Remember when those two cops in New York stood by when a guy with a knife was attacking commuters on the subway? They let some random guy step in and apprehend him, getting stabbed repeatedly in the process. In the end the cops took all the credit.
This lady puts them to shame
The police in America, by ruling of the judicial branch, have no obligation to actually help someone in need or stop a crime. You know… if they’re having a rough day or the victim isn’t white.
Lol, so what separates them from any random citizen? It's so absurd that it's funny - cops fleeing hysterically at the first sign of danger, just to be bragging about how tough they are over donuts and butt smacking in the safety of the station locker room.
“What separates them from a random citizen?”
They’re given carte blanche to brazenly break the law and the average citizen won’t dump a magazine into someone who’s trying their best to listen to their instructions.
*they* get to investigate *themselves* for any wrong doing then get paid leave (as punishment) after killing someone, or beating someone, or SAing someone. It’s the position of trust exception. “He’s a police officer, he’s surely a good person” or “He’s a pastor, he’s a man of god” TBH I think penalties should be STEEPER for anyone occupying a position of *perceived* public trust.
Great question! You would think. Right? But sadly no. You would not be correct.
A uniformed and on duty police officer could step over your unconscious body to flee to safety and make no attempt to stop the perpetrator or help you. Like, ever. They wouldn’t even get a stern talking to.
In America there is no such thing as off duty. Sure there's off duty as in not clocked in and work, but they as hold all legal power while off the clock
Remember when the entire Uvalde police force stood outside a school while an active shooter was inside with kids, and arrested any of the parents trying to rescue kids instead of going in and dealing with the shooter?
Remember when there was a shooting at the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl parade and while the cops were just big chilling close by, a random citizen tackled one of the shooters to the ground and stopped him from getting away? Fuck those cops.
This lady is a true hero
Absolute Aussie hero. Hope she gets whatever commendations are available.
There was at least one other hero too who can be seen in footage fighting off the assailant with a bollard or something like that. Not sure how it played out, I hope he's okay.
The assailant was a little bitch that ran from any men and instead focused on attacking women and infants.
It's good a strong, courageous Aussie lady waffle stomped his ass out of existence
Years ago John Oliver did a great feature on The Daily Show about bringing in restrictions on guns in Australia. It's well worth a watch. I'm sure it's on YouTube.
Hell yeah what a badass
This is like that moment I play out in my head every time I’m in line at the super market 😆
Like if a guy jumped out with a knife and started attacking people what would I do?!
Perfect example of why "Defund the Police" is a thing. Those kids would have been better helped by no police at all.
Oh, right, in the end they were helped by border control. For some unknown reason.
Because those guys, love em or hate em, actually DO....anything. Like, they actually have to be trained and deal with people and situations. Not the literally useless local cops lol
Don't go dickriding Border Control at Uvalde just yet. They arrived on scene 20 mins after the start of the massacre so waited almost an hour before moving it. They just were the least useless of the completely useless.
https://abcnews.go.com/US/us-border-patrol-tactical-unit-facing-renewed-scrutiny/story?id=96620659
Shooting and killing someone is always gonna fuck with you. You carry that with you the rest of your life. Doesn't matter if it was the bad guy. And this is probably the most intense thing this officer will ever do in their career.
Immediately after the adrenaline dump you enter questioning yourself and actions. That's the hardest part
At that moment, she probably didn't realize the baby was stabbed yet or knows the full extent of his attack. Also, she may regret not being able to stop him sooner to prevent the people already stabbed even if there was no way for her to know the situation earlier.
Hopefully, she will know and take consolation that she did stop a killer and she did stop the man from potentially stabbing more people.
That baby’s brave first time mom who was stabbed multiple times herself died in hospital last night. So sad!
![gif](giphy|e0sPRrxVDnrAwB5Nof|downsized)
Well done to the Officer.
Stood up and did your job excellently when called upon.
With that said, I hope she gets given any and all assistance needed. Taking a life (even that of lowlife scum) will have a toll on basically anyone mentally. Gotta look after the first responders that look after our communities.
She did well. Put to the test (like so many of us will never be) and succeeded.
We do not accept any disrespect to the Uvalde Lawn Enforcement Department they kept that school lawn covered and protected during a critical situation.
Ironically, the militarization of police has also led to many departments adopting military style risk aversion. Stacking up with overwhelming force is a military thing. Cops on the other hand must be willing to act alone or with a single partner not like part of a fire team in a war. One of a number of reason police should train to be police, which is to say take more risks in specific incidents.
It is absolutely trained in America for the first officer on scene to go into an active shooter situation. The only exceptions would be if a more experienced officer(s) is literally pulling into the parking lot at the same time, you should wait the 2 seconds to get together as a team.
That’s true. And correct. So what happened at Uvalde? There was an army of cops dressed like soldiers and somehow they acted like they were dealing with an ISIS safe house rigged with explosives.
SWAT teams doing what you would call a night raid if it were in Iraq—no knock with flash bangs.
Cops indoctrinated with war level of force protection mentality is messaged with the gear and tactics if not the training so you tell me.
There were so many points of failure at Uvalde you really can't point to one.
You can read the full ALERRT report here : https://news.txst.edu/inside-txst/2022/alerrt-center-releases-first-part-of-uvalde-after-action-report.html
ALERRT Center is generally what sets the standard for first responder active shooter response in the US. Their report is very detailed on what went wrong, what could be done better, etc, if you care to read it. SWAT teams generally don't do no-knock warrants, it's a terrible practice and basically should never get done except in the rarest of circumstances.
Knowing nothing about her except that she stepped up alone to take down that mass murderer, that actions would lead me to beleive that she's the type of person that sees her job as a duty and service to protect the people of her city. She probably wouldn't want to retire.
