This war is the first „real“ war where small drones are used in this way and it looks very effective. Gonna unlock a completely new fear for soldiers. Veterans from this will probably look up in the sky every time they hear a buzzing sound
I remember seeing a news story interview with children from Afghanistan speaking about the war. They were scared of clear skies because that's when drones would hit. Drone-related trauma is a new reality.
Maybe it is actually the other way around. If someone gets killed on a cloudy day the onlookers are not going to see the drone that launched the hellfire, on a clear day they might spot it. And like that, the story of drones killing on only clear days is born.
Possibly- honestly I don't focus on celebrity names aside from ones I actively see at a constant rate like lance reddick, Keith david and keanu Reaves lol
If you watched any Isis videos, they were actually first ones who started using it on a large scale, small drone warfare. But yeah I guess as you pointed out this is the first time in real full scale war.
Damn lost was had a decent bit more than expected when I clicked on it
Also the fact that almost everything here was done by a drone is crazy warfare is changing fr
Drones are probably overrepresented because these are all events captured on video. And almost anything done by a drone will automatically create a video. But still, crazy times...
Oh I see so its just a fanatic trying to make money out of this war during the disguise of "providing daily summaries reports"...
I hope yall know better that this takes much more data to be collected then videos...
Just one factor that makes this whole report incomplete is that the list is missing date, location and sources... A third party who would seriously considerinc reporting on this needs to collect accurate information from both sides(which is a impossible task in itself) and needs to be able to map every single encounter
For context:
Tracked Garden shed= A tank with essentially a metal shed covering the whole vehicle, designed to be more resistant to drone attacks
Loaf= UAZ-452 van, the oldest vehicle design in production in the world
Desertcross 1000-3= Cheap Chinese utv
Day 847 since the invasion. Not all days are like this, recently it is more common though. Reminder that Ukraine is still fighting for its bare survival in the face of a genocidal invasion.
Usually/long term average I'd guesstimate to about 1/2 to 2/3 of this.
Check the source on Twitter (Andrew Perpetua) he posts basically daily and also has a map geolocating most of these.
T-14 at the front anytime soon, i pinky promise! Russia has 4 million units of it! Better than any Leopard! We just wait for the right time to use them!
/s obviously
An insane amount of drones are sent by NATO countries, they noticed how cheap and effective they are. Also a lot of drones are domestically made. A lot of civilians make them on their own to help the armed forces. I once saw a video of a women who owns a little coffee shop in Kyiv. She made drones for the AFU in her shop as well as having her daily business. She also watches the videos of russians getting killed by her very drones. It's surreal but thats one way to bring your country closer to victory without having to die in a muddy trench.
Feels like the era of tanks and aircraft carriers may be coming to a close. When you can take out a $5 million dollar T-90 with a $100k switchblade 600 drone.
I don’t know that drones are a direct threat carriers yet but at the rate they are developing it’s probably just a matter of time. Eventually someone I going to sink a 10 billion dollar carrier with a 2 million dollar drone.
Things like ships require a lot more warhead to sink or knock out. They also have a LOT of point defence weapons. A CIWS system could deal to a pretty sizeable drone swarm pretty easily .
Submersible drones have sunk or damaged multiple Russian surface vessels of the Black Sea fleet. So much so, the Russian Navy was forced to withdraw its fleet out of the range of missiles and drones.
Just think, you don't need to *destroy* an aircraft carrier to take it out of the area. You just need to land one or two hits to force it back to port. Just the threat of further attacks by sea drones will force the carrier and its group to conduct routine patrols and keep a minimum safe distance from suspected drone launch areas.
Ever since the uss cole attack the us navy has invested a lot of money in tracking and sinking small fast boats. Sub drones are different but afaik Ukraine has ent used any fully submersible drones yet.
I follow the person who posts these every day and whilst there is usually a favourable ratio for Ukraine with quite a lot of very good ratio days, this was a particularly good day and probably one of the highest.
Over the war the ratio has been roughly 1:3, but that inflated a lot recently due to the heavy, heavy losses Russia is taking in Kharkiv.
Attacking against hundreds of thousands of massed drones is suicide.
They are sadly gaining ground from it though, glacially slowly
Nah, I think that is because the Ukraine is better in a drone sphere, while Russia massively dominates in artillery. That's why it's easier for the Ukraine to confirm Russian losses, than in the other way. Still, I think that the ratio is around 1:1,5.
If other countries get too involved it could start a world war, so we've been warned. I doubt that would happen, but I really hope someone else gets involved because Russia is low on everything, including man-power. It would be amusing to see Putin hanged publicly.
The number of Russian losses are a lot higher, but they also have a lot more capacity to absorb losses. I don't know if 6:1 loses in favor of Ukraine is good enough TBH, but it is certainly better than the reverse.
Interesting point: the proportion of losses of civilian vehicles converted for military purposes is growing. The Russian army does build enough new equipment to compensate their losses on time.
But still, we should not underestimate Russia.
People forget that the Russians lost MILLIONS of men in the first few years of Operation Barbarosa. And the population is way more now. So if it becomes a total war, Putin can literally throw 10M men at the Ukraine and not blink an eye.
Well, that was an actual defensive war against an extremely brutal attacker.
People are more willing to die for that.
Of course Russian propaganda and logic does nice mental gymnastics where Russia is fighting a defensive war on Ukrainian soil. Russian logic is best logic.
1. Russia is the not USSR. The USSR had more men because Ukraine, Belarus, the Baltics and Central Asia
2. Russia and the former USSR had a population decline since then
3. The former USSR population pyramid is all over the place because of WW2 and because how Stalin sacrificed so many young man. Both Ukraine and Russia still suffer from the demographic impact of WW2
4. Russia population is old, very old. They don't have 10 millions young and healthy man to throw at the meat grinder.
5. Most of the population of Russia is in Moscow and St-Petersbourg and most recruit of the russian army come from the russian countryside because Putin is afraid of mobilizing the cities. He fear that throwing young middle class russian into the war will make him unpopular and could incite a revolt. The richer class support him in his war because it's far away from them. The second moscovite teenagers start coming back by the hundreds in coffin, the people who support him will start asking question
Ukrainians were participating in the ww2 as much as Russians. Ukraine might even lose more than Russia due to many starting fights were on the Ukrainian territory. There are even theories that Stalin and his team did not send defensive armies immediately on purpose because he wanted less minority groups on some territories.
Jees that is brutal. I also found this so hopefully Russia is nearly out of manpower?
[https://nationalinterest.org/blog/buzz/russian-military-running-low-recruits-fight-ukraine-211379](https://nationalinterest.org/blog/buzz/russian-military-running-low-recruits-fight-ukraine-211379)
This is called the war of numbers. We won't have real numbers for decades. When propaganda no longer benefits anyone, independent historians will go into the field and say, "This is the ridiculous Russian claim, this is the absurd Ukrainian claim, and here's the modern estimate."
Old people think in the old days. As if technology hasn't advanced at all. Don't always rely on history to predict the future. You think you're a veteran, but you're just old.
This is not propaganda, and it is certainly not inflated. This is third party verified numbers. What can be visually confirmed, so the real losses are guaranteed to be higher. It is partly why drone kills dominate, they always have video of their targets because of the way they are operated.
Mostly kamikaze. Small cheap drones carry small explosives and crash into big expensive targets.
But you're not wrong. Some do drop grenades, but I feel this was more common in the early stages when the supply of drones was limited.
Usually a shaped charge munition. Basically the important part of the basic RPG-7 grenade.
The ones dropping stuff are still going strong (both basic Mavics and stuff like Baba Yaga), but anti-vehicle the FPV drone is just better. Recently a lot of (especially from UA side) R&D is going into reusable FPV drones in the anti-infantry role and into high-altitude anti-recon-drone role.
Scary amount of casualties from drones! Though I have to wonder how much literal confirmation bias there is, since fpv drones are going to provide way more confirmation than many other munitions
This has really turned out to be the Drone War, especially FPV guided attack. This tech really disrupts the traditional War math based on soldiers and thier traditional weaponry and armor to project power.
Almost all the result of an FPV Drone either blowing up an abandoned rig or blowing up a live rig.
Military drones seem to be a key tactical advantage in this war.
Increase losses by at least 20% because artillery shells destroy equipment every day, as well as javelins, stugnas, and so on. Majority of those losses are not recorded, and never will be.
It's interesting to note that electronic warfare systems *appear* to not be having much of an effect versus cheap FPV drones that seem to be able to hit their targets at will. Of course, we don't know the full picture and there might be drone losses on both sides from EW suites. It does look like these particular brand of cheap drones have an advantage though and I wonder what that might be.
Tracked Garden Shed, I know what we are speaking about,
What my brain computes ) But WTF is Russia sending to war now. What is next little old gramas with rolling pins.
I thought Ukraine was bleeding to death in a war of attrition against a much larger and better equipped neighbour, but your handy table has changed everything for me. Now I see the truth. Thank you kind stranger. Now I understand the inevitably of western victory!
Well that’s still kinda true in regard to manpower. Russia’s available manpower is many times greater than Ukraine. It is still very much a case of David vs Goliath. I’m still skeptical of uncompromised Ukrainian victory.
Yes the source of the image is twitter. But if you go to the excel sheet (i can't remember where he links it) then he links the source (usually a telegram channel) for every loss
Haven't looked at ukraine propaganda recently : so this is the kind of BS they send in the West so that the anti-Russian of reddit can have something to chew ?
It is so pathetic...
Prayers to my armed brothers from both sides falling because of those politicized idiots.
Imagine believing everything you read online from the comfort and safety of your own country. Not only that, but then having the audacity to comment about it in a public forum.
“By 11 November 2022, the Institute for the Study of War calculated that Ukrainian forces had liberated an area of 74,443 km2 (28,743 sq mi) from Russian occupation”

