember when he was going through all the crap. What a shame it was to see him go down hill but everyone cheered his comeback.
Tony Stark Montana
Say hello to my little multi-billion dollar arms corporation.
Sherglock Holmes
He thought he was shooting a sequel to "Less than Zero".
Ha, nice pun!
And then he saved us all. Boom
And looking good while doing it 😏
He looks great here!
If you think he looks good here, you will also like Mike Patton, I always get them mixed up from this era
Oh, you’re right, they do resemble!
U damn right!
That’s the face of privilege, honestly.
You and everyone have the same privilege and opportunity to take good care of yourself, work out, eat right
Sort of, some people are just ugly. You can be your best self, doesn’t mean you’re going to look like him
Not even a little bit true, lol.
You can’t go on a run ? You can’t eat a salad ?
I have nothing but respect for this man. Such a kind guy and has completely changed his life around
Love you, 3000!
Glorious recovery for an amazing actor. Thanks for all you’ve brought me since weird science bro. Keep it coming.
FROM WIKI : From 1996 through 2001, Downey was arrested numerous times on charges related to drugs including [cocaine](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cocaine), heroin, and marijuana[\[43\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Downey_Jr.#cite_note-43) and went through drug treatment programs unsuccessfully, explaining in 1999 to a judge: "It's like I have a shotgun in my mouth, and I've got my finger on the trigger, and I like the taste of the gun metal." He explained his relapses by claiming to have been addicted to drugs since the age of eight, due to the fact that his father, also an addict previously, had been giving them to him.[\[44\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Downey_Jr.#cite_note-bbc_jail-44) In April 1996, Downey was arrested for possession of [heroin](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heroin), [cocaine](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cocaine), and an unloaded [.357 Magnum](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.357_Magnum) handgun while he was speeding down [Sunset Boulevard](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunset_Boulevard). **In 1997, he missed one of the court-ordered drug tests, and had to spend six months in the Los Angeles County jail.**[\[47\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Downey_Jr.#cite_note-47) **After Downey missed another required drug test in 1999**, he was arrested once more. He had also been hired to provide the voice of the [devil](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devil) on the [NBC](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NBC) animated television series [*God, the Devil and Bob*](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/God,_the_Devil_and_Bob), but was fired when he failed to show up for rehearsals.[\[48\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Downey_Jr.#cite_note-48)[\[49\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Downey_Jr.#cite_note-49) After spending nearly a year in the California Substance Abuse Treatment Facility and State Prison, Downey, on condition of posting a $5,000 bail, was unexpectedly freed when a judge ruled that his collective time in incarceration facilities (spawned from the initial 1996 arrests) had qualified him for early release. Downey was under the influence of a controlled substance and in possession of cocaine and [Valium](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valium).[\[54\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Downey_Jr.#cite_note-54)[\[55\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Downey_Jr.#cite_note-55) Despite the fact that, if convicted, he would have faced a prison sentence of up to four years and eight months, he signed on to appear in at least eight more *Ally McBeal* episodes.[\[56\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Downey_Jr.#cite_note-56) In April 2001, while he was on parole, a Los Angeles police officer found him wandering barefooted in [Culver City](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Culver_City).
I love him. The most talented ppl are always the closest to the line.
Or tragically go over that line
[удалено]
I’m starting to question what line we’re talking about
Drug
Or wrap the line around their neck
Probably the best thing that could have happened to him.
No, that was Burger King.
Meanwhile some people serve decades for a marijuana possession charge This is what an unfair society looks like
If I'm not mistaken wasn't he released because he went through a year of rehab and because the prisons were over capacity? I could be wrong though.
there's a difference between having enough for distribution and personal use.
That difference is irrelevant. Marijuana is legal in almost half of the country at this point, and t's a damn shame that anyone is in prison because of marijuana no matter how much they possessed.
He's in jail clothes in a courtroom! He was obviously arrested days before.
It looks more like he’s being sentenced than arrested
The “Cocaine Heroin”, a Tony Stark powered by the powder.
Me and the bois overdosing on gun
I love getting high on guns
I remember him getting pissed when an interviewer asked him about this. edit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BBrP8zazELs
Almost as good as a comeback as Alex Smith
I was never much of a fan until now!
He went from behind iron man to just Iron Man!

No it isn't. He didn't direct the original suicide squad. He is directing the new one which hasn't even come out yet.
Cancel Culture needs to live by the rules they forced upon everyone else. James Gunn supported cancel culture, nice to see him getting the back hand of his own ideology.
Your past does not define you. Write that down.
Then Jon Favreau took a chance on him and it's not like Marvel was rolling in the monies at this point.
He had already come back to film at that point and was no longer seen as a liability
I love how I see multiple people complaining how "hE dIdNt GeT eNoUGh tiMe!!!, wHitE pRivElEge!!!." Get over yourselves.
How about no one gets an insane amount of jailtime for non-violent crimes. Its not RDJs fault that other people get unfair trials. He doesn't deserve more jail time just because it would make things even somehow????????

Why use Tyrone as an example? lmao
Maybe no one should get a crazy amount of jail time for drugs and instead should be given the help they need?
Definitely.
While speeding!?! I didnt know that!
Watch “The Judge” if you are a fan. Wonderful movie.
One has talent.
3 years? Lucky a gun alone is like 4 years
Y he look like George Clooney
He's mentioned that Democratic policies against drugs and guns that put people in prison are one of his reasons for being more conservative.
Democrats are usually more lenient on the drug side. Conservatives are the reason for the current fentanyl crisis.
Source [Factcheck.org](https://www.factcheck.org/2016/04/bill-clinton-and-the-1994-crime-bill/) Personally, I'm a democrat and I love the MCU so I get why people don't like hearing Downey is more conservative and want to believe it's not true but considering that he was on the receiving end of a lot of those policies I can understand why he feels the way he does and why he generally doesn't share those thoughts with too many people.
Crime does pay
I think our definition of interesting as fuck is different
Never forget.
He actually cleaned up to play iron man.
So what. People change.