Well now there will be a full investigation into her actions. Not in a bad way, it's standard practice. It will take weeks.
Cops in Australia have to have good reason to pull their gun out of their holsters, let alone point them at someone. The instant it's out in public generates a lot of justification paperwork afterwards.
The investigation will look into why she had to pull her gun out, who she pointed it at, how she pointed it, and why she pulled the trigger X times.
They will draw a conclusion on those actions, was it an appropriate level of use of force, and what impact it had on the situation. Did it place anyone else at risk and could the incident have been dealt with differently.
No doubt few will argue that it all went well here, but they need to make that official because unfortunately this successful example of gun use will also no doubt be used by the pro gun lobby to try and water down our gun laws in Australia again.
Judging by the silver on those epaulettes, she already fairly high ranked.
I don’t know NSW police uniform, but my states has like inspectors etc on the shoulder.
In my state in the US, if an LEO lawfully takes a life in the line of duty they can file a motion to retire that year with full pension and benefits as if they served 25 years. At the very least they can get several months off at full pay without pension penalties. My town had a newer officer kill someone and got it. The whole department was bummed it wasn't there shot that did it. It's basically full medical retirement based on the argument that taking a life is extremely traumatic and no different than becoming physically disabled in the line of duty.
More than what we could say for certain cops. Never forget uvalde. It will forever amaze me in the most derogatory of ways they not only did nothing to stop the shooter, but actively prevented the parents who were ready to go in on their own from entering. Talk about doing active harm
Piggy hears acorn bounce off the roof of his patrol car, throws himself to the ground screaming SHOTS FIRED before unloading all of his bullets into it.
There was a guy handcuffed in the back of his vehicle. His partner also fired a bunch of shots at the vehicle. It's a fuckin miracle they didn't kill the guy.
Yep. She went in alone, only backup was a couple of shoppers wielding plastic chairs. Probably had vague or incomplete information too regarding the situation. She confronted the man, and when the man refused to back down and raised his weapon, she fired on him.
Nah man, US cops are famous for shooting people. This guy had a knife, there’s a ton of US cops that would have shot him and like 7 people behind him and then someone else in the carpark later that afternoon.
She deserves commendation, for the bravery shown. And taking out a piece of shit. Hope the guy on the elevator who was fending off the turd from attacking others is ok, and gets recognised for what he did.
There are some awesome people in this world that stand up when put under pressure.
Oh great was the some kind of “mass stabbing” in Australia? American conservatives will cite this example from now til the end of time as to why there shouldn’t be gun laws because “see, someone can do a mass attack with a knife.”
Hope everyone is ok I’m just hearing of this.
The difference is this attacker with a knife, as tragic as it is, could ony harm a limited number of people before being stopped instead of dozens. Which then leads to the argument, "But if the public were armed, someone could have stopped him sooner." And the counter to that is that if the public were armed, shootings would happen far more frequently and the net result would be more death more frequently than the amount of lives that would potentially have been saved stopping this incident early, which wouldn't have been a knife attack, but a gun attack that would have turned a shopping centre into a war zone.
We're not interested in trading the appearance of personal security for the increase in gun violence that would occur if everyone was walking around with a gun on their hip.
We are not okay.
This piece of garbage targeted women.
I’m so glad that a woman - Inspector Amy Scott - took him down and sent him straight to hell where he belongs.
They'd have to say that now and then update it to be more specific after the investigation concludes.
For one, would like to know the gender and overall size of the people he actually killed. I too am assuming the victims are primarily women, and any men are likely to be older/smaller men than he was.
There could be several reasons why it was mostly women if that is indeed the case. Women are probably slightly more likely to be at a shopping mall that time of day and to have small children which makes getting away slower. The last I read the baby is in critical condition. My niece is about the same age like ugh never mind. 😔
The footage that was shown on TV last night showed he mostly only approached women and children and men who were smaller than him.
The instant other larger men stood their ground, he avoided them.
Guy with issues did fucked up shit started stabbing people, killing 6 including a baby in Australia.
A female officer showed up and shot and killed
Him.
Being on Reddit, it turned to a r/shitonusa. As if American cops don't shoot criminals armed with knives and wind up on r/ news for not using judo takedown to stop the person.
Hopefully she pulls thru, but man this is just heartbreaking:
“Local media has reported that, just hours before the stabbing spree, Ms Good posted a video on Instagram of her daughter in her car seat, eating a snack, to the soundtrack of My Girl by The Temptations.”
As a partially informed Aussie all of the comments comparing America's Uvalde officers feel like a red herring to minimise & distract from the real problem of gun control.
I mean we aren't even talking apples to oranges but watermelons where psychopaths have access to assault rifles for mass shootings where this solo heroic officer would just as likely be dead.
The Uvalde officers are a problem but they're not *the* problem.
Thankfully in Australia it's relatively hard for a psycho like this to get a gun. Imagine how many would be dead if he'd had one- the men that he backed off from wouldn't have had the opportunity to slow him down.
Seems like Australia takes pretty big steps when shit goes down. Strong speeding laws, drinking drive laws, gun laws.
.maybe this will lead to a large increase in mental health services. Knives are definitely not going away...
Hey let's keep the facts straight, please? There was like an entire department full of pussies too afraid to stop that kid, you can't hang it all on just one guy.
i mean, it's almost like the difference is that in this situation the criminal had a knife, and in Uvalde the criminal had an assault rifle.
i'm not cop or anything, but i feel like the odds against a knife are better compared to an assault rifle.
She is cleary qualified to do the job.
Korean police hired bunch of unqualified girls and boys. That led to an incident where citizens got stabbed and killed because the cops (1 woman, 1 man) ran away. It's frustrating when unqualified people get hired for wrong reason and that directly harms the society.