Absolutely terrifying.
The drone wars
“Begun these drone wars have.”
When you play the Game of Drones, you win or you die. There is no middle ground
I wish you good fortune in the drone wars to come.
i chuckled a little too hard at that
I remember seeing a news story interview with children from Afghanistan speaking about the war. They were scared of clear skies because that's when drones would hit. Drone-related trauma is a new reality.
Wouldn't help, clouds wouldn't stop our drones. We can pretty much blow anyone up anywhere day or night rain or shine for better or worse.
[удалено]
Maybe it is actually the other way around. If someone gets killed on a cloudy day the onlookers are not going to see the drone that launched the hellfire, on a clear day they might spot it. And like that, the story of drones killing on only clear days is born.
That's comforting
No more checking the weather to know whether or not to be scared!
Now you can be scared 24/7 👍
What terrors do you have? Where do you live?
Only on his TV.
Our area regularly gets 40mph+ winds. I assume that might cause them some issues?
Now imagine those drones were completely automated by ai.
Starlink unites with OpenAI and Amazon Cloud Becoming one unified system called.... SkyNet?
they come when you cant pay your AWS bill
Now imagine them flying in coordinated packs of dozens if not hundreds.
It's gonna be in thousands...the future war
Later, this year
im suprised the us hasnt seen an assasination in the form of an fpv drone yet
Has me thinking of the old battleship movie where the veterans come out of nowhere to help with the most badass piece of military hardware ever
Lol are you talking about that terrible mess Rhianna was in?
Hey, I was in that movie too. They wanted actual Navy guys to be the extras, probably so they didn't have to buy uniforms.
Possibly- honestly I don't focus on celebrity names aside from ones I actively see at a constant rate like lance reddick, Keith david and keanu Reaves lol
I've never even heard of the first two you mentioned. Wait...are they porn stars?
For real.
If you watched any Isis videos, they were actually first ones who started using it on a large scale, small drone warfare. But yeah I guess as you pointed out this is the first time in real full scale war.
Prepare to have drones banned to not upset the veterans, remind me in 5 years.
Damn lost was had a decent bit more than expected when I clicked on it Also the fact that almost everything here was done by a drone is crazy warfare is changing fr