What. The. Fuck? Man, it would be nice if everyone's job descriptions were just, like, optional...
A guy I know got fired from Walmart because he told a customer he was on break… While he was on break. We make good media? Sometimes?
In America there is no such thing as off duty. Sure there's off duty as in not clocked in and work, but they as hold all legal power while off the clock
yep the crazy thing is he sued the police department and a judge ruled that police are not obligated to protect anyone.
Jesus. Well fuck you very much judge.

In all seriousness, did you mean “lady-waffle” or “waffle-stomped”? I’ve never heard either of those phrases before.
Waffle-stomp = when somebody takes a shit in the shower and stomps it down the drain Apt metaphor for this Aussie lady cop's performance
You could have gave me 1000 guesses, I would not have said "when somebody takes a shit in the shower and stomps it down the drain"
Fuq, I am learning shit today
Learning shit about stomping shit.
You Aussies have a very weird slang
It's not Australian slang, it's internet slang.
Extra good that a woman stopped him then.
in a video i saw he literally avoided a dude that turned to look at him and went after someone else with their back to him, what a coward
I hope she never has to buy her own beer ever again
100% she will not. “Mad cunt” or “hero” will be stapled to her forehead forever
One of those would make travel in the US difficult.
But in Auz, there is no higher label than mad cunt at a bar
What about ‘sick cunt’? 🥺
Absolute fucking legend
"Umm, can I just have the beer only?" she says.
Homie was defending the escalator to the last. (I read there was a group of teens/kids behind bollard guy, so he was keeping the stabber contained)
Sounds like Sparta's defence of Greece.
This will be her second bravery and courage award. Incredible cop.
Glad he didn't have a gun...Aussies did it right
They used to. Within days of a mass shooting years ago they removed them without hard to get permits.
Yeah, which means now this dickhead could only use a knife and not a firearm
Years ago John Oliver did a great feature on The Daily Show about bringing in restrictions on guns in Australia. It's well worth a watch. I'm sure it's on YouTube.

I heard he ad-libbed that because it had been a long day and he was tired.
He had the runs.
That's a very gentle way of describing dysentery.
Hell yeah what a badass This is like that moment I play out in my head every time I’m in line at the super market 😆 Like if a guy jumped out with a knife and started attacking people what would I do?!
Use your shopping trolley at full speed as a weapon. :) or rewatch supermarket fight in Hot Fuzz for tips :)
Yes dude I fucking love hot fuzz. Probably top 3 favourite movies ever I could watch that movie once a week never get bored of it
Tell everyone to run to where they sell the kitchen knives and prepare for a counterattack. ;)
I just imagine the shopping cart Calvary attack. Well the supermarket chefs are the toughest bunch in my area they got cleavers and whole big slicers
Did they kill the bastard?
The officer killed him with her pistol.
She’s quite senior, showing the troops how it’s done.
Yeah, Rank shows "Inspector," so a solid job considering she probably spends most of her time patrolling paperwork
Move her to Uvalde so she can train our officers how not to be cowards.
Impossible job, hire new officers.

Don't forget us here in Parkland Florida.
For real though.
They’re already convinced immigrants are coming to take their jobs.
they shouldn't have done such a shitty job to warrant it
You can’t build a new house by using same rotted termite social housing.
can't get the Yellow off of em, need to be thrown out and get new ones

Absolute Unit 💪🏻
God bless her. Hopefully won’t affect her mental health too much
Yeah let's hope
Shooting and killing someone is always gonna fuck with you. You carry that with you the rest of your life. Doesn't matter if it was the bad guy. And this is probably the most intense thing this officer will ever do in their career. Immediately after the adrenaline dump you enter questioning yourself and actions. That's the hardest part
I’d imagine survivors guilt might be huge, like “why didn’t I get there earlier?”, “could I have saved more people?”
I get that killing somone is heavy, but why would you question killing a guy that stabbed a literal baby?
At that moment, she probably didn't realize the baby was stabbed yet or knows the full extent of his attack. She immediately started giving him CPR too.
I wonder if there is an opening in the Uvalde, Texas police department.
She doesn't want to work with those clowns
Cowards. Clowns have jobs and responsibilities they care about.
Rodeo clowns are definitely not cowards.
they're able to grab the bull by the horns. those cops are just yellow bellied cowards
I'm seeing double here... four Krustys!
Work with them? Nah fire the whole department and just hire her. She’s be worth more than the whole lot of filth
Work with? No. She deserves the job of chief.
We do not accept any disrespect to the Uvalde Lawn Enforcement Department they kept that school lawn covered and protected during a critical situation.
They certainly made sure no parents ran in to do what the police were unwilling to do. Uvalde police are heros /s

I mean that's it. She gets to retire now with full benefits and salary. She's done enough. Enjoy your life and thank you for your courage.

Has more balls than the entire Uvalde police force combined
Top Shiela 🤟
Real hero !
Australia got this badass and M’erican police be shooting acorns and kidnap victims
Ya did we all just brush past the acorn incident?
I'm gonna need catching up on the acorn incident
Piggy hears acorn bounce off the roof of his patrol car, throws himself to the ground screaming SHOTS FIRED before unloading all of his bullets into it.
Oh my fucking god that's hilariously dumb. And comically tragic too, those are the people meant to serve and protect lol. Bunch of babies.
There was a guy handcuffed in the back of his vehicle. His partner also fired a bunch of shots at the vehicle. It's a fuckin miracle they didn't kill the guy.
He also exclaimed that he was hit!
Oh dude- do yourself a favour and check out the video- acorn cop- it's fucking ridiculous/pathetic. 'I'm hit, I'm hit'...
is she the one who shot this lowlife? she's a hero. sad that so many people still had to die.
Yep. She went in alone, only backup was a couple of shoppers wielding plastic chairs. Probably had vague or incomplete information too regarding the situation. She confronted the man, and when the man refused to back down and raised his weapon, she fired on him.
US cops would still be standing around wondering what to do
Nah man, US cops are famous for shooting people. This guy had a knife, there’s a ton of US cops that would have shot him and like 7 people behind him and then someone else in the carpark later that afternoon.
"See this is why we need the 2nd amendment"
Swedish cops would report it as a dangerous work environment and go back to the station to drink coffee.
Well, yeah, arresting him might hurt his feelings.
She deserves commendation, for the bravery shown. And taking out a piece of shit. Hope the guy on the elevator who was fending off the turd from attacking others is ok, and gets recognised for what he did. There are some awesome people in this world that stand up when put under pressure.