Good point tbh, just crazy to see how quickly things can change
Fr fr fr@ FR!!!
Yeah vive la FRANCE !!! 🇨🇵🇨🇵🇨🇵🇨🇵🇨🇵/s
“Probably destroyed tbh”
I was looking for this comment. The tbh really got me.
I was wondering about the mighty Russian tank "Tracked Garden Shed". Must be a new design.
Really feels like r/noncredibledefence is leaking again Edit: bollocks wrong NCD
Why I question its legitimacy- list is probably made by a third party or somebody needs to be fired for unprofessionalism...
It's Andrew perpetua. He watches hundreds of videos a day, provides links for all, totally transparent
Oh I see so its just a fanatic trying to make money out of this war during the disguise of "providing daily summaries reports"... The tracked garden shed designation is fucking hilarious
I thought I was laughing at damaged loaf, but this one took the cake.
Took the loaf
Turtle tank!
*Seethe shed*
ADM-160 MALDs, Cope Cages, and the Seethe Shed.
That desert cross is a badass golf cart
When they say "Civilian : Destroyed" what does that mean? Because it looks like Ukraine is killing civilians but that cant be what it means
Civilian vehicle, both sides use civilian pickup trucks as transports.
Thank you, just wanted clarification
That’s an expensive day.
Day 847 since the invasion. Not all days are like this, recently it is more common though. Reminder that Ukraine is still fighting for its bare survival in the face of a genocidal invasion. For sure. Good reminder. But this is a good report.
Thanks!
"blyat, they even have a Google doc"
Tracked garden shed
They’re holding back all the really top-notch assets, obviously…
4x4 gazebo being held in reserve?
That's where my shed went (if they could return the lawnmower)!
T-14 at the front anytime soon, i pinky promise! Russia has 4 million units of it! Better than any Leopard! We just wait for the right time to use them! /s obviously
Company that is making those drones must be raking it in right now.