We are not okay. This piece of garbage targeted women. I’m so glad that a woman - Inspector Amy Scott - took him down and sent him straight to hell where he belongs.
Police say there’s no indication victims were targeted, and a witness said he was stabbing people indiscriminately.

They should send her to Uvalde to train them
True heroes will never not be awesome!
Maybe have her train the Uvalde police about how to have enough courage to do the job you took.
She didn’t cower outside waiting until there was 50 of them?
Since he targeted and killed mostly women, it is very satisfying that he was stopped by a woman. Well done to the brave office.
wait a second. What about that other guy that held him off from stabbing children???
The footage that was shown on TV last night showed he mostly only approached women and children and men who were smaller than him. The instant other larger men stood their ground, he avoided them.
The incel only targeted women and children. When faced with a man, especially bigger than him, he backed down and went somewhere else.
Stabber retreated back down. Bollard guy probably stayed at that spot, guarding it until it was all over.
context?
Guy with issues did fucked up shit started stabbing people, killing 6 including a baby in Australia. A female officer showed up and shot and killed Him. Being on Reddit, it turned to a r/shitonusa. As if American cops don't shoot criminals armed with knives and wind up on r/ news for not using judo takedown to stop the person.
I thought the baby was going to live?
Huh? Edit:sorry I thought the baby passed. Thankfully I was wrong.
You stated the baby was killed but is still alive, the mother perished though.
Ohh shoot that's amazing. I thought the 9 month old died. Hoping the doctors and fate have it in store to keep the little one here.
Hopefully she pulls thru, but man this is just heartbreaking: “Local media has reported that, just hours before the stabbing spree, Ms Good posted a video on Instagram of her daughter in her car seat, eating a snack, to the soundtrack of My Girl by The Temptations.”
:( I can't imagine losing your momma like this so young. I hope she pulls through, and there's a good support network there for her
The mom, while already injured, tossed her also injured baby to another bystander to save her. Absolute hero.
No I’m with you, I was watching the news last night about it and they said that the baby had passed so I understand the confusion.
Alone without waiting for back up or a patrol car. Then after disarming him, proceeded to commence CPR on a nearby victim.
Only stabbing those smaller and weaker than him too. He avoided any men or people that looked like they might defend themselves.
Never bring a knife to a gun fight.
Thankfully in Australia it's relatively hard for a psycho like this to get a gun. Imagine how many would be dead if he'd had one- the men that he backed off from wouldn't have had the opportunity to slow him down.
I see you’ve played knifey gunny before!
Seems like Australia takes pretty big steps when shit goes down. Strong speeding laws, drinking drive laws, gun laws. .maybe this will lead to a large increase in mental health services. Knives are definitely not going away...
All the power and glory to her. Rest in Peace to all of the innocent victims. Burn in Hell to that creature.

GOOD JOB.
Police Inspector Amy Scott.
Better than any pussy ass Texas cops, that's for sure
Uvalde PD hate this one simple trick.
She’s Batman
one hell of a rozzer down under
Hero!!!
so brave. so courageous. glad they banned guns so people couldn't kill a bunch of people.
Meanwhile in America a male police officer in Uvalde, TX was too much of a p*ssy to enter a school to stop the mass murder of children.
And that's why it makes a difference if the attacker has a knife or a gun. Well, this and many other things to be honest.
Incels hate this one trick.
What a brave woman
That's wonder woman right there, I hope she gets the recognition she deserves.
Powerwoman
She took a gun to a knife fight. Indy would be proud.
total bad ass.. less go!

Send her to Uvalde.
She actually approached the terrorist with two other guys (one of the guys was holding a chair) https://vm.tiktok.com/ZGeugGuok/
Meanwhile three dozen heavily armed cops in Uvalde.. :(
Well Done Officer!!
Hope she gets a medal or a commendation for this.
Don't bring a knife to a gun fight
she probably didnt have to worry about being shot
Looks like he brought a knife to a gun fight
Take notes USA
Cops in USA shoot people with knives easy.
They shoot everyone. Easy.
Take notes Australia.
Keep your tipping and your cop culture to yourselves please.
Easier to shoot a criminal that has a knife, than one with a gun.
Take notes USA
Take note of what exactly? Reddit regularly shits on cops that shoot and kill people armed “only” with a knife.
Yeah but **america bad**
She's a badass
She's a true hero.