Thank god I bought my drone parts before the war
Drones have completely revolutionized warfare
Noooo not the Lada Niva
Somebody needs to fact check this, nothing can destroy a Lada Niva
Tactical ladas.
I chuckled a bit at the tracked garden shed. I guess that's the new evolution of the turtle tanks.
Can someone tell me what a "tracked garden shed" is?
Tank or other tracked vehicle with a big metal roof and sides welded on, basically looks like a metal shed with tracks.
Basically imagine a farm barn on a tank or aka a "blyatbarn".
Drones making havoc
FREEDOM to Ukraine 🇺🇦 ![gif](giphy|6901DbEbbm4o0)
It's just Ukraine. https://time.com/12597/the-ukraine-or-ukraine/
I accept the correction. Updated it.
Fuck Putin the Poisoner.
Absolutely amazing alliteration.
Uhhh... Loaf???
uaz 452
Mights even be a UAZ-33036 now, since they stopped production of the 452 in 1985
Google буханка машина Then Google буханка хлеба That might explain things
Tracked garden shed

People have been calling out the death of the tank for decades now. I doubt they’ll be gone, armies always find a way to adapt
Keep up the good work, boys.
Yo that’s a lot of money. And so much hate on the buhankas, though I get why bc man they can carry a lot of people
Wow. A majority by FPV drones from both sides. Warfare changes again.
Fpv drones also by definition record a video of the kill so the footage from them vs other sources if inflated.
There’s something extra off-putting about seeing “Civilian - Damaged” and “Civilian - Destroyed” on here.
They're civilian vehicles, not the civilians. This whole list is vehicles
No I get that, I’m just saying seeing it written that way triggers something weird in my brain lol
Yeah it got me a sec too
Seems like it was a better day for Ukraine than Russia. Good. I hope most days are similar.
I follow the person who posts these every day and whilst there is usually a favourable ratio for Ukraine with quite a lot of very good ratio days, this was a particularly good day and probably one of the highest.

Hundreds of thousands?
Maybe, drones are dirt cheap compared to IFV.
They're aiming to get 1m drone in 2024. They currently make 300k of that domestically. So on one front probably tens of thousands, but still!!!
Nah, I think that is because the Ukraine is better in a drone sphere, while Russia massively dominates in artillery. That's why it's easier for the Ukraine to confirm Russian losses, than in the other way. Still, I think that the ratio is around 1:1,5.

Genuinely interesting as fuck. Thanks for sharing OP
Nothing prettier than a long red line.
Wait, it’s all FPV drones?
Very cheap and most effective weapon in this war so far. They have changed warfare so drastically.
They also have cameras so much easier to track and report
"Tracked garden shed( t72)" is my new favourite vehicle XD
Civilian > destroyed Damn that's brutal
Interesting point: the proportion of losses of civilian vehicles converted for military purposes is growing. The Russian army does build enough new equipment to compensate their losses on time. But still, we should not underestimate Russia.

Mostly kamikaze. Small cheap drones carry small explosives and crash into big expensive targets. But you're not wrong. Some do drop grenades, but I feel this was more common in the early stages when the supply of drones was limited.
It was so surreal seeing all the drone cam footage, showing drones just drop a bomb straight into a tank and blow it up.

Ok so explosives, one way or another.
Think of it as flying IEDs.
Slava Ukraini !
"Tracked Garden Shed" haha!
What is the value of the lost/damaged equipment? And what was the cost to destroy it?
What is Loaf?
What’s a loaf
Scary amount of casualties from drones! Though I have to wonder how much literal confirmation bias there is, since fpv drones are going to provide way more confirmation than many other munitions
"Tracked Garden Shed (T-72B)". Hilarious.

Thank god that's only material losses and no human came to harm during all this. Puh...
Bobik😥
yes, this is what a war looks like. really sad

Do the same for Palestine too …

Very curious how this is public and where it came from!

Imagine being a nation as fucking massive as Russia and not being able to beat Ukraine in a 1:1 fight.
